I don't think it is good for the sport for UVU to be pillaging other schools like this. After PSU invests in them UVU just swoops in and takes them. It aint right.9 points

In 2028 that different story practically writes itself. Dake will be the first junior high kid to compete at the olympic trials and in his path is a bald old man named Keck who will stop at nothing to keep him from accomplishing his dream3 points

I want to expand on my answer a bit. Do you people in Intermat hate nerds? No one on this message board is nerdier than I am. If you look at any of my content it is all about the math and probabilities. While I do not get universal love, I get damn near universal love for that content. But who would want universal love anyway? That would be boring and not help you to grow. I have found this community to be VERY open to new ideas and ways of looking at things. Be original and interesting and no one will care if you are a nerd. Am I gonna get bullied and ostracized? In Intermat? Sure a little, but that depends. You will find that you do not agree with every point of view or every method of expressing them. This will bother you a lot at first. But after a while it will bother you less. When it is bothering you the most you will be tempted to engage. But engaging is a choice. If you do not engage people tend to leave you alone. And if people get really unreasonable, the mods do a good job of banning people, or putting them on pause for a while. In the wider world? Sure. We all get bullied to some extent. But I think wrestling is very accepting of hard work. Hard work is easy to see and even easier to respect. Take a guy like Mitchell Mesenbrink. He is as nerdy as you will find in wrestling, but he is also respected for his high attack rate and mental approach.3 points

Sort of took me by surprise for a second. Vinnie was very good in high school; 4-time state placer who was stuck behind Dean Peterson for almost all of his career. Finally won it as a senior when Peterson got surgery and was out for the season. Guess it doesn't pan out for everyone at the D1 level. I hope he finishes his career on a high note at D3!3 points

Based on the Big Board data you shared with me in the past the expected AA's for PSU is 7 and the expected AA's for OSU is 9. While those both seem a touch low I think they are directionally correct. Top 10 BB recruits AA more than twice as often as those ranked 11-20 (2.3 vs 1.1). Since OSU has 3 top 10's to PSU's 2 top 10's, you have to give OSU the edge.2 points

Your whole schtick is representing something you are not. We know you're not proper a proper sauce/gravy. Just like we know Snyder is Captain America and Wyatt is the GAH.2 points

I buy into the Keckeisen hype, but methinks if he runs into Dake that he might get a quick takedown in the ways Dake is susceptible domestically (ala ankle pick or blast double to shrug) but he either gets Dakebombed or bails every time as soon as Dake touches his legs. I also think Keck is like Yianni in that his folkstyle funk would do better internationally than domestically.2 points

Pitt guy: This is a shock in terms of ability, he is no doubt a top 30 guy at the D1 level at 133. Career wins over Nic Bouzakis, Braxton Brown, Tyler Ferrara, Gable Strickland, Anthony Madrigal. SV Loss to E.Frost, 12-8 loss to Bailey, 7-6 loss to Yarbrough, 6-4 loss to Latona, etc. However, he has had lots of injury issues in college, missed his entire first season at Pitt (after already spending a year at Navy Prep) and only wrestled four matches this year before going down with injury. Also, he appears to be moving up to 141 with this transfer, where he would be very short for the D1 level and obviously at Pitt that is the weight his little brother is at still. At 133 he would have been the presumed starter but the rumor is that his best friend/cousin Tallmadge is moving up from 125 and will man 133 next year. He is from about 45 minutes away from TCNJ and I know there is a good relationship between his family and that staff. I expected him to end up at Rider or a smaller PA/NY program but I think this will be a great destination for him and if he stays healthy a legitimate title contender there2 points

Here is an interesting vid of Chuck Schumer. Proves democrats aren’t really interested in due process per se. They want to keep all illegals here give them amnesty and let them vote. It’s not super old (2 years) but he references the 11 million illegals Biden let in.2 points

In spite of the fact that it ended with the biggest upset of the tournament, 285 was the most chalk weight. The sum of absolute deviations from seed was 77, just ahead of 125 at 81.5. This also made the heavies the second most chalk weight since the 33 seed era began. Only 165 in 2019 was more chalk. At the other end of the spectrum 141 was the most busted bracket this year (but only sixth most in the 33 seed era). A lot of the "bust" came from five of nine guys seeded to go 0-2 finishing with win(s), and three higher seeded wrestlers doing the opposite.1 point

I said remove "ALL" activist judges. Maybe a DOGE like department could work on that. We could call it ROAJ. Removal of Activist Judges. Did a judge actually say we are at war with illegal immigrants, or did he say we are at war against illegal immigrant terrorist groups. There is a difference between these two.1 point

I really hope Dake makes the team at 86kg. Him and Snyder are the last two wrestlers of the US golden generation. Those two guys are absolute beasts. I wish them the best (except against Iran of course). But I think moving up 12kg is a big ask even for a guy like Dake...1 point

IMO He’s a d1 Capable wrestler but I’m not sure he’s convinced himself of that. I watched him over the last few years go from a kid who could handle a Gavin Sax (and knew it), to the gap closing, to losing to him (seemingly confused as to how) to having to switch weights when Sax transferred to Oklahoma. Sax get better? Yep. Coaching? Maybe, but they’ve both had Kish and another coach. Mindset? Probably IMO. With what time he has left find a place that makes it fun and then let it fly.1 point

I think he's a victim of the coaching staff's he's had tbh. I think he could have AA'd under different circumstances. Could be wrong though. You know him far better than I do.1 point

That's where I'm at. Have the first 10 or 12 teams auto-qualify based on last year's dual season. Then hand pick the rest of the field with a best-guess lineup projection. But no matter what system you use, you'll miss out on a couple great teams at the margins and you just have to accept it.1 point
-
I think most years the best tournament teams will be the best dual team with a few exceptions every year. I don't mind the idea of rewarding the top 12 with an auto invite but maybe the next 4 can be more like Wild Cards that are selected based on dual performance (Rutgers) or projected lineups the next season (Lehigh or ISU).1 point
