I think redshirting in general should be taken away. Also no more double holdbacks. Especially in the top prep schools. Most are a minimum of one year hold backs. Some are close to three years after they take a post graduate year. So as a red shirt freshman some if these kids/men are 22 years old! It simple is not right. Guys like Duke and Forrest would be 3 timers instead of 4 timers. I wish they would reign this practice in. Then half of the low level D1 guys who are sometimes only 17 are wrestling full grown men. So unfair man. But with all that said PSU is another problem. Like a dang monopoly. Senior world team members should not be redshirting. Go to another freaking team man!5 points

Another iconic photograph. A known top notch photographer on PSU got this image of high schooler PJ Duke in mid air after pinning Yianni D at Final X. Well done.4 points

I don’t disagree. With that said money will make it way worse over time imo. Plus plenty in the sport and on this board are beyond behind it. One guy skipped his first year of 8th grade (to take it again next year) to play video games…. So he could grow in the sport. I think that behavior is behind nonsense. It’s certainly not cheating…. But it’s 200% morally bankrupt.3 points

Until the last line I thought you were suggesting that could be their potential line-up.2 points

This will all be interesting. 125 will be Stevo. 133, man I just don't see this as a guarantee, on paper it should be, but I promise Osmany gives everyone in that room all they want at 133. His hurdle is food, and he is not disciplined at all. Grice is much better at 133 than 125, and hell I heard Meza wants to go 133 now. 141-174. Euton is really, really tough. He is not flashy by any means, but he is hard-nosed tough. There are so many ways that line up good go. There will be some good kids watching from the chairs this year, which is a great problem to have.2 points

Pretty remarkable what KD has been able to achieve with Duke and other guys, e.g. Ryder, James, others. Just goes to show that an outstanding coach doesn't need to be a guy with a stack of medals and trophies. Some people are just really good at teaching, supporting and motivating.2 points

My thoughts Spencer did what we thought he would. Didn’t really like his comments on his performance during the Post Final X Show with JB and Pyles but he’s the man and I have full confidence he medals. Vito and Jax should’ve had to go here but I understand rules are in place and I would take advantage too. Vito did it right at least giving a ton of notice, other clubs would’ve done it different I’m sure . Real looks good, his lack of experience has me worried but more excited than anything. Hope he can string a few teams together as some consistency at this weight domestically would be nice. Yianni, Yianni, Yianni. Truth be told, probably my favorite wrestler ever. Watched his whole HS career in Albany and continued into college. I know he was thinking retirement but consider this an open letter to Yianni. Please don’t stop wrestling, you know, your coaches know, your family know, and we know you have the goods. You can win a world/olympic gold. I hope he continues down this path and keeps digging in. That being said PJ looked unreal. Super exciting to have a young buck like him on the team. Hope he wins 3 world golds like Amit did before. Got in more than a few in real life and online arguments about Carr vs MM. If you thought Carr had no shot going in you’re deluded and I would’ve had no issue telling you so. Best of luck to Carr at worlds and I can’t wait to see this rivalry continue for a few years. Haines wins the most boring weight. Sorry, should’ve been Dake or Marstellar but Levi is a brick house and maybe he sneaks one for us. Tough break for Cornell/NY boys this go around. I had Dake penciled in as I thought his experience would get it done for him but Zahid was too big. Very excited for Zahid being able to get his shot finally and I think he had the goods to win it all but I don’t think we see the last of Dake here. My guess is is that he went up knowing full well he might lose, but he’s in it for the cycle. I see Dake returning a lot bigger this next year. Hoagie man is a dawg and will be a medalist this year. I feel it. Barr looked the part across from him but not enough offense. . Snyder comes and does this dang thing. Hope all this noise doesn’t have him lose focus on a world title but I definitely think it will and maybe we see no medal here. Just a guess but hope I’m wrong. Thank you Hayden Zillmer for being a force on the US scene for so many years. Capt America looked great match 1, Hillger looked great match 2 and still lost. Idk if anyone internationally can game plan for Wyatt like Trent did but there’s the blueprint, good luck lol. Side-note, JB said in the post show that he is definitely wrestling again, which has me juiced.2 points

I don’t know how to define game changer, and I’m not sure his name carries as much weight as Dake or Taylor, but Michael Kemerer will be a very good HC some day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

The sad thing is this is true and happening alot with the elite guys especially. Start late in K. Then hold back in 6th or 8th grade. Go to Prep school and possibly take a PG year. 21 when you graduate high school. Why are we allowing this? Then the media says how great they are for winning senior level events in high school. Don't get me wrong winning senior level anything at any age is amazing. But stop saying how amazing it is for a high schooler to do it. How old is that kid? I was sitting in the stands and I over heard alot of people saying how are these high schoolers doing this? I wanted to turn around and say cause their daddy made them go 15 years of school before college. But I bit my tongue.2 points

If not for redshirts, kindergarten hold backs, 6th grade retakes and video gaming years then what is a 27/28 year old college kid who wants to play sports gonna do?2 points

If they shouldn't be redshirting then why did they create an Olympic redshirt hmmmm? Checkmate atheists.2 points

It's too bad 76kg is the heaviest international weight. I think that it limits girls like this who are obviously pretty athletic.2 points

Awesome! So, like...300 characters is "really long?" I wonder if you added up all the characters whining about the 5-year-old 'Iowa guys get hurt and don't peak at the end of the year,' claim that you just KEEP rehashing to the point where you're not bringing it up about Vito... Oh, and I completely understand how you were unable to connect the dots about the 197LB Wrestler who took a Bronze in the Olympics named "Aaron Broks." That was a tough one to crack. Can I hear about your most favorite teams again in order? NC State and then Iowa and then Okie State and then Cornell because someone from there coached your son! That was about as much fun as hearing my nephew's favorite Pokeman Cards!1 point

Several small cities or towns allow non citizens to vote in local elections because those elections tend to have bigger impacts on those communities. As long as it's not state or federal, it's not a big deal. They can't hold public office. We count them in the census every decade, so allowing them a say in local affairs isn't a big deal.1 point

I meant 4th on the ladder. 3rd at the open is 4th on the ladder since Arujau was sitting at Final X. Open runner-up Seth Gross had beaten Blaze earlier in the tournament so there was no need for a true second/third at that weight. Unlike 57kg where the open runner up and 3rd place finisher did not meet in the tournament. So, Cronin and Provo wrestled for true third at 57kg at final x. 61KG ladder is 1 - TBD Forrest/Arujau 2- TBD Forrest/Arujau 3 - Seth Gross 4 - Marcus Blaze1 point

few thoughts on Final X Seems to be changing of the guard with majority of the team newbies. Wonder how Team USA will do in Zagreb. Feel for McKenna. His best shot ever to make a World team but his style I've always felt works against him. Surprised coaches by now haven't tried to change his style and make him more offensive and dynamic. Feel for Dake though never a huge fan. Regardless, see no chance for him making team for LA Olympics. Paris was his chance. Not sure what he was thinking going 86 this early in the cycle. Would've had better chance this year to make World team and possibly medal at 79. The unimportant but observed.... Did S Lee go to 'hair for men' or color the top? Hair looked very strange... JB have his pajama top on ?1 point

Always funny to see conservatives invoke Pol Pot considering we supported and propped him up against the communists. He was a loyal American proxy.1 point

Nice idea. Next time consider asking us to provide words for each blank without revealing the story. Words like "a noun," "an adjective," or "a verb ending in -ing." The fun comes from the surprise of how the words complete the story.1 point

Pyles seems to be a dude who will maybe have one beer before cutting himself off. We know Willie slams those bud heavies, so I respect him for that. I think if Willie can get him in the first minute he's got it, otherwise he taps out second period.1 point

I. myself, can't see him bulking up muscle wise and at his age, to make much of a difference. But that's my opinion... getting that Oly-gold medal may be his motivation, but is that enough? IF anything... getting ANY medal at 86Kg in the next Olympics would be an outstanding achievement alone! (But, I don't see it happening... Chris Campbell in '92 Barcelona got bronze at 37 was indeed, an outstanding achievement.) D31 point

I'd ask again why you are the way you are, but I'd get nowhere. Lee was a heavy favorite. Barr...was also a dog. Duke is a Sr in HS who wrestled a 4X National Champ. Did ANYONE think these guys were "unbeatable?" In fact, I think Flow picked these matches and...didn't they ALL pick this except for Mesenbrink?1 point

... would she look just like a female version of him, and win multiple NCAA shot put titles? idk how dumb a person can be. particularly when i just mentioned this. strip away everything Gaines said. fine. say it's stupid. What Simone said was so dumb, she recanted publicly. stop being 'us vs. them' and debate the the actual topic. you're not interested in a dialectic, you're interested in the soap opera and your side winning.1 point
-
lol. no. absolutely not. you're getting caught up in the theater. one is saying 'men in women's sports is wrong' the other is saying ... idk what she's saying b/c she reneged on it all publicly. bottom line, if you think men competing vs women is ok, you're either a moron or trying to be ok with the liberal mob. it's nonsense.1 point

this might be stupid, so don't rake me over the coals on it...just an idea... why dont organizations just have a third division? the number of teens identifying as the opposite sex is going thru the roof. give them their own division.1 point
