It's definitely @Hammerlock3...Went from Hammerlock to Hammerlock2 and now Hammerlock3 because he keeps forgetting his passwords

I was a first year wrestler as a sophomore coming from a catholic 7-9 middle school with only 3 weeks of wrestling each year in phys ed class. Was doing OK about .500 mid season. Then the big dual against last years section champion at my weight. I get on the mat with some apprehension and we begin the hand fight. I'm thinking wow this guy isn't overpowering me I'm even getting this good week side underhook(clueless as to stepping into his setup). BAM next thing I know I'm getting dumped so hard my collar bone cracks the minute I hit the mat. I'm sent to the hospital for the positive XRAY. My strongest memory is my teammates coming and me being wacked out on the effect of pain killers after sucking to cut weight.

I don't meet the requirements as I only wrestled 1st through 5th grade, but I have two stories. I was not a good wrestler. Went to a few tournaments every season and in my 'career' received one first place trophy which happened in 3rd grade. It was our hometown tournament and I somehow missed the weigh-in because I think I was pooping or something and when I weighed in late at 55 lbs they bumped me up into the 60 lb class to fill a bracket. Of course now I'm scared and nervous having to wrestle bigger kids but I go on to go 2-0 and get my only first place trophy. Here is a bad karma story. The next year I'm in 4th grade. In one of our practices we play 'King of the Mat' where we all pair off (must have been 40 kids or so) and if you score a takedown you stay in and your opponent is out and the winner finds someone else who is in and wrestle until one person is left. My first opponent was a strong farm kid. I come up with this scheme to stall in this first match and I tell the kid 'hey, let's just goof around for a minute or two while the others are knocking each other out'. We stall for a minute with no action and finally one of the coaches comes over and tells us to get going so I somehow take this farm kid down which shocked me. When I get up and turn around I lock eyes with a kid a year older than me who probably had 30 lbs on me and I immediately waive my hand no to him and turn around to find someone else. Unfortunately I end up with an even bigger kid and we tie up and I try throw him by as he pushes into me and he stumbles a bit and while falling I go behind him real quick for the takedown. I somehow took down two kids who should have rag-dolled me. After I took him down, I stand up and turn around and there is only one kid left.......my cousin, two years older than me in 6th grade who was insanely strong and he ended up wrestling through high school on varsity. Anyways, we tie up and in about 2 seconds he headlocks me and when my shoulder hits the mat my collarbone snaps in half lol. My life flashed before my eyes as I laid there bawling on the mat.

Just got home from a long day of wrestling and watched, and really only one opinion came to me. Vance is a bigger tool than I already thought. I can see why some on here are all fond of him, he reminds me of that little kid on the playground that tries to be cool with smart ass comments but the lines are just no good.

I have gotten way too invested in advocating for certain positions, especially for athletes I think are getting a raw deal or are being done dirty by their coaches or their school. I also miss sarcasm in posts or interpret it incorrectly, which is kind of a prerequisite skill to have when interacting on a message board with any level of deftness or nuance.

Watching Tom Ryan talk about Sammy was interesting. Will he become an assistant/grad assistant at Ohio State? Ryan mentioned it but didn't say much. Will he move on to another program? Apparently College coaching is a goal. Will it happen?

Everyone in this thread posting about how they were the worst is wrong. You can't be the worst and have self awareness. I on the other hand have never been the worst and have actually never been wrong on this forum.

The perfect wrestling was a random social media comment in English, odds are incredibly high that something got lost in translation.

If the deal hadn't been hammered out then I don't know why Zelenskyy would've thought they'd reached a new deal in front of the media. I was expecting the mineral deal would imply (without being stated) that US would protect their companies and investment. There was no expectation they would provide blanket security for Ukraine. They minerals were for passed support not necessarily future. But once US companies were involved it means a certain level of security to protect the investment

Everyone knows a JD Vance in their work life, the weasley douche who sits back in meetings acting like he knows it all, waiting for the opportunity to chime in with some stupid corporate speak comment or gotcha to try and look good in front of the boss. Oftentimes repeats what the boss or somebody else has said before word for word in the past for a pat on the back. Likes using big words. Been reported that Zelenskyy had two previous chances to sign the mineral deal that he didn't need to come to DC to do so but we know how "reporting" goes these days. I also saw no reason for Vance in the room, was not helpful.

Why in the world anyone would talk negatively about anyone who medaled at the Olympics is beyond me. Instead of trying to diminish any of these guys why don't we just celebrate their successes instead of parsing their whole senior level careers as if any of that matters? I was told earlier that the rule was simply leaving the area but the one video showed that it was worded during an altercation and took part. Which means that the punches do matter to the NJSIAA. This makes more sense overall. Otherwise kids running into the stands to hug their parents could be subject to dq.

I have a question...is all it takes is a bunch of millionaires/billionaire to give a lot of money to a school collective/NIL to instantly make them successful....or, orrr...is there a lot more to it and the successful programs have always had a winning formula even before NIL that other schools haven't been able to figure out????
