  2. Question: in looking at Final X participants, are the 20 guys fighting for the 10 MFS weights, the most decorated of all time? I have no records to compare, but have to think that it is: 57kg: Gilman. Multiple medals 61kg: Vito/Nakhon. No world medals 65: Yianni. Medalist 70: Zain. Medalist 74: Dake. Multiple medals 79: JB. with Multiple medals 86: Taylor. Magic Man with Multiple medals 92: Mach/Zahid: strong international resume 97: Snyder / Cox: tremendous amount of combined medals 125: Gable. Gold Medalist Any other year compare?

  8. They were competitive with Bellarmine this year, coming down to the last match. With both programs transitioning to D1, good measuring stick. I’m a fan of Lindenwood, I went to Lindenwood-Belleville when it was still a thing

  9. I remember that as well. I’m young-ish, I’m 40. FHC wrestler and grad in 2001. Not born and raised, but we moved to Mo from Georgia when I was in second grade. The GAC produced some of the best wrestler to ever come from MO.

  10. I’m a born and raised St. Charles boy. I can remember when lindenwood used to be two old buildings and an old water tower. Lindenwood started out an etiquette school for girls, that’s why all the giant house across the street, sororities.

  11. Lindenwood, i grew up 15 min from there. Ive seen lots of great matches over there. Honestly can’t wait to see how they do once they are fully D1. Still not sure which conference they will join. I would imagine the next couple recruiting classes will give us a hint as to how they room will look.

  12. It's clickbait and has zero value. Here's a question I put in the other day. Why is Gray Simons one of the greatest American wrestlers ever? ChatGPT I'm sorry, but as of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, I couldn't find any information about Gray Simons as one of the greatest American wrestlers. It's possible that Gray Simons is a relatively new or lesser-known wrestler who gained prominence after my knowledge cutoff date. Without additional information about Gray Simons or their achievements, it is challenging to provide a specific assessment of their status as one of the greatest American wrestlers ever. Wrestling has a rich history in the United States, with many exceptional athletes who have made significant contributions to the sport. If you have any specific details or accomplishments about Gray Simons, I may be able to provide more insight.

  13. 14th Amendment was passed as a result of the civil war soon after that war. It is dealing with effects from that war. But because it is now part of the Constitution, it is not limited to civil war times or eras. It still applies to our condition today. Hence the idea that the 14th Amendment can be used to solve the debt ceiling crisis. Here are the pertinent passages from the amendment. Section 4. The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned. But neither the United States nor any state shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void. For those so inclined, explain how this passage can be used to resolve the debt crisis we are currently heading towards or explain how it cannot be used. I am confused about the use of this. I think the calculus is that they can say it, do an executive order and make it happen before SCOTUS says they can't. They already made it happen which is how Biden is hoping to do the student debt relief. It is a dirty trick that should not be used. It makes the President both Legislative and Executive, which is not a good thing for a democracy or republic. I'm inclined to disagree with the use of the 14th amendment for the debt ceiling purpose but don't have a strong opinion either way on this one. I know it has been cited that scholars disagree on using this but the admin seems to like it. Looking to learn from all you wrestling/constitutional experts out there!! mspart

  18. For a guy who hates pro wrestling so much, he certainly likes to use its parlance to annoy me - and yes - he does it (or at least started doing it) to annoy me. Commitment to the gimmick I guess. The moment I say it at the NCAAs is the moment I quit doing what I do. When you hear me say it at NCAAs, it means I've given up on all hope and just don't care about the quality of work or respect for our sport.

  19. Wow. In another "X" years, we can debate which are the top ten chatbots that do the best job of ranking NCAA wrestlers over the last 50 years. What a thing to look forward to, huh? I should say you guys can debate... By then, my clicker may be 6 ft under. BTW, I've yet to see one of those chatbots that I'd rate as anything but worthless.

  20. You want to say it at NCAAs. You NEED to say it at NCAAs. pinfall, Pinfall, PINFALL. As an aside, I had a chuckle the other day when I was watching either a Jason Nolf or a Bo Nickal highlight video. I had to rewind to make sure I heard it right, but sure enough, Christian Pyle said pinfall. And who among us do not aspire to be like CP?

  21. Sort of feel this way...not sure this is a solution that addresses a specific problem. Closes thing I saw is it is in response to crime increase in ATL...but then the person who came up with it didn't mention that rather spoke about how this was for a specific clientele - executives, celebrities, and such that would need armed protection, but those folks probably would have that anyway. And the person went on to say it would also be available for people, parents and kids who are looking for piece of mind. Sounds like there is a stringent recruitment process for the drivers and the job is marketed to ex police, military, bodyguards, etc...more importantly those trained with weapons and are licensed in specific states they would work in. I can't believe there is an insurance company who would license this, but then again, I know there is. Just sort of weird I guess...but like you said, it seems like a solution looking for a problem.

  24. First, the House has presented a bill to the Senate. It is not blackmail as you suggest, it is reducing spending that got us in the inflation trouble we are in, and it is increasing the debt limit. That is a compromise position. That is what democracy is about. The previous Congress authorized that spending and threw us into massive inflation. The current Congress, a correction by the voters, wants to reduce that spending. Effectively that is what the voters voted for is it not? https://www.cnn.com/2023/05/23/politics/cnn-poll-debt-ceiling-increase-spending-cuts/index.html Demonstrably so. Which is why Biden decided to "negotiate" but he is not doing much to move the ball to completion. What is morally and ethically bankrupt is having put us in this position in the first place. Frankly, the D's and Rs should take full responsibility with that from 2001 and on. The R's are taking a stand against runaway spending right now, the D's are saying that is blackmail. Who is morally and unethical? A proposal that offers fiscal discipline later for relief now, will never materialize later. It never does. No one that is anyone in constitutional law expertise circles thinks the 14th amendment being bandied about is a solution. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2023/05/23/debt-limit-solution-14th-amendment/ If you think the Rs are negotiating in bad faith by saying debt ceiling rise comes with spending reductions, let's look at the D's position. No change to spending and a rise in the debt ceiling - period. And they are holding to that apparently trying to put the Rs in the hot seat. The R's have a plan to resolve this, the D's don't. I understand there are different ways to look at this, but that is how I look at this. Compromise is the art of democracy. So which side is on the side of democracy in this case? We can all decide. Those on the left that say our democracy is in danger need to look inside themselves and ask tough questions, because it is clear in my opinion. mspart

  27. As a person who created an artificial intelligence algorithm with, admittedly, a very different purpose in grad school, I have to say that it's completely beholden to the biases and interests of the creator of the algorithm. I'm wondering if the list is basically weighting internet searches, programs, etc. I could see how a single time AA from Iowa could have far more searches than a single time NCAA champ, multi-time AA from a MAC school.
