https://apnews.com/article/california-auto-emissions-epa-climate-change-1ce052a131554452f651780baa783ffb Why not do something that would make an immediate impact: Ban all diesel equipment engaged in construction of solar, wind etc farms and any other infrastructure. All construction must use battery/EV equipment as of 01/01/25 Ban all transportation of food & produce into or within the state via diesel powered semis, ships, locomotives etc. All such transportation shall be via EV/battery systems as of 01/01/25. This will quickly solve the climate issue in CA as millions will flee the state or simply stop breathing.3 points

Issue with early reporting on these type of tragedies. I posted what was being reported at the time of the body count which ended up being wrong. Those reports were coming from major media networks. Media networks also misreported on a 2nd grader making the 911 call which was later corrected. It was the 2nd grade teacher. Then you throw in social media and who knows what info you are going to find.2 points

I see Starocci winning, and likely the margin is greater the more active his opponent is. I certainly see a 6 point win as very likely. That being said, I don't think anyone's heel is touching their head. How many top 10 type guys, other than injured/HEW Mekhi, has Carter physically tortured over the course of his career? He was so mad that Wrestle Stat #78 Wilt tried in a match against him that he cost PSU a team point. In Carter's world, a "grave urination" is a 2-0 victory.2 points

30+ years ago, I worked at a residential home for teenagers who were removed from their homes, either due to abuse or their parents'/schools' inability to control them. I worked there almost one year and was the assistant director. When we received our 100th client during my time at the home, I did some statistical research. Maybe it was an anomaly; but out of 100 clients, 99 were from "broken families." I'm glad that you and your siblings turned out ok.2 points

https://nypost.com/2024/06/08/us-news/yale-law-professor-says-trump-isnt-a-convicted-felon-despite-guilty-verdict-heres-why/ Despite media reports, Rubenfeld insisted that it’s “not true” that Trump is already a “convicted felon,” arguing that one is “not a convicted felon because of a jury verdict.” “You are not convicted until the judge enters that judgment of guilt. Now, in New York, it’s very likely that Judge Merchan will enter that judgment of guilt against Trump on the same day that he issues sentencing. That’d be July 11th.” A jury found him guilty. He is convicted when the judge enters that judgement and sentences the person found guilty. mspart2 points

Good on the athletes for getting paid, but this is all a side effect of the third party pay-for-play system we're operating in. Contracts and salaries could fix this particular phenomenon. Unfortunate reality of the new era that an athlete can effectively hold out at any time of their own choosing.2 points

Update--my apologies for the delay. I had some personal obligations pop up and trackwrestling wasn't available to expedite the results tallying process. But... better late than never. I have finally tallied the points, and the results are below: @MPhillips is our winner with 154 points. Shoot me a DM to claim your $20 prize. @nhs67 had the best darkhorse with Frost taking 5th place from an unseeded position, scoring 15 team points. Shoot me a DM to claim your $5 consolation... one beer on me. Apologies again for not updating the scoring in real time. Life got in the way.2 points

It’s likely to happen. Jimmy is a freshman who split time between football and wrestling most of his career. Now that he’s wrestling full time, he’s likely to make a level jump soon. He’ll hit some bumps with the top tier guys but he’s athletic and a pinner in his own right. Doubtful he’ll stick Wyatt but he has a puncher’s chance to make it interesting1 point

You just can't help yourself can you...must be a miserable life you live. Hey guess what...there was a tragic accident and A LOT of people's lives were changed forever in the worst possible way but go ahead and chase down a boogeyman to make yourself feel better about yourself in some weird narcissistic way by making this about anti-trans...again....this should be about the tragic event and the countless real victims. I'll go ahead and recognize a mature stand-up guy admitting he was wrong for accidently commenting on a report that was false.1 point

Doesn’t this more maybe just mean Yianni outgrew 65kg as opposed to wrestling 149 in college having anything to do with it? We’ve also seen guys like Micic make major cuts from where they wrestled in college and have success, so I don’t think having 141/149 as the college weights really has anything to do with our lack of success at 651 point

Why, pray tell, would you think it was accurate? Do you go hunting for anti-trans news any time a school shooting happens? Or does your personal news feed just happen to be populated with a bunch of anti-trans accounts that jump at any possible opportunity to demonize? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

WKN - He's asking you a simple question of what are the 34 unique felonies. You are making his point by not answer the question. In addition, from a legal standpoint, Trump is not convicted, he was found guilty. There is a legal difference between the two. Legally he was found guilty. Legally, he has not been convicted. msaprt1 point

I regret posting something I thought was accurate at the time. I ask everyone to do the same when linking anything about Trump or his cabinet nominees in return.1 point

One would think accuracy would be the thing they would want to make sure of. examples of the MSM looking for accuracy: We have mostly peaceful protests amid prolific arson and looting We have insurrection when there have been no such charges applied We have Steele dossier that was known to be a democrat plant and false We have Kavanaugh is a serial sexual pervert We have Trump was found liable for rape. ABC is paying 15 million for that one. A news media looking for accuracy would not state these things and most every MSM outlet did state these things. mspart1 point

This is a great example of the "fog" I remember seeing that post. Being curious I clicked the link. The profile ended up matching the shooter. But, the accusation of the shooter being trans came from thin air. Totally manufactured.1 point

I believe one of our biggest reasons we struggle at 65 KG internationally, with our best wrestlers, is that the Zains and Johnny D's end up going 149lbs and have to do a lot to get back to 65 KG (143lbs). It can't really be denied that Johnny D was more successful for us when he was making 141lbs than he was when he went 149lbs can it?1 point

What if we left the first 7 weight classes alone and then adjusted 184 to 190 and 197 to 214. That matches up with 86kg and 97kg and doesn't mess with the lower weights where there are more participants. 125 133 141 149 157 165 174 190 214 2851 point

Even the police chief got it wrong. He originally stated three plus the shooter, then changed it to five plus the shooter, before revising to two plus the shooter. Fog of war. This is why I refrain from the hot take, rush to be first, mentality in these situations. But I also hesitate to call BS when someone posts their Twitter and TikTok feeds like they are gospel, because ... maybe ... but probably not. In this case, definitely not.1 point

I hate this time of year. All of the "Opening on..." dates are lies as they mean opening in maybe 5 cities. Particularly looking forward to September 5 and The Brutalist. I find it particularly annoying that The Brutalist isn't going wide over the holidays because it's 3.5 hours. I'm going to set the time aside but work with me here on releasing it when I'm going to have days off work anyway.1 point
