  1. Spencer Lee getting hurt is a damn near a guarantee
  2. Man I have some news that's going to absolutely make your blood boil. I heard when Mitchell Mesenbrink was a kid he stepped on a crack. and he didn't even care that he broke his mother's back! what an absolute devil of a man! . You and me see through his facade. He's actually a guy planted from the BJJ community sent to destroy wrestling from within
  3. I already said he improved at Iowa. I'm not arguing on that. Iowa has more funds for International competition than Oklahoma. But once again, they got a man who got 3rd twice to 1st. It's not the same as what they did with Caliendo
  4. I'm not saying he didn't improve at Iowa. What I am saying is that it's disingenuous to act like they didn't have somebody already preassembled that wasn't already of champion caliber. His placings before Iowa were 8th, 3rd, 3rd. To act like there's no chance he could've won it at Oklahoma is just Hawkeye deepthroating
  5. Wasn't he also a three time AA that placed third before transferring to Iowa? what did they really need to teach him?
  6. If a team is having an issue with getting taken down due to the danger rule is the solution to hire Dean Heil just because he's a two time Natty champ?
  7. Incoming topic post about this topic post
  8. that he is definitely not lol
  9. I can't believe this is even a topic. Who cares? You guys call his speech cringy. You call him an arrogant jerk for trying to shake everyone's hands on the podium. You just don't like the fact that he wins. Other wrestlers have done WAY worse and don't get half the criticism. Not every person good at sports has a great personality. Wake me up when he starts trying to intentionally injure people or throwing hissy fits because he lost or something.
  10. Meyer Shapiro has finished worse in each consecutive year. 3rd to 5th to 8th. Plus he's a health risk considering he was in a coma and had lung failure. Schools will pay but I'd be surprised if it was top dollar. But why would kasak be damaged goods? he's a two time 3rd place finisher
  11. I agree with you and i just disagree on execution. I think the refs need to call stalling more I think that fixes the issue. Too many wrestlers are relying on rideouts to get a win, not only is it horrible to watch but it encourages antiwrestling. Either take more risk and initiate offense or lose like Minto and Mcgowan because of stall calls.
  12. Oh yeah true I forgot Allred got injured. I definitely think he can AA, I just don't think he's offensive enough to be able to eek out close matches with the elite, but who know? maybe Jacob Warner could teach him some magic to make it to the finals
  13. Gabe arnold AND Mcenelly went into overtime with Dylan Fishback at 184 is he a title contender even though he didn't place? What about Silas Allred? he lost to Mcenelly in overtime and didn't place either
  14. Thats absolutely horrible logic Didn't Nasir Bailey take Sergio Vega to overtime? What place did he get again? he's not a title contender for next year Didn't Koy Buesgens beat Aden Valencia this year? What place did he get again? He's not considered a title contender for next year Lilledahl went to overtime with Bouzakis. What place did Bouzakis end up getting again? Jore Volk went to overtime with Lilledahl and took 7th. You think overtime guarantees you can make the finals? Dude got 7th at 197, which everyone said was a weak weight class all year. I'm not saying Gabe Arnold is bad but he's hasn't shown anything to be good enough to win it
  15. There's no way you seriously just said Gabe Arnold is a champion contender
  16. I'm sure that won't lead to any controversial matches...
  17. Maybe. Do the Ferraris actually wrestle back for third if they lose? Does Meyer Shapiro choke at NCAAS again? Can Crookham actually finish a season without getting injured? I could see third if maybe everything goes perfectly. And that’ll never happen. Somebody HAS to get hurt it’s the Hawkeye way
  18. First of all "Made Money" is not the same as "Made Profit". The University of Iowa is a state school, it's a nonprofit so anything extra gets reinvested into the school. They don't usually track profitability they track revenue and compare it to the budget, but since you're too lazy to do the research I did the research. According to the U.S. Department of Education's Equity in Athletics Data Analysis (EADA): University of Iowa Athletics Grand Total Revenues: $173,213,951 so slightly off with my previous statement of 174. Don't know why my other source rounded it. University of Iowa Athletics Grand Total Expenses: $150,493,777 So that leaves a surplus of:$22,720,174 oh no! talk about burning money! https://ope.ed.gov/athletics/#/institution/details There's the link for you. Feel free to look for yourself. All you have to do is search for University of Iowa Maybe I need to make a new account and name it "WinnerJucoMan" As an extra here are the total operating expenses of the top five placing NCAA wrestling teams Penn State: $834,890 Oklahoma State: $616,317 Nebraska: $248,394 Iowa: $978,835 Ohio State: $455,395
  19. Well I would consider the Brands to be control freaks personally. Control usually comes from fear so I'm not saying they are I just wouldn't be surprised if that was the case
  20. Here's an interesting thought I just had: Maybe Tom doesn't want a national champ assistant coach in the fear they might get a head coaching position somewhere and poach the wrestlers just like he did at Virginia Tech, or maybe they're afraid the dude can change the game there so much he ends up pushing the Brands out like Cael did Bobby Douglas. The D1 coaching game can be super cutthroat. What David Taylor, one of Cael's greatest athletes is doing at Okie State right now is probably not helping their confidence. Especially considering how lackluster Iowa's season was right before they were able to somewhat get it together at nationals
  21. I'm just saying if someone is paying tuition they should have the opportunity to compete for their school regardless of age and for four years with gaps in time if they choose so. I'm not sure what you're point is exactly, but If it's about NIL I don't care. The athletes deserve to get a piece of the pie. And it's really not that much when you look at it overall. Some people say Jacori Teemer made $500k going to Iowa, at the same time Iowa athletics made 174 million in 2024. When you look at the big picture NIL barely pays anything.
  22. I can see someone suing their university because they're too old to participate in athletics but still have to pay the student fees towards athletics. It's a slippery slope.
  23. I thought I was the only person here that remembered Handsome Tuesdays
  24. How would he even look for another year? He came way too late for a free covid year and he was a four time all american. Tell him to take his ass to freestyle lol
