Oregon State OSUW of course.... Should be hearing something about a conference soon. they landed 2024 recruit Hunter Taylor who finished 2nd at Ironman with 2 ranked wins. Also landed Adrienne Reyes, Fargo champ out of CA - 2x state placer in CA. They have some good. young talent there from the last couple of recruiting cycles ..... Whisenhunt, Tolentino, Singleton, Attao, Rademacher, etc. Still have Olguin, Belton and Munoz for one more year after this one. Coaches are doing a great job there. GO BEAVS!5 points

Seen a lot of negativity on the forum lately and always the talk of what coaches need to be replaced so I figured we could use a positive post , programs going in the right direction my vote goes to Tim Flynn and West Virginia , Flynn had been ok so far fixing the absolute mess that was WVU wrestling. Flynn has had a an AA for 4 straight years If you count Noah Adams 2nd place the no tournament season- Adams 2020, Cardinale 21, Hall 22 , Cardinale 23. Recruiting has been on the rise and they now have a pretty competitive Dual team . Former #1 Recruit Jordan Titus is much improved at 141 , True Freshman and 2x Pa State champ Ty Watters has been strong 10-2 with a 67% bonus rate , another high level recruit from PA coming in next season in Rune Lawerence , plus throw in transfer ,last years NJCAA national champ Jett Strickenberger who already has wins over AA kaylor, R12 Poulin and NQ owens in his first month competing D1 and this could be WVU best year in a long time they currently have 3 guys who will be in the mix to AA ( Strickenberger, Titus, Hall) 2 other Freshman who have a shot to break through ( Watters and Conley) and 4 other guys who should be NQ. things are looking solid in Morgantown4 points

He had serious eye condition so seems fair enough right? Almost lost vision in his eye. Furthest thing from a heel I can think of. Source: being his old teammate4 points

UMD Hard to go anywhere but up from where they were 3 years ago win against Pitt last year was big won their first big ten dual in a decade last year Very young team. Several qualified for nationals last year. Likely all American this year (Jaxon) and two or three more who have a shot recruited a California state champ. That can’t be easy. Arrows pointing up! When I made this post the 2 teams I had in mind were WVU and Navy , I was hoping someone would bring up navy .Kolat has done a great job and even though a military academy is always going to have a ceiling in terms of how good they can be compared to Big 10 schools I could see Kolat eventually having a NC and competitive dual teams year in and year out3 points

I kinda think Zahid Valencia doesn't get enough credit for his heel energy. Great wrestler, gave attitude to his opponents, and the cocaine suspension was icing on the cake. Let's throw Zahid in the lineup at 184 (174 his best weight but he's stuck behind Starocci on Team Heel3 points

Little Rock. Nasir Bailey, Matty Bianchi, and Stephen Little make a strong young core. They're recruiting pretty well and I think have a lot of upside beyond this year. Kyle Dutton hurt his knee at the Tiger Style Invite and I'm not sure that he's healthy, but looked like a force up to the injury. They're one of those teams that I think could use the portal well as a smaller school for guys looking for a chance to start to round out their lineup, even if they're not a top guy.3 points

wtf is this supposed to mean? i posted several things from prominent, renowned scientists. and your response is that i saw that on social media? there's a term for that - it's called genetic fallacy - or dismissing something not because of the veracity of information, but because of where it came from. except you take it one idiotic step further b/c the original source wasn't actually social media. conversely, who told you man made climate change is real? what material/s have you looked through to convince you it was indeed the case? or did you just listen to Al Gore and John Kerry? i'd love to know, considering there's a long line of the best climatologists who destroy the notion.3 points

NC State. In the six years prior to Pat Popolizio taking the helm at NC State their average finish at the NCAA tournament was 39.5. Since he took over ten years ago they averaged 17.4, but in the last five years their average placement has been 9.4. This year they are projected to finish runners up. Prior to Popolizio, NC State had 3 AAs in six years. After Popolizio they nearly average 3 AA's per year (2.7). This year they should have 4 or 5 AAs.3 points

McCrone looks just small for 125. Heinselman, just not quite as good, skill-wise. Bouzakis is good. We doubted but he is a frosh. He will take lumps being a physical 133lber at the D1 level. Mendez... this wasn't Mendez wrestling down, it was Matthews wrestling to his actual ability. D'Emilio had me worried. I don't think 149 is a problem size-wise, I do think he is having some issue(s) adjusting to the weight still. I think he could really surge end-of-year. Paddy looks damn good. Real good. Wilcox shouldn't be our answer. I am hoping Hepner is good (enough) to go soon. I am wondering, long-term if Paddy at 165 and maybe Herman at 157 is a better option than Wilcox at 165? Just a thought. Or even give Chase a chance at 165? Or Paddy up at Brown at 157? Not sure, but I don't think it was more of Heller going out and winning as it was Wilcox also losing it. Guy is a go-getter typically and we didn't see that here. Kharch being hurt is a concern. Is it too early to medical and let Welsh go? I think Welsh could make some fun noise still. Either way I think tOSU pulls A at 174 at this point. Hoffman. Damn. What. The. Phuck. Not sure what is going on here. It is like he went back to the Hoffman that was at 184 and forgot about how much he has grown and learned. Another case like WIlcox against a Heller twin. Heller didn't go out and just win... Hoffman decided to let him get his ass kicked well and proper. Geog is small. He needs another year to get up to size, I think. He has the moxy to succeed and when it all comes together I think he will be fine. Pitzer was going to beat whoever (not named Feldman) that tOSU put out, so the dual was gone either way. At this point, let Hoffman go 285 and put Shumate in at 184. We knew that at least seven of those matches were going to be batshit tough. I was wrong on 149 not being tough, unless you ignore the first four (4) minutes. 157 and 285 were not close, which was expected. Pitt just came to dance.3 points

Gotta be Michigan I would think. He's been training at Cliff Keen - they are also one of the places in the US that is probably the capital for people that wrestle for different country world teams. Serbia, San Marino, Mexico, Italy, and Israel (in addition to the US)2 points

Simons for sure. 4x NAIA (4x OW)/3x NCAA (2x OW), 2x olympian including once during enrollment. So I get to pick only 4? Well then Uetake, Hodge, and Simons are occupying three of those spots on this hypothetical Mt. Rushmore.2 points

Now all he needs is the signature of his last coach. Shouldn't be a problem. Who was that again?2 points

Brooks being in his fifth season is like taking a redshirt. He won't get a sixth year. No different than Sanderson taking a redshirt and then going four for four. Starocci did take a redshirt. If he goes four for his first four it is the same as anyone else. It is really just his fifth title that would be tainted by the fact that only he and all the other 2021 freshman (true or redshirt) got five chances. So if they each win their fourth this year it isn't because of any extra chances.2 points

57 KG is interesting to me in the sense that it appears to be much less exciting with the current entries. You gents know and understand how I like to do my tiers... I wouldn't be surprised to see someone lose to someone one tier below them or defeat someone one tier above them. What makes 57 KG interesting is that because of there being seemingly nobody in Tier 3, that it essentially makes it a Three Horse Race, even if I see Lee as a tier above. What is also neat/interesting is that I don't see anybody from the next tier (Tier 4 because Tier 3 is empty) losing to anyone else currently entered nor do I see them challenging the Tier 2 gents. So aside from a deck, injury, or someone's fiance cheating on one of them... 57 KG is pretty boring. Aw come on, he's just a back-up. AJ's the starter. :] But I agree, not really a heel. I was a fan. Just not many D1 guys to have been DQ'd more than once for unsportsmanlike conduct. That's gotta get you at least an HM.1 point

Good dual. Interesting since Matthews was really the only Pitt win that was particularly close (although 125 an upset). So even if that result changes they still would’ve needed a Feldman win over Pitzer which would’ve been a good match.1 point

What about Kent State? They just lost to Gannon. I am not up to date with D2, but I don't think they are a Central State (aka University of Central Oklahoma for the youngsters). They haven't been producing the AA's that they were. That also doesn't help any of the MAC programs that might be in trouble or even thinking of bringing back the program. Kent read, Kent write, Kent State.1 point
