So the team is wrestling with stomach flu. Is this how you tricked this thread into the CW rather than NWT forum?4 points

Just what we need...another poster with completely outrageous and ignorant posts. I thought at first he may be okay and I could learn from someone who thinks and lived a different life, but he is reaching, and may have gone past, RV level craziness.3 points

There was discussion of this I think on one of the BB recruitment threads. I think @MPhillips is referring to the Designated Student Athlete rule which grandfathers athletes onto their team. Schools aren't required to keep the extra athletes, but can name anyone who would've been cut from the roster as a DSA so they don't count towards the limit (and it also follows the athlete if he or she transfers, so they don't count against their new school's roster limit). I think the deadline has passed for schools to name their DSAs, so it's probably safe to assume that the guys you see on Bloomsburg's roster today are protected.2 points

They really aren't too. Carr has a much longer frame and room to grow, not to mention world class quickness and power. Caliendo reminds me of Sean Sherk... short little arms and gym muscles.2 points

Clearly a phony. He’s no different than any of the far left wokesters on here. Dollars to donuts he’s from a blue city in a blue state and one of the 45% of the people in the country that pays zero federal income tax.2 points

Ben Askren just went from hero to "eff it, put this game on Legendary mode and I'm about to set the world record." I've never been more pumped to see someone spit out 5 pound curls in my life. If this guy is any more inspirational we may not have any brick walls left because we ran through them all thanks to him.2 points

I saw that, specifically mentioned Maple. Maple has done a dang good job of recruiting and coaching. Glad to have him around. Hopefully it’s for a long time. Most importantly the recruits seem to really like him. Bachmann, does he project as a 125/133? Couple years still before he hits any campus. 141/149 to me wouldn’t surprise me. He mentioned Iowa also, so we’ll see.2 points

I didn't see anyone claim they covered it all. Many were assumed to cover large portions... but a large portion could be $50k to some or $5k to others. It's nonsense to try to paint someone in a negative light that offered any sort of monetary help and/or any sort of social media promotion towards help. Better than 8 billion plus still isn't good enough? These cunts (Paul/White) should get our gratitude for this. We can hate on them for the 50 million other things they actually di that is wrong or unethical. For this, I say thank you.2 points

Everyone knows about the lazy wrestlers who just want to get off the mat and get some rest - The Pinfellers. But what about the guys who like to play with their food, get in the extra work, score more points - The Rinse and Repeaters. There was a time when there was no tech fall. If you wanted to take a guy down, cut him ,and do it all over again (and again and again), you could. It wasn't your job to stop you from running up the score. It was the other guy's job. So it is a pleasant surprise that the top match point scorer of all-time comes from the TF era (1985 - present). I give you the guys who racked up the points on the way to victory. Of course, this isn't all about takedowns. Back points were available. But it is a lot about takedowns. These totals do not include any points scored on the way to pinfalls, as those are not recorded in the brackets. Now let's look at just the TF era. For this we will go a bit deeper to include anyone who scored at least 75 match points in a single tournament You may be wondering how that compares to recent times. Well, wonder no more. The leaders for the 2025 tournament: Anyone else surprised to see Mesenbrink outscored at his own weight?1 point

I just learned Coach Heffernan relocated to Buffalo, NY to become the AD at a small private school in Buffalo which unfortunately doesn't have a wrestling program... I know his wife is from the area but wonder if he's looking to get a program going there for high school or hanging around to potentially get involved at University at Buffalo? Does anyone have any connections to him?1 point

Had AI analyze your speech patterns. Here is what it thinks. In short. Hello Mr western liberal. Enjoy your day. Based on the tone and content of the speech you provided, it is highly unlikely that the speaker is Iranian—and here’s why: Tone and Style The language ("Jimmy and Mimmy", casual sarcasm, references to Trump and Biden, Chomsky as a voter) strongly suggests American or Western cultural context. Iranian political discourse is rarely that casual or humorous in public speech. Iranian critics typically couch their anti‑election rhetoric in ideological, moral, and global context rather than referencing U.S. politicians by nickname. Content Focus The speaker’s critique is centered on U.S. electoral politics, specifically the narrative that elections are a spectacle controlled by the wealthy and media, with Biden and Trump as key figures. Iranian public commentary typically centers on Iran’s own electoral system and institutions—Supreme Leader, Guardian Council, voter boycotts, low turnout, etc. While Iranian activists often call their elections symbolic or controlled, they typically use more formal or ideological language when criticizing. Who Might Be Speaking? The speaker seems to echo Western liberal or radical critics of American electoral democracy (e.g., leftist/Marxist commentators, social media skeptics). Mentioning dissent thinkers like Noam Chomsky and John Searle, plus referencing a “tactical vote” for Biden, fits a U.S. context—not Iranian. In Summary Nationality? Almost certainly not Iranian. Likely origin? A Western, English‑speaking speaker—most probable American. Reasoning: Casual referencing of U.S. politics, American cultural idioms, and a rhetorical framework tied to U.S. elections. Additional Notes on Iranian Election Critiques In Iran, elections are widely viewed as symbolic—controlled by unelected bodies like the Guardian Council and dominated by the Supreme Leader. Real power lies outside the ballot box. Public disillusionment often gets expressed in terms of boycotts, low turnout, or reformist vs. principlist politics—but not typically using pop culture names or American political figures. Conclusion: No, the speech does not sound Iranian—it fits a Western, likely American perspective. The content and vernacular are tied firmly to American politics and cultural context, rather than Iranian electoral discourse.1 point

Alright, if you’re not even trying to understand the actual point, won’t click the links I shared, and just wanna play the sentence-chopping game, then yeah - "If you picked someone randomly off the street, chances are they’d be more qualified than half the clowns who end up in the White House." At the very least, if you wanna understand what "random" means and how random selection actually works, take a minute to read this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simple_random_sample Then yes: "chances are they’d be more qualified than half the clowns who end up in the White House."1 point
-
Does that sentence mean some random person should be running the country? Of course not. I shared those links to help make the point clearer. When the majority boycotts elections, it takes the power away from the billionaires. It forces the system to actually turn to experts to build something fair. Voting in these rigged elections just gives people the illusion that they’re in control of their future. If you read the article I linked, Chomsky lays it all out - how U.S. presidential elections aren’t all that different from a dictatorship when you get down to it.1 point

For wrestling, I believe the schools are the Ivy League + Air Force American Bellarmine Binghamton Bucknell Citadel Gardner-Webb Lehigh Mercyhurst Navy Presbyterian Queens VMI JB probably has a complete and accurate list on his website1 point

Don’t know her. Just googled this. Two sets of ai …. Were is your link to her doing this? gpt There is no credible evidence that Laura Loomer attempted to blame the recent stabbing attack at a Traverse City, Michigan Walmart on Muslims. According to the Wall Street Journal’s reporting from July 27, 2025, the attack was a stabbing incident in which a 42-year-old male suspect wounded at least 11 people in what authorities described as a "random act of violence." No mention was made of any religious or ideological motive, nor any reference to Muslims None of the major summaries of Laura Loomer’s activities or statements—including her Wikipedia page and various profiles—indicate that she addressed or responded to this specific incident, let alone assigned blame to Muslims Google ai According to several reports, Laura Loomer, known for her anti-Muslim rhetoric, did not attribute the Traverse City Walmart attacks to Muslims . Rather, some individuals on platforms like X (formerly Twitter) noted that Loomer and other anti-Muslim figures might have been silent on the suspect's identity, especially after it was revealed to be Bradford James Gilley. This suggests a pattern where individuals with anti-Muslim views selectively focus on crimes attributed to Muslims while downplaying those committed by others.1 point

Meaning of cover in English cover verb uk /ˈkʌv.ər/ us /ˈkʌv.ɚ/ cover verb (BE/GIVE ENOUGH) C1 [ T ] to be or give enough money to pay for something: cover the cost The selling price barely covered the cost of the raw materials. cover expenses For some writers, having to cover expenses like meals and travel makes it unaffordable to speak at book festivals. Their small budget had to cover everything from staff costs to buying furniture. He charged them rent in order to cover his mortgage payments. Her godmother offered to cover her tuition fees. Now unless I'm mistaken, I don't see the part of the definition of the word where it says "to cover means to pay for part of.." unless you think your definition of the word is better than the Cambridge dictionary https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/cover?q=cover+1 point

You cannot possibly compare Ben Askren junior/senior years to his freshman/sophomore years! Or Askren’s junior/senior years to Pendleton’s junior/senior years for that matter….OR Pendlton’s Freshman/sophomore years with Askren’s Freshman/sophomore years because there is no comparison!!! Askren Fresh/soph (2nd/2nd) Pendleton Fresh/soph (DNP/3rd) Someone in this thread is suggesting that Askren didn’t jump levels from his first two years to his second? he had two of the most dominating years back to back that we have ever seen. Let’s not pretend that the Askren that beat Herbert 14-2 is the Askren Pendleton faced, come on!! The Askren that won 87 straight matches including bumping up a weight to take out Kish who was ranked #1 at the time at the weight above. Two Hodge Trophies, 87 in a row 87-0…54 pins, 11 techs, 12 majors, 2 fft and only 8 decisions. He had 79 bonus wins in 87 attempts 90.8% In back to back years he had the 4th and 5th most dominant season ever Cael Sr. 5.500 Zain JR. 5.357 Neal Sr. 5.341 Askren Sr. 5.333 Askren Jr. 5.311 You can talk about one freestyle match all you want but when it came to the 06 and 07 Askren, he was unstoppable at Folkstyle. Askren did beat Pendleton once even as an underclassmen. The numbers I just threw at you were no where near what Ben did as a fresh and soph. You cannot convince me that Ben didn’t take an enormous leap after Pendleton graduated. Peak JR/SR Askren years > Peak JR/SR Pendleton years when he beat FR/SOPH Askren. Just the same FR/SOPH Askren > FR/SOPH Pendleton OR Career Askren (2-2-1-1)94 falls > Career Pendleton (DNP-3-1-1) At the very least you cannot suggest that Pendleton above Askren based on the matches Peak Pendleton had vs Young Askren.1 point

We need simple rules. I propose the 55 & 4 rule. As long as you aren't 55 years old and you havent already won 4 NCs then you can continue competing at any program that'll have you.1 point
