Arujau is definitely not a sleeper. 133 along with many other weight classes just don't get discussed much on this board. The board spends more time talking about if Spencer Lee could beat Cael Sanderson when in their primes or is so & so a "meanie".3 points

Yes they did, but the NCAA... I mean the other conferences.... didn't like them having a longer break than the other teams.2 points

Good win for the Beavs today... we have looked sluggish for a couple matches.2 points

I will admit the broadcasting style is growing on me. Complete silence then someone shouting "FOUR POINT NEARFALLLLL!" then more silence then chainsaw sound2 points

Well then, I gotta ask. Has anyone other than Kyle Burwick beaten both Spencer Lee and Gable Steveson in folk or freestyle?2 points

Bono is the only coach that hasn't signed off on the system upgrade. He has a pen and he just won't do it2 points

Not exactly. For example, Penn State and Ohio State have over 30 sports and show an actual appreciation for non-revenue and Olympic sports. It's easy to spot the difference - P5's cutting sports like cross country and tennis and golf due to "expense" is the biggest farce.1 point

Was actually a pretty good segment I thought. With it being him and Clark I’m guessing the implication is maybe just U of Iowa GOAT?1 point

Its the best match and the best broadcast this weekend, can't complain too much. wOSU at least makes it free instead of needing to subscribe to Pac12. Plus where else are ya gonna get a little chainsaw music.1 point

Yes, we have a camp up near Camptown USA Bradford County. Its a beautiful drive from WIlliamsport. When anyone is visiting State College and they happen to have an extra day I always recommend the drive up to Elk country Benezette through Quehanna Wild Area1 point

I saw he finished in 3rd, losing in the semifinals 2-1 to the eventual champ (who won in OT). Still a great finish for a freshman.1 point

Sleeper nah. A surprise if he wins it all, maybe. Think you are misusing using the term for the dramatics.1 point

Suriano was hosed. Loses 2-1 but he was put on the clock twice. KAZ did absolutely nothing except hold ground for the first period. He took no shots, and Suriano actually drove him out twice. One time for a point and the other should have been given a point as well but they ruled it grounded. BS. He was clearly the aggressor. That grounding rule needs to be changed.1 point

I’m Not in the know how it is run. Here in Indiana, as pointed out in another thread, the wrestling state tournament,is one of the best high school events in the country.1 point

Just so it’s clear. It’s not just SDSU guys that have.. mixed opinions on Bono. Similar issues have popped up everywhere he’s gone. Wisconsin as a state is in a pickle. They finally are relevant as a hs state but none of their kids are staying. The real problem is youth culture, Askren is succeeding so we’ll because he’s powerful enough to nip the normal youth toxicity and burnout out of his clubs wrestling and development. Especially the dads. He can just kick them out and move on. He also coaches like normal kids can become elite. Almost anyone who tries to beat Askrens results and provide an alternative for Wisconsin in less than 10 years will run into the same toxic dad coach issues undercutting wrestling and he’ll still be churning out studs. People get butthurt about what he says about youth wrestling.. but the way he’s doing things where youth doesn’t matter so much and they’re genuinely trying to create kids who actually want to wrestle for 30 years is working1 point

Ah yes, Cincinnati...1972, 126 pounds defending NCAA Champion and Oklahoma State great loses on injury default to Howard Fox (Cinci/coach Stan Able)....Fox gets pinned next round and is out. This opened the door for a freshman Pat Milkovich to win his first NCAA title.1 point

Can't see an unproven wrestler getting 7 million in NIL earnings. What's the upside for the people donating for NIL appearances etc. Face it folks, this ain't football and/or basketball. Not that many people pay attention to wrestling.1 point

All it would take for this situation to be resolved is a quick signature from Bono. He won't sign it1 point

correct and slips have helped greco just based on the overly technical nature of the sport and how fine the margins really are at the pointy end... i do not feel they are as necessary in the other styles and if they were kicked to the curb in those it would not bother me at all...1 point

Losing to Vito and RBY isn't exactly going to shake things up because 1.) RBY is the top seed, clearly, and 2.) Vito isn't in the conference. Mendez has earned the No. 2 seed at the B1G Tournament. The good news for Byrd is that he'll have a chance to wrestle in the same tournament on the same side of the bracket. Hopefully he won't be devastated because of his seeding and wrestles to the best of his ability. Side note: Does Illinois care about its wrestling team? I wanted to check Byrd's results and the stats link on the Illini website has 21-22 final stats. That's horrible for a B1G school.1 point

I'd like to risk it all on, no Yianni in a B1G final.1 point

After a dismal performance at NCAA's by the Cowboys a crying John Smith is interviewed to announce that he "loves this team, so much" and he has signed a new 20 year contract.1 point

Can I just pick one of them? If so, I will pick no on Yianni making a B1G final.1 point

I don't know if I'm harsh here. The SEC run from 1972-1980 ended up with 21 All-Americans After the breakup, that left the remaining schools in the East and Midwest Regions (depending on the year) to place 19 wrestlers from 1981-85. So the Auburn, LSU, Tennessee, Kentucky crew was more prolific after the conference broke up. The SEC got 21 AA's out of 142 qualifiers in those 9 years sponsoring the sport, while the four (then three teams left as Auburn's last year was 1981) provided 19 AA's out of 69 qualifiers in those 5 years. SEC schools had some fierce wrestlers, but the SEC as a whole, the conference was not great. Georgia, Alabama and Florida collectively earned 1 All-American from 1972-1980.1 point

Those two have great pinning, near fall and ride out potential every match. They can really tear up the back side of any bracket making them consistent threats to All American. And now it appears they’re stepping up their neutral game. I’d like to see em wrestle Courtney and Glory1 point
