The only one I can tell talking about China is you. You implied that I've been to China and that it had an impression on me. You lied that I find being gay unacceptable. I have no idea why you are talking about China. I have no idea why you are saying that I find being gay unacceptable. This must be a scary. Maybe Belarus can put in their President (aka dictator) Lukashenko at 74KG and Russia can put in "Blackbelt" tyrant Putin at 57KG. And then the rest of semi-free world can beat the crap out of these two authoritarians. Oh, throw in Kim Jung Un for North Korea at 125KG.1 point

I am a huge fan of the drama. And a Tesla shareholder. The issue with the comp is highly technical. The Delaware Chancery court ruled that the first shareholder vote was flawed in that it failed to correctly disclose the inherent conflicts in granting massive amounts of options to an effectively controlling shareholder. Tesla's theory is that by having a second vote they can address the flaw, role back time to 2018, and re-issue the options. But it is not at all clear they can. If they cannot then his option grants are very in-the-money, causing Tesla to have a huge tax liability. And to make him whole (sort of) they would need to issue many more options given the decline in stock price. At the end of the day, he did what they asked in order to earn the options (and then some), so I am sympathetic to his argument, but that does not mean the court will be.1 point

Abortion and Guns are too completely different debates. Trying to compare, combine them is cute parlor trick attempts.1 point

It is hard to say how much they care, but this much I know. You get what you measure, but only exactly what you measure. If ADs are measured on winning then they will spend whatever it takes to win. Combine that with the fact that live sports entertainment is the world's most valuable broadcast commodity and it really is inevitable that private equity and advertisers will take notice.1 point

I find this topic extremely interesting but like abortion my opinions on it changes like the wind. There are so many shades of gray To clarify: I've never been Pro Life full stop and fully support exceptions like rape, incest, safety of the mother. More struggle with the rest of it. But let's not get off topic. Not trying to derail this specific 2nd amendment topic1 point

There is no dichotomy here. Owning a gun and being pro life are not mutually exclusive. If you are pro life you are not using that gun to end lives unless your own or someone else's life is being imminently threatened. I see no conundrum here at all. I think that being pro life means protecting the innocent. Be it abortion, crime, etc. Who's life am I "pro" for? My own, that of my family, then friends, then strangers who have their life in peril because of a perp. The perp does not get consideration since he is willing to destroy an innocent life. I do not carry a gun. I have not found that this is necessary for me just yet. But I would not be opposed to carrying a gun if society gets to the point where I am feeling in danger. I have never shot anyone. I would most likely have a hard time doing so but would to save a family member for sure. mspart1 point

I think they overturned the federal ban, not state bans. I'm not sure on that but that is how I understand it. I don't think they said anything about state bans. I understand there are 18 states that ban bump stocks. I personally am in favor of bumpstocks being illegal like machine guns. If Scotus says no on a federal level, then let the states do it. Further to the thread, I believe the 2nd Amendment gives citizens the right to bear arms. But I also think that that right can be revoked due to psychological issues or legal issues. There needs to be much better enforcement of the laws that are on the books. Those should be sufficient to do what is necessary to keep guns out of the hands of people that will use them for nefarious purposes. Unless of course, they get the guns illegally. Any crime where a gun is used, there should be enhanced penalties and there should not be any way to plea those down or not prosecute. Here in the Seattle area, they don't prosecute thieves and robbers for the use of a gun. At least generally, that charge is dropped. Part of that may be the enhanced 5 year prison term for such use which is WA law. I am for that as well. Hopefully that more fully states my position over my very short response earlier. mspart1 point

Voter ID would help. It's going to be hard, but there are alot more eyes on the election this year. Lara Trump is hands on. There are Thousands more Volunteers, Video surveillance on dropboxes and several states have adopted that postage is required., Sequential ballots are supposed to be discarded, that was a big issue in 2020 where ballots were counted that had sequential numbers, when people request a mail in ballot it is a random ballot number, but several thousand ballots in sequential order were counted, Meaning someone took a stack and filled them out. There should be much less of that.1 point

You are a treat TPT. You twist and squirm to change what people say to make them demons. I did not equate myself to terrorists. Not even close. That is a lie you tell yourself with a smugness that allows you to think you are winning an argument. It is a ridiculous narrative you weave and everyone can see it. You might try something else, this isn't working for you. I have been very clear here about what I think. IDF goes after Hamas operatives. If they are hiding with civilians, and civilians get hurt or killed, that is on Hamas. I do not think IDF should or does target civilians. But if Hamas will use them as shields, that is on Hamas. Hamas should have thought about that before attacking innocent civilians in Israel on Oct 7. And it is apparent they did. Sinwa of Hamas wants casualties. He is very clear that more Gazan civilian casualties, the better. He is the monster you should be concerned with because he has very real power over there. I, who have been very clearly on the opposite of him, should not concern you one bit. And you know that but try to warp what has been written on here. Your fake outrage is very transparent. Your attempt to equalize me with terrorists is laughable. One of the worst comparisons I have ever heard. You need a new bag of tricks. mspart1 point

I think the problem with that is: there are way more high school coaches who do not understand the rules or interpretations. Many high school coaches thought that it was 3 swipes for a 2 point nearfall in recent years!1 point

I think its a weird and rather odd situation with mason. You have a kid that in middle and early high school that was probably a top10 potentially top 5 recruit for his entire class that has now had a couple semi serious injuries and does not seem to be progressing in his wrestling potentially regressing given his early success. I would venture to guess a lot of that is mental and can be fixed but I would imagine he's looking for a full scholarship and maybe some NIL and I'm not sure how many teams are willing to give that with his current trajectory, not to look too much into a single match on the backside but the kid he lost to for third and fourth at states is going d2.1 point

None of this is untrue. I don't disagree with any of it. (See how I responded directly to your post?) But the conversation at the time was focused on China's position that being gay in unacceptable. Not yours. It's that, in your last post, you suddenly CHANGED the conversation we were having without reason or recognition of what I was saying. My point was that my statement did have merit - which was a continuation of the conversation flow... (It's all there in the thread if anyone is interested enough to scroll back and read it.) This is EXACTLY the kind of thing that keeps leading me back into thinking you are affiliated with Chinese propaganda. Maybe you are, maybe you aren't. But, Quack, you seem to walk like a duck and talk like a duck.-2 points
