How will the lineup be handled when it was pretty likely they were previously planning on using some creative shuffling to make it work. Zero chance any seniors from this past year get awarded another year due to this rule. Who will get hurt is the guys committed to schools who planned to get creative with redshirts to fit all the studs in. Think PSU and Oklahoma State. It won’t be an option now so I would guess there will be some people reconsidering their options once the rule passes. The NCAA needs to get their ducks in a row and make the decision sooner rather than later so people can decide what is best for them.

I don’t know if this applies to Bono but not all coaching contracts are like football and basketball, specifically related to the buyouts. Most people just take the total money left on the table and thinks that is the buyout but it’s not always the case. For Example, Brands is under contract for a few more years but after June his buyout is only $500k. I would think a savvy AD who does 5 year rolling contracts would not be so foolish that they would have to buyout the total contract in the event of termination.

Barring some unexpected transfers (assuming they get a 165) it looks like Iowa will be “homegrown” at 125, 149, 157, 174, 184, 197 and 285. That is in line with most other power schools in this era. Even PSU and Nebraska will only be slightly better with 8 non transfers.
