so far Adrian Meza, Manny Rojas, and Tate Naaktgeboren have entered the portal for the cyclones.  Perhaps more to come if they recruit over some guys.

The covid year had to be used in 2020-2021.  It could not be used any other year.  So the high school class of 2020 would be the last to use it.  If a class of 2019 wrestler redshirted and then wrestled all 5 years straight or a class of 2020 wrestled all 5 years stright without a redshirt then last year (2024-2025) would have been there last year.  A class of 2019 wrestler that reshirted before wrestling 5 years making use of the covid year in 2020-2021 was Carter Starocci.  A class of 2020 wrestler that wrestled as a true freshman 5 years straight would be Keegan O'Toole.  

If a class of 2020 wrestler wrestled as a true freshman in 2020-2021 and then later took a redshirt this would be their last season.  An example of this is Hunter Catka.  He wrestled as a true freshman in the covid year 2020-2021 then redshirted the next year 2021-2022 before wrestling the next 4.  This was his last NCAAs.  This would be the last tournament we see a wrestler that wrestled at NCAAs in 2021 using the usual 1 redshirt in 5 years.

Still there are some wrestlers from the 2021 NCAA season that will be back next.  This is because they got a second redshirt for one reason or another (injury, Olympics, mission?).  One example is AJ Ferrari.  He also was in the high school class of 2020.  He wrestled as a true freshman in the covid year (2020-2021) and his true sophomore year (2021-2022) before his car accident ended his season.  He had a redshirt so that was used whilst he was not enrolled in 2022-2023.  He was also not enrolled in 2023-2024 and was eligible for an Olympic redshirt so that was a second redshirt.  He wrestled at Cal State Bakersfield in 2024-2025 using his second year of eligibility.  This year at Nebraska he used his third year.  He has stated in an interview that he might have another year yet, but I don't really see how.  Maybe he think he can get an injury year for 2021-2022, but that seems unlikely.

Zepeda may fit fine at 157 depending on what happens with Cardenas. Valencia is a career 149. I have no clue either guys academics but just dreaming since it’s a rough day.

Yeah, he's a tough loss there. Guessing he wanted to stay at 174 and didn't want to sit. Otherwise, he had a good shot of going 184.... unless they already have a portal guy coming in.

That's certainly plausible. This means that Minto is definitely staying at 174 now (which I figured he would but it seems officially official now). Some interesting names in the portal. Maybe Berge if he can make 184? Regardless, they've shown an ability to help transfers really peak and Tervel being there for the upper weights is attractive for recruits IMO.

Minto should absolutely stay 174 if he can make it next year. It didn't even look like Minto and Levi were in the same weight class, dude was gigantic

Different from David Carr and Perry going around at ncaas making real offers to guys with no consequence bc they aren’t technically on staff

Iowa state is the only team who was so obvious about it that the almighty Cael felt compelled to stir the pot and say something and their 4 main targets that they offered (Cardenas , Garvin, Norman and Novak) were all known on wrestling forums the day after ncaas so yea this seems like a fair one to latch onto. Dresser DGAF about rules lol
