  9. Plasi, if you want to call this an insurrection go for it. I think the evidence clearly shows it was not. If you will not listen to explanations other than it was an insurrection, then so be it. But you still haven't answered any of the questions I have posed about it so I'm guessing you are: mspart

  11. The people who denied adequate security really should be held responsible, The Chief of the Capital Police requested it weeks in advance yet was turned down by multiple times. A 5th grader would know that you have to have the security in place before the protests. If you have to call in security after the fact you have miserably failed your responsibility. Anyone who had half a brain would have known to have adequate security because of the political temperature at the time. Had the powers that be had just done their job we would not be having this conversation. The question we would like answered and investigated is why thy refused to protect the Capital.

  12. It seems to me that the fact that people are talking about the possibility that this student athlete might find a team to wrestle for in NAIA illustrates why continuing discussion of the issue (on a wrestling board) is not gratuitous. Not only would allowing him to injure another victim be immoral, one would think it would also expose the new university to substantial liability.

  13. The dad appears to have substantial sway. Does he honestly not understand that the behavior is unacceptable for student athletes, or does he facilitate this because he thinks that the notoriety derived from lawless and/or classless behavior will be ultimately financially rewarding through WWE, UFC, internet sales, etc.?

  15. Speaking of mothers, it needs to be emphasized again, how amazing and how great for the sport is Mrs. Lilliard? If you've read her posts that Mineo posted by screenshot, they are starkly honest, direct, dignified, and forceful -- and with zero malice toward the wrestler who injured her son. Although the subsequent events have been opaque, it appears that her decency and determination are the only things that have finally put a stop to this dangerous conduct.

  16. I think a rule to avoid alcohol during the season is reasonable. A year long rule would make liars and cheats out of most of the team, so counter productive.

  17. Ferrari just claimed that he was having racial slurs directed at him during the Soldier Salute from Iowa fans and that contributed to his reaction. He seems like a trustworthy guy, so I guess his actions were justified and all should be forgiven.

Look below again in what was said and how you responded. I'm not offended.... just confused why you think grown college men are considered a child? Do you really think my response to you at the bottom is an "aggressive manner" and "antagonizing someone"?

  22. With the apparent lack of ordnance, small arms, and organization, calling Jan 6 an insurrection is laughable. Calling it so does not make it so. If Trump is guilty of insurrection, then why is DOJ not charging him with that? Oh yeah, no evidence to pull that off. When was the last insurrection in a country not self described as a government takeover? When was the last insurrection acccomplished without weapons and explosives, fire and massive damage? An insurrection is a bloody revolutionary type action. Is that what happened on Jan 6? So insurrectionists leave after a couple of hours after being asked to vacate? I think it is apparent that an insurrection did not happen. Riot is a strong word but is probably applicable. Should people be prosecuted for trespass and the like? Yes. mspart

  32. All good. One tip for future reference - I'm steadily in the middle of the road in terms of politics. If you ever think any of my posts are "political", you've most likely confused me with someone else. The only time my posts are "political" is when I'm responding to someone who is either far left or far right. I dislike both groups' close mindedness. In return, both like to paint me as "left" or "right" - it's how simpletons think. They have great difficulty with the concept that we aren't, and shouldn't be, a country split in half that constantly opposes each other. We're mostly all on the same team, with mostly the same concerns, and we shouldn't lose sight of that being where we are strongest as a country. Especially in light of the chaotic behavior much of the rest of the world is seeing right now.

  36. Ohio State Buckeyes, 8-1 on the season with a nice finish at CKLV. B1G schedule starts in five days. Illinois on the 12th. Maryland on the 19th. Wisconsin on the 21st. Michigan on the 26th. Penn St. on the 2nd. Rutgers on the 4th. Indiana on the 11th. Michigan State on the 16th to finish up the dual season. All but one of these duals is winnable, with a question mark against Michigan (it's a home dual which should help). Mid Season report card. 125 Brendan McCrone, 13-6 overall. He's been good. McCrone is young and he looks it. He'll get better with experience. Quality wins over Camacho and Ventrusca. Lost close matches to Medley and Volk. He's going to miss Ramos, Smith, Ayala and McKee until the B1G tourney. C+ 133 Nic Bouzakis, 16-5 overall. Nic has taken some head scratching losses, and has had some quality wins. If he keeps his weight under control he's a tough out. He's been a terror on the backside. The schedule favors him the rest of the season. B- 141 Jesse Mendez, 15-1 overall. He's been really good. Last second loss to Matthews is his only blemish. He handled Hardy and Jack. Mendez has Bartlett and Moore left. He will miss Woods until the B1G tourney. A 149 Dylan D'Emilio, 17-4 overall. Having a great season. His pace is improved. Has beaten Arrington and Swiderski with losses to Arrington, Parco and Lovett. He still has Gomez and gets Lovett again. Will miss Van Ness(injury) and Voinovich until the B1G tourney. B 157 Paddy Gallagher, 16-5 overall. He's had a good season. He's been better on the mat and he's been finishing his shots. He still has Chumbley, Lewan and Haines. He'll miss Blaze, Franek and Robb until B1G. B- 165 Isaac Wilcox, 10-5 / Bryce Hepner, 2-1 - Wilcox won the early season wrestle off and has manned the 165 spot most of the season. Has a good win against Brady. He's been a solid wrestler for the Bucks. C- Bryce Hepner 2-1 overall. Had a close loss to Ramirez, unlucky not get to SV in that match. No Grade. It'll be interesting to see what happens the rest of the season here. Still have Fish, Gilcher, Messenbrink, Amine and Hamiti. 174 Carson Kharchla, 12-3 / Rocco Welsh, 11-1 overall. Kharch has a loss to #3, #7 and a medical. He's looked really good at 174, but the injuries wont leave him alone. A- If Kharchla is unable to finish the season we have a great, "backup" in Welsh. He's young, dynamic and pacey. His lone loss is a MFF. A Whomever mans the spot still has, Starocci, Griffith and Ruth on the schedule. We miss Kennedy/Arnold, Washington and Wilson until the B1G tourney. 184 Seth Shumate, 6-2 / Gavin Hoffman, 5-4 overall. Shumate began the season and had a good start at the Open tourneys. One of his losses was to his RS teammate, Rogotzke. Shumate hasn't wrestled since the Edinboro dual. I believe he gets some more matches in the future. C- Hoffman has wrestled the majority of the matches since. He's struggled, but OSU must believe he's their best option? This is not the Same Hoffman that beat Sloan, Bonaccorsi, Woodley, Bulsak, Caffey and Amos. We still wrestle Truax and Bullock but we miss Pinto, Salazar and Assad until the B1G tourney. D 197 Luke Geog, 7-5 overall. I've been waiting on Geog to start his OSU career. It's been a pretty bumpy start. Had a disappointing CKLV. A nice win over Smith(VT) Was beaten soundly by Stout of Pitt and TF'ed by Hidlay (NCST) I'm confidant he's going to be the guy at 197 for the future and this year is going to be an, "experience season." He still has to face Brooks, Smith, Braunagel and Poznanski. Geog misses Glazier and Allred until the B1G tourney. C- 285 Nick Feldman, 14-3 overall. We've all been waiting on Feldman. This season will serve as his real RS season as an injury early in 2022 and a subsequent surgery delayed his start as a Buckeye. Quality wins over Fernandes (2x) and Catka. Losses to Trephan, Ghiadiali (injured but finished) and Bastida. I feel much the same as I do about Geog when considering Feldman. This will be a learning season. Feldman is good now and if he stays healthy he'll become a force. He's small for the weight and length will be a problem for him. His low single has been his bread and butter. He's quick and agile for a guy built like an outhouse. Coming up Feldman will have Kerk, Davison, Slavikowski, Luffman and Nevills. Still not sure about Steveson. If he comes back we miss him until the B1G tourney. That's a tough finish to the season. A few other Buckeyes: 125 Vinnie Kilkeary, 17-6 overall. He's wrestled really well. Has wins over Lujan and Treaster. 7th at Midlands. 133 Andre Gonzales, 17-6 overall. Just no place for him on the roster. Has a win over Ragusin. 184 Ryder Rogotzke, 12-5 overall. He's been good and has nine falls on the season. Perhaps our best choice at 184. I'd rather he just keep the RS though. 'Rather throw ya than know ya."

  37. Understand the need for nuance. As for me, I would prefer that if you witness something like pedophilia on your own account, don't waste time with a police report. There are lots of explainable ways that someone could die by accident. And the world is always better for it. If saints really exist, then they are the people that murder pedophiles.

  41. I understand your point and don’t disagree necessarily. The issue lies in this There are multiple, not single “ehhh”/iffy cases, multiple cases where many people know something is up, or that a person shouldn’t be coaching/be around wresting. But that person has “powerful friends” or litigation could happen and it prevents the right things from being done. Or no one wants to believe.. and all that at least delays the right thing until it it becomes a ticking time bomb thet is going to eventually blow up, but everyone continues like it’s business as usual until it all crashes. Then afterwards, pretty everyone is like “yeah we heard/knew”. Do I have a point.. eh just that things/stories like this don’t come from nowhere and people are starting to get sick of them being ignored. Final point, both Willie/Rokfin and and Saylor/Flo are agreeing on something. That says a lot by itself

  42. No. That's not what I was referring to. If there is anything illegal going on, it should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Not lynched. They shouldn't be "drawn and quartered" or murdered in any other fashion as per the above post. These people are innocent until proven guilty. They should have a voice to defend themselves in the event they have may have been falsely accused. I read through some of the stuff, I didn't see any clear proof of anything - just accusations. As terrible as child abuse is, I can't get behind murdering people due to unfounded accusations. Not tolerating even starting this thread? That falls under the category of free speech. Again, something that I believe 100% needs to be tolerated - free speech shouldn't be met with being "drawn and quartered." That is exactly how some non-western countries behave due to their intolerance. And it is abhorrent.
