Exactly....Is getting two escapes getting through Carr's defense? Nope. He didn't have to.2 points

I did, typed "just for fun" knowing that would get Bob's attention then Save. Like said it disappeared and then later came back, figured Bob thought I'd had "just enough fun." ¯\_(ツ)_/¯2 points

Here's my total ILLINI homer preview of 125 to 157. I only discuss top fifty wrestlestat.com rated wrestlers. I'm a ranking snob. Here's 165 to 285. This tournament was the tits last year. You get the starters, reserves and true freshmen. Nonstop action. Don't **** it up, Flo. Cheers!2 points

One of my more memorable ones, in person, was Brent Metcalf VS Dustin Schlatter at the Medina Holiday Invite their respective senior scholastic seasons: As an avid Davison follower and supporter in the Roy Hall from the late 1990s on, there was a certain aura of invincibility around Brent heading in to his senior season. Many people intimate to the scene believed that he was the best 145lber (ever) but would be not just a contender for a title at the D1 level, but a favorite to win. When Schlatter took it to him at his own game (Metcalf won in rideouts), folks started to understand a little bit that we were entering a new era of middle weight depth. People absolutely believed that Metcalf was the truth AND that we had 'other' truths in the chamber. Everyone who left after seeing that match had not just a high respect but a complete belief that what they saw was special.2 points

Stieber has a JV World Championship to go with his 4 NCAAs, so that should bump him up a littler above Lee.2 points

What are some that you think you will remember for a long time? Three that I have stuck in my head are: Bart Chelsvig vs. Kevin Randlemann Big 10 Finals 1992 I believe. It was a good old fashion brawl. Even Russ and Gable nearly went to blows. The same year Tom Brands vs. Joey Gilbert. The final score was 23-15 or something close to it. You are missing out if you have never seen Gilbert shoot a single from the other side of the mat. The Durso Run at nationals was a hell of a fun ride! (Lesser known, but fun none the less)1 point

Refs are needed. Many folks on this board seem to know a lot. They love the sport. They can contribute in a big way. Throw your hat in … be a ref. Sport needs you. The kids need you. Pay is not incredible but hey, you are getting paid. Will help you appreciate the sport even more.1 point

Absolutely. He’d make a great head coach some day, if he wants to go that route. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

What has swiderski done? I'll im aware of is that he got a push from Flo, and lazy four eyed ignorant dorks like Pyles do this based on which coaches take the time to bully them.1 point

Nickerson vs Long - Nickerson coming back from injury - puts a smack down on Long Burroughs vs Leen - loved Leen’s fire and effort. Burroughs - wow. Dake vs Taylor - all star and finals. Finals - Dake was so damn technical, smooth, and strong. Out smoothed and out technicaled a guy who I am still in awe of. Garrett vs Delgado - Delgado’s defense, dive roll - arghhh!! Snyder vs Gwiz - Epic!!! Nickal vs Martin (second finals) - Bo to his back!! Correcton!! Martin to HIS back!! Nickal vs Dean - great match. Sad finish.1 point

I was born a few months after the '67 riots and had family hurt, grievously, on both sides. We didn't move to Novi until ~1975? Some if my superstitions were quite dark for some time. My nephews and grandkiddos, though? I have one that listens to only shuffle dance electro during warmups. He lost to some kid he had never lost to before when his ipod broke? Swears it cost him the match. I have one who has different colored shoes with matching leggings. He alternates them depending on home/away and doesn't wash his socks once the season starts. My grandaughter wears a purple singlet under her blue and reds. I remember an old high school teammate wore a shoulder brace even though he never had any shoulder issues. His grandfather swore by it that it helped with throw defense and he believed him 110% all through high school.1 point

Yeah good point for the thread that's what was at issue. So I'll use this to rant. For a message board odds discussions like this are good fodder. But this gambling stuff has gotten out of control on TV and radio. I just want to drill a hole in my head when entire shows are devoted to spreads when the time could be used to cover, you know, the games. The extent to which games are watched and covered for the point spread or other thing besides the outcome is weird to me. The point of the game is to win. That's it.1 point

I'd take Downey over Ferarri in MMA. Downey now has some legit experience plus rolled with Gordan Ryan. Both have mouths that need sewn shut, but otherwise, would be fun to watch.1 point

I've been inner city for 25+yrs. Care about them and make an environment they want to be in. Siblings help too. It'll take a bit of time, but if you have the time you won't regret taking it. All the best. Keep us tuned in.1 point

It is an easier thing to do if you are a teacher on staff there, but #1 thing I would say is to walk the halls. In between classes get the word out there as much and often as possible. If even one kid comes out from that you have won. Maybe you could talk to the Principal, Vice Principal, or AD(if there is one) and walk the halls with them, or walk around during the lunch periods with them. Get them to bridge the gap with the names, if they can. They can also help to point out some of the gents who might be in troubling situations that need the focused distractions that a wrestling season provides. Get something out in the school newsletter(s) or on the school pages (facebook/twitter/etc for the school or other athletics). Post 'I Want You' posters or other adds in the halls, weight rooms, etc. Make sure you talk to whoever has the authority to okay that and do your vest to not step on toes. What Roy Hall did required a lot of support from the school, the parents, the students, and the entire community and he got them. It takes a village, so use the village to help you and build as many relationships as you can to help you - both directly and indirectly. Knowing more names is better than less.1 point

hey @Spladle08 glad to see you here. One thing that always bothered me was a particular thread where you harassed me nonstop and made it REALLY uncomfortable. Let's not do that again because you're cool and that was super weird considering same team and such. Anyways, see you at the cookout this summer #iykyk1 point

Everyone knows Bono is petty and vindictive. This is why you don’t go to a school with a coach like that. Also, educate yourself on rules.1 point

I swear, if Teemer bring out means Will Lewan wins NCAAs, I’ll never forgive him. Everyone else at 157 must preserve their health in order to prevent such a horrific event. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Finally to a computer. My access doesn't give me detailed logs on things - I was never the server or site administrator, I just had some next level mod/admin access when needed. What I can say is my post went through at 9:32 CDT. The only thing I can say definitively is I was browsing threads on Tapatalk when it blanked out. I opened the browser and posted the new thread. It appears the time the lights were turned off was 9:30 CDT, putting my post in "after the whistle" since I can still see what's on the board, but I wouldn't know I had any different access until after the fact. I had my computer packed up since I had an early flight this morning. So I TRULY didn't know what time they were going out, other than I tried to get one in there at the end, not to steal anyone else's glory, but to pay homage to the OGs with the lockup word from the previous iteration of the board, magistrate. My access didn't allow me any logs that displayed timestamps in a clean view. I never dove that deep into server logs, etc when I was at USAW. I may have looked at the admin panel 2-3x a year after I left 10 years ago. If they (logs) do exist, I don't know where to find them. The moderation view does allow me to click on an IP address and see the most recent posts from that IP, so that allowed me to see that my post was two minutes AFTER the last actual post on the board. Now possessing that knowledge, I moved my post to the deleted bin, so I can say the very last posts on the board both came at 9:30 p.m. - and based on the order in the thread, @GreatWhiteNorthgot one in, but @jross posted right after it, at 9:30. @ionel's post on the Last Word thread came at 9:17 p.m. Here's that last thread and the last three posts (not by anyone with admin access) on the board. I hope that clarifies it. I honestly didn't know everyone else was locked out when I posted. Now I do. Even in death, that forum was causing me a headache.1 point
