There's sucking, and then there's sucking. While I was the EIWA's SID we had a few new teams enter the conference. At least one of them didn't field a full team and a couple saw their entire squad go 0-2. Granted, the EIWA no longer includes the Ivies and is down to just 12 teams, but Morgan State sent 10 wrestlers to the 2025 tournament, six of them won bouts, three placed, and Doolin was an alternate NCAA qualifier. They recorded four falls and didn't finish last as a team. They're not going to win the EIWA title anytime soon, but I've seen far worse first years.4 points

I agree with you. Would like to see Lockett let his coaches handle the refs. If he has an issue with the how things are being called or not called, communicate it to his coach. Focus on getting back to center and getting the next score.3 points

The DOJ was also involved, all those are Trump controlled by his upper level appointments. Yes someone in his admin stepped in on this individual because it is a foreign relations issue. You honestly think it's because Trump protects pedos? There have been many stings performed by this administration. It has been a priority unlike the last administration. How Biden handled children immigrants was disgusting. I'll take Trump any day over the sniffer in Chief.2 points

I was today years old when I learned that wrestlers are immune to guns and knives. Once again, badass RV once again reminding us he is untouchable because he used to wrestle.2 points

I am very interested to see how the clearinghouse process plays out. Will data become public? Doubt it. But I can hope. I imagine it will be shared with schools (and maybe athletes?) though. How quickly will the first lawsuit be filed over a denied deal? Whatever number you produce, I will take the under. How much will we learn about deal sizes from court filings? Or from athletes' attorneys? Hopefully a lot. What will Deloitte reveal about how they are modeling fair market value? Likely the blackest of boxes. From NIL Go's FAQs: Range of Compensation (RoC) - RoC is anchored in valuation principles to determine if a student athlete’s third-party NIL compensation is commensurate with compensation paid to similarly situated individuals with comparable NIL value. The RoC is a deal level calculation that is intended to capture a student-athlete’s unique NIL value based upon multiple factors, including but not limited to, the deal’s performance obligations, the student-athlete’s athletic performance and social media reach, the local market, and the market reach of his or her institution and program. The RoC will also be informed by external benchmarks. In order to compare to "similarly situated individuals" you need to have a bunch of data. Where does that data come from? Is it Bob's past deals? Is it based on other sports? Minimum wage? Works/study wages? How do they value these multiple factors? What is an obligation worth? What is the athletic performance work? What is the value of social media reach? Why does local market matter if a school's reach is national, or international? What are the external benchmarks that inform? There are just so many toeholds for enterprising attorneys.2 points

I think lots of athletes complain to the ref without it showing any lack of mental toughness. Burroughs and Dake are the two biggest complainers in the sport and maybe the two mentally toughest athletes we have. The complaining doesn't lessen their ability to wrestle and win. In Lockett's loss to Russia I think you could say he got caught up in complaining and it affected how he wrestled. That's a mental toughness issue. Complaining and not letting it affect your performance is not a mental toughness issue. It's an optics issue at worst. There were no mental toughness issues against Germany this morning.2 points

Hard disagree. I set the over/under on marital infidelity episodes for Snyder at 2.5. you just know he is going to book a pre-and-post championships whoring session at minimum2 points

My brain says under at 3. My degenerate gambling side says I'm hammering over 5.5 because I like to make donations from the heart.2 points

You don't know that. Nobody here knows. How do you expect someone who isn't with them for an extended period of time to know what they are doing. Don't be dishonest. I guarantee this crack down will be successful. The left will act like the criminals will be the victims and this will only have been done because they are racist and all the other cliches the left has cried for the last 20 years of their failures to govern.1 point

They should put them in designated area where basic amenities are provided in a minimal cost structure. A military style barracks with easy to clean and maintain environments. This is not a difficult issue. These people can not be allowed to continue the havoc they have been wreaking on society. It it insane to allow this crap to continue. The filth and crime is unacceptable. It is a lawless environment that cannot continue.1 point

So the assumption is she's wrong. The article gives no information on the actual issue. It only attacks her. It's more garbage media.1 point

I also play a little disc golf, and it's funny seeing an amazing athlete completely baffled by the way most discs turn hard to the left. It's also amazing to see (not that I doubted their genuine friendship before) that guys like DC aren't just friends when they can have fun on podcasts or in good times, but that he took the time to fly out and visit Ben in his home. I really hope this doesn't come out wrong, but as far as the wrestling community is concerned, Ben is the best person that could go through such an arduous ordeal. Between his absolutely positive outlook on most aspects of life, his support from the wrestling, MMA, and even the disc golf community, and how beloved he is by all has been so apparent over the past 2+ months. I'm not sure how many of you know (I nerded out on disc golf for a bit), but Ben has custom discs from one of the sports biggest brands Discraft. He also has a course on his property and holds an annual pro-am tournament where several of the top disc golfers in the world take part. My father-in-law passed away suddenly two weeks ago today, and between that and following Ben's unexpected journey, it is truly a reminder that none of us know when our time will come. This video brought me a lot of joy seeing even a fragile version of Ben being his truest self. Sorry for being sentimental, but this video struck me.1 point
