why do lefties have a fascination with Russia? what exactly has russia done to us (in the last 30 years) to make them some boogeyman? to the extent that hillary paid for a fake dossier (which many of you deepthroated). Trump talks to Putin and... and what? what great ills became of it? Russia didn't do sh1t when he was in office. Trump also signed peace agreements in the middle east which, right on cue, disintegrated the moment the left got in office. so which of the two should we really be fearful of? you're peddling bs.4 points

Spot on. Actually main stream media is much worse. It wouldn't surprise me if there were several more attempts on President Trumps life as the democrats become more desperate as we are getting closer to election day.2 points

Been seeing these billboards pop up around here. Fortunately you have to disclose who pays for this. Turns out it's a hard core righty named David Mast who believes in the "elections Republicans don't win are stolen" lie. https://azmirror.com/2023/08/28/the-az-supreme-court-rebuffed-2-more-requests-to-overturn-gop-losses-in-2022/ Guess they can't win on policy so they just make shit up.1 point

We could say a lot of things about you too. You're illiterate, you think movies are real, it just kind of goes on and on. But we don't. Everybody needs to have some hope right?1 point

like the economy each D prez inherited after the last two GOP presidents. Kansas pretty much ran the conservative playbook to the letter for a few years. Did all the things they wished would happen nation wide. What happened? I'd say they admitted failure but we all know they'd never actually do that. What they did was reverse a lot of the policies that led to the horrendous hole they found themselves in. Who did they have to complain about? No one but themselves. I'll bet there can be found a few people that tried to blame it on those lousy liberals. Conservative policies are not popular because they don't do any of the things y'all hope they would. Its because they aren't born out of empathy or compassion. Just self righteousness and toxic survivalist mentality that just makes you look and sound like a toddler thought it up. Y'all are gonna lose NC. Maybe TX and if that happens, that's the game folks. You've never been less popular and those numbers are not trending upward. The more we learn the less appealing conservatism is. Enjoy the last few weeks your party and ideology is relevant.1 point

Because the guy behind the billboard is mentioned several times in the article as being involved in the legal process to challenge the election, which has been litigated 50+ times but nobody can find any actual evidence of anything going on. It's all theoretical or made up. Try to keep up.1 point

Try to answer all, and keep posted as it goes and I’m able. Appreciate the thoughts everyone. I do not have a two story house but I know what you’re thinking, and like I said I have plans for all. For a flash flood I have the kayak and dry bag ready. For a surge problem I have a bag packed and in the jeep, cooler ready to fill with ice and food. For a roof off issue, I have the right room picked out for the oh shit room for this one, will get the proper items ready for that in the morning. I’m kinda feeling like we’re going to be okay here though. Get some real nasty weather and will lose power, but okay. Don’t assume silence as in I’m in trouble; just could be while before I’m able to get on. I’ll post and send any pics if I’m able to get anything interesting.1 point

President Joe Biden praised GOP Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for being "cooperative" and doing a "great job" in his response to Hurricanes Helene and Milton, despite Vice President Kamala Harris slamming DeSantis for "playing political games" instead of doing his job in response to the storms. Why would Harris be calling DeSantis? She's the Border Czar not in charge of disaster relief.1 point

I really hope nobody assassinates him. But when you stir up shit like he does, then you might be the cause of your own problem by activating the crazies. If he died I wouldn't be sad exactly. I'd feel bad for his family. They aren't as good at grifting as he is.1 point

Often through lawsuits. But he has also bowed to governments like UAR, India and Turkey by censoring content so that they would not shut Twitter down in their countries. Also Tesla has had talks with both Turkey and India about building factories there.1 point

The answer is fairly simple. Iran has a strong secular population and both Dems and Republicans believe a friendly relationship is a bridge we can mend in the future. Israel also has strong ties to that same secular population. As for Russia both parties (D&R) have tried to maintain some sort of relationship with Putin. It's not a negative. The remnants of the Iron Curtain is on its last leg and it is important we keep an open dialogue. It would be far worse for our future if Russia lands in the lap of China. Lots of stupidity in this thread1 point

Haines would've made sense if he had taken a RS as a true freshman and Taylor had been hired at OSU that year. He could have transferred to Okie State and had four years there. But, he's now a two time finalist, NCAA champ at Penn State, wrestling with Kyle Dake, Mesenbrink, Starocci and Casey Cunningham. Ryder moved to State College to train at NLWC. I don't think he ever trained at M2. Duke is a HS friend/teammate of Ryder's and has no connection to Taylor. He's a KD guy.1 point

Short of a fundamental transformation in the personality of Ford Focus, I struggle to see how this helps CSUB moving forward no matter how well AJ does. Is there anyone in the wrestling community who doesn't look at this move cynically? Is there one wrestler, parent or high school coach who is giving CSUB a 2nd look because AJ is on campus? I would guess there are more people scratching CSUB off their list than adding it to their list. I wish CSUB nothing but the best. I saw Mark Cody turn American U. into a program that punched well above its weight at NCAAs by targeting a couple key prospects with high integrity with full scholarships to help attract other quality individuals to the program. Assuming CSUB has at least some scholarship money to work with, I would encourage them to do the same. CA is a wrestling gold mine - keeping just a few top prospects home could do wonders at CSUB.1 point

I honestly think Taylor has too much self-respect and respect for Cael to try to poach already-committed recruits. He thinks he can do it on his own merit, and he's probably right. And the wrestlers likely respect Taylor as an excellent coach, but also know there's a roomful of excellent coaches at PSU, so it isn't like they're losing out if they stay. Not that Taylor would turn down any of those guys if they decided on their own to make the transfer, but I think it only happens if one of these guys has a falling out at PSU or can't make the lineup.1 point

They really don't recruit kids that aren't in Cali already, because they don't have the money. An out of stater could walk on, but they really don't seek those top kids out of Cali. They can't afford to. I think Luke is only working with 4 or 5 schollys. That's why I hope the Ferrari can get things moving out there, in a positive way.1 point

Columbia just hired Greg Bulsak as an Assistant Coach. Bulsak was an All American at 197 for Rutgers. That's quite a staff at Columbia: Pritzlaff 2- Time National Champ and World Bronze Medalist, Rivera 4-Time All American, World Silver Medalist and Olympic Bronze Medalist, Buxton member of the Hall of Fame who coached 12 national champs and 41 All Americans, and 1-Time All American Bulsak. Over the next few years, it will be interesting to see their recruiting results. Clearly an All Star coaching staff1 point

To be overly simplistic about this, the older guys had more matches because they wrestled more competitions. Much more international travel - if you went overseas, you wrestled several tournaments and/or duals - and many more tours of international/Russian teams here. (I do miss those dual meet tours - those were a lot of fun to watch.) Philosophically, all sports/athletes seem to be moving to "load management". It's debatable whether reduced competition has made any impact on overall performance, health or career longevity. Snyderman (200+ wins at 28 years old) seems to be the only American embracing the old school tour mentality. I love him for it, but I do wonder if it hurt him in the last quad.1 point
