This website is a commercial arrangement, pure and simple. That fact was driven home to all of us not so long ago when the new ad service was employed. We are the product that is being sold to advertisers. I have been supportive of that arrangement both publicly and privately. People should be compensated for their work. And it is a fair trade off, in my mind, to have ads in exchange for attention. But it is also important to distinguish that is not the same as free.

To then have the admin then act like we are children who need to be punished for the temerity of expecting work in exchange for the sale of our attention is not an arrangement I am interested in. For your sakes I hope my departure will precipitate the return of reactions. And I hope the admin will come to his senses and realize that punishing the product is not a formula for increasing revenue that is dependent on users and their attention.

On a final note there are two things I enjoyed doing (and I think users enjoyed participating in) that I hope someone else will pick up. First is the Iowa v PSU dual predictions thread. Even if the outcome this year is pretty close to a foregone conclusion I think it is a great way for neutrals to participate in a partisan debate. Second is a newer addition. The Darkhorse Derby helped me to enjoy the NCAA tournament more than I had previously by getting deep in the weeds of the lower seeds. As a PSU fan it is too easy to just focus on the AA level guys, but there is so much more to this tournament than just the top eight. And there are few things more exciting or engaging than a huge upset.

This would be quite sad for me personally and for the whole community.  WKN's contributions are significant and I happen to think he's a great chap.  

I respect your decision WKN.  If you find a good home elsewhere, let us know where we can visit.  And maybe some of of might even come with you.

And no you don't have to pay, but I did have to register.  I joined to get extra wrestling content...though on Iowa's board, they said I must be Bo Bassett's family because I bothered to mention their sour grapes that were constantly going on!

I am equally surprised the reactions were removed for such minor comments as I am that someone would quit posting because the reactions were removed.

Couldn't agree more. WKN provides some of the most fun topics by providing raw numbers for us to argue with based on opinions. I'd probably argue that WKN is the greatest contributor to the forum when it comes to providing genuine content to discuss. @BobDole retaliating against him is like a TV station cancelling their most viewed program that provides their content for free. He's a f*cking idiot. Is there anyone on this entire forum that isn't pro-WKN? Doubtful.
