  1. I don't this doesn't come out as off-putting, but IMO we should just keep this thread to actual updates on Ben's health while avoiding playing doctor by trying to explain why, how, or what is going to come of Ben's current situation. I know that we are all on the same team, but we should stick to what we know based on the information that has been made public. I know that's not typically the spirit of a forum, but in this critical time, I don't think any of us want to give "opinion" on what may or may not be transpiring. This is an absolutely horrible situation, and I think we would all be best giving it space. Please continue to share updates, but let's not bring opinions or speculation into the picture anymore than necessary.

  2. I just threw up a new database that has all ~40k matches that have taken place at the NCAA D1 championships. Check it out here. I just noticed the search and filter aren't working. I'm going to have to reach out to try and figure out why. Enjoy!

  3. The first question I asked of your data is who had the most success in the consolation bracket? Indiana's Brandon Becker was a three time All-American between 2005 and 2008, and he tore it up on the backside. Below are the top 10 all-time. JD Bergman is an interesting one, too. He is the only man to win 13 consolation matches in two tournaments combined.

  4. You do realize that you are only looking at it from one perspective only to make it work for your "argument"? You keep throwing out the "its his 1st amendment right" as if the cop KINEW that this guy sneaking up on his car was just taking pictures. And using your argument, which is true about taking pictures in public, it's pretty obvious that once the cop KNEW he was in fact only taking pictures he left without arresting the person. Why do you guys keep conveniently not taking into account that the cop clearly had NO idea what the guy was doing?? You use after the fact information to assume it should have been known in the exact moment...and refuse to look at it from the police's perspective. And I am sorry but your family of LEOs would probably be ashamed that you are using them as some sort of "evidence" that "you don't hate cops" and then turnaround and claim that this cop did something wrong while clearly refusing to acknowledge the potential perspective of said cop. By the way...how is this a right v left thing??

  7. Take your own advice. When it says they are not building a bomb, it means exactly that and nothing more. They may have all the components on the bench in front of them, but as long as they’re not assembling them, they’re not building one. Even at that, it’s still just informed speculation. Recognizing all the missed calls of the intelligence community. There is no civilian or industrial application for uranium enriched above 40%. Iran’s cheating on the JCPOA was known to be just as prolific as in the Oil for Food Program. Anything above 40% is building towards a bomb. To anyone with common sense.

  8. We all agree Iran does not need nuclear weapons right? funny. I’ll have to find the vid. A newscaster on msnbc (this week) said he traveled to Iran and witnessed a ralley where they kept yelling death to America. He tried to spin it that it doesn’t mean that and they are nice and like our American movies lol. True story.

  9. And another thing: the QB won a multi million lawsuit against the university for scapgoating him.

  10. If you were truly familiar with the history, the QB did NOT SEE anything; he only thought he heard things that were strange, and after some time thinking about it and the possibilities that he went to PSU football staff to report what he heard.

  11. This. I watched it last night, and I understand that documentaries can skew things and purposely create a narrative, but man, Hellickson and Jordan did themselves no favors for how they acted, and more importantly didn't act. Their behavior after this all broke, and even recently is at minimum head scratching and at worst reprehensible.

  18. I'm not trying to force you what to think, just saying what you think and what fundamentalist whack jobs who like to strap bombs to their chest and kill innocent Americans think, is probably different. Couldn't agree more. History is supposed to teach us lessons.

  19. GWN, thank you for providing examples that show while perfect is ideal, done is often better in practice.

  20. Why do you continue to post like such a dumb a**? You think posters here don't speak some french or can't translate via Google and see you are a FRAUD? Le mieux est l'ennemi du bien = The best is the enemy of the good Le mieux est le mortel ennemi du bien = The best is the mortal enemy of the good Striving to better, oft we mar what's well = Trying to do better, we sometimes break what is good To go too far is as bad as to fall short = Find the balance between too far and not far enough The (4) bulleted items you listed are, in no way equivalent to your far-too-basic BS phrase "done is better than perfect." Every one of the items in the bulleted list are either something different, or something more. You're reaching and failing badly. "Done is better than perfect" is wrong every single time. (Whatever happened to you stating it once and letting it stand? You changed your rule because your statement is dumb? Sounds right.) The phrase I've used is basically the same as the first two on the bulleted list - "Perfect is the enemy of done." (Not my words, I heard them on one of my favorite podcasts.) If you're trying to get your trash can to the sidewalk on trash day - Done will suffice. Perfection isn't needed. Maybe best to get the cart out and not worry about a straight line or how fast you do it or if a bit spills out. You can fix that in the morning. How about a kid using crayons in a coloring book? Done is just fine. Perfect isn't needed. It'll go on the fridge and look just fine. Let's talk about mowing the lawn. Never cut more than 1/2 the height of the current grass. Always overlap every pass to not leave any grass uncut. Mulch when is appropriate, bag when is appropriate. Change mower engine oil and air filter and sharpen blade every season. Scrape underside of mower between each and every use. Mow only in the evening to allow the grass to recover before summer heat... (and there's far, far more.) ...Or maybe just do the best you can as time allows and call it good. Doesn't need to be Perfect. In all these examples above, why would you insist on perfection when 'good enough' is just fine. Finish it and call it done. Indeed, Perfect is the enemy of done. Sometimes it is advisable to settle for less than perfect. But is it true that "Done is better than perfect?" No - not at all. Never. You are 100% wrong. It is a universal truth that Perfect is the best we can do. Done is never better than perfect. That obviously doesn't mean there isn't room for both.

  28. If he really thought he was in danger, he should have just drove away. Especially if the vehicle was actually equipped with sirens so that he could easily run the red light. If the “danger” is on foot and you’re in a running vehicle, getting out of the car seems stupid. You can use a gun to defend your property from home invaders. Not if someone knocks on your door like Andrew Lester did to Ralph Yarl. So you’re kinda proving my point: crouching behind a car is not remotely comparable to breaking into a home.

  29. Are you serious? Bill the Butcher is one of the most iconic characters in cinema history. Way more iconic than any character Oldman has played. DDL also has Lincoln and many consider his role at Daniel Plainview the best acting job in cinema history

  30. I was driving between work meetings once. Busy 2-4 lane highway but residential meaning there were red light stops every mile or few miles or so. I was speeding. Everyone speeds on this road. police stopped me. I saw the lights. I don’t know if he had a siren on or not but I don’t remember one. I was taught for officer safety don’t pull over right away on roads like that …. For safety. Avg speed 45-55+ let’s say. Google says speed limit is 45. I was prolly going 55-60. But I sure as shyte was speeding. sooo. I had to drive let’s say 30:45:60 ish seconds to this little road to turn off on. Which is what I did. The passenger was a black guy. when he pulled up. He immediately got his gun out and made me get out of the car. Lots of police yelling sounds. When I calmly explained to him why I did what I did he put it away. I said yes sir. No sir. Sorry sir. Treated him with respect. He let me go with a warning. He didn’t even shoot or bother the black guy. Weird. I didn’t go away butt hurt. Treat them with respect you will get treated with respect back. he thought I was fleeing. He didn’t know my intentions. I left with a warning.

Teach your children and loved ones the same. If you or someone you know feels uncomfortable with something report it to the appropriate authorities. If no satisfactory action is taken accordingly, then go to the law authorities, newspapers, media, whoever it takes to seek justice.

  42. Let me fix your statement, "History has taught us that Israel does all the dirty work for the US, Europe, and the cowardice leaders in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Jordan, and Egypt. When Israel tells us they are going to attack Iran we merely ask them to accept the fact that we are going to sh*t on them in public while in private we thank them. As the legendary Christopher Hitchens referred to them,The Death Cult, has to appear united in their quest to stone all gays and socially imprison women. It is also important that I, RedViking, my friends @uncle bernard & @Tripnsweep espouse stupidity on the matter with claims that oppressive nut job fanatical fundamentalist are the victims."
