I have spent a few days thinking about this and have decided that I am uninterested in being somewhere I am not welcome. So after a brief hiatus I logged back in to say fare thee well fellow wrestling fans. I have enjoyed my time here, but will be taking a break. At some point I may change my mind, but this is my current thinking.

This website is a commercial arrangement, pure and simple. That fact was driven home to all of us not so long ago when the new ad service was employed. We are the product that is being sold to advertisers. I have been supportive of that arrangement both publicly and privately. People should be compensated for their work. And it is a fair trade off, in my mind, to have ads in exchange for attention. But it is also important to distinguish that is not the same as free.

To then have the admin then act like we are children who need to be punished for the temerity of expecting work in exchange for the sale of our attention is not an arrangement I am interested in. For your sakes I hope my departure will precipitate the return of reactions. And I hope the admin will come to his senses and realize that punishing the product is not a formula for increasing revenue that is dependent on users and their attention.

On a final note there are two things I enjoyed doing (and I think users enjoyed participating in) that I hope someone else will pick up. First is the Iowa v PSU dual predictions thread. Even if the outcome this year is pretty close to a foregone conclusion I think it is a great way for neutrals to participate in a partisan debate. Second is a newer addition. The Darkhorse Derby helped me to enjoy the NCAA tournament more than I had previously by getting deep in the weeds of the lower seeds. As a PSU fan it is too easy to just focus on the AA level guys, but there is so much more to this tournament than just the top eight. And there are few things more exciting or engaging than a huge upset.

See you around the pool.

I was afraid of this not seeing any posts and even asked if you may have martyred yourself. Please remember that the people here have even anointed you the best most professional poster. You were a scapegoat.  Bob and the staff figured that the total posts were less because these reactions do not count as posts. They will not change this so do not martyr yourself for this reason, its purely business as usual. If you I'm going too (watch out for Blue Viking)

A lot of us did. Wish I knew more to the story but everyone has a limit.

I have no idea what's going on, I was missing for too long. Sounds like I missed a lot of drama.

Absolutely no drama.

The overreaction to missing reactions is juvenile. Especially considering we have the same reactions...🚬

Don't want to see you go.  Take a break and come back soon, at least by Jan for the real season.

In the meat time ... swim well my friend!  🏊‍♂️

What happened with the reactions?  Why did they go away and what happened that caused it?

INTERMAT was hacked. It was slow for a week and people were complaining and the administration gave us no word or hope. People were ragging on Bob Dole and inferring a relationship to the pop-ups and the site speed. Simultaneous with Bob's return and explanation (and his posts reviews obviously hurt from previous debate) People started asking about what reactions meant and how they should be used. There was continued snide remarks sent his way and suddenly BOOM they were gone and paraphrasing Bob's words " You have your emojis, I took the reactions from the whiners."

Unfortunately, his reply was directly under a WKN post and he may have taken it too personally

I totally missed it.  It's unfortunate this has come out of it.  I hope they both return.

Same here.

Who runs this forum now? We need to bring those back.

Also add a Cinnamon Bun to the roster if/when they do.

This really stinks. Thank you for all that you have done @Wrestleknownothing you are a treasure that this sport so sorely needs. This is yet another example of this sport systemically tripping over itself in pretty much every facet. You bring modern functions through a data-driven manner while simultaneously making it digestible for the average fan who isn't technically savvy. I really hope we can see your return one day and you continue to inspire others to grow themselves personally and professionally.

From one data nerd to another: Left join or right join, inner or outer, I always appreciate the relationship. Have yourself a well deserved swim.

i am an idiot on the internet

Bro, you are seriously leaving over "reactions" being taken away? Man up and fight the good fight against the admins. Don't take your ball and go home. We all love you on this board.
