  5. As a Penn State fan and alumni, I really don't understand the hatred towards this event. I get why Cael will say no, the timing of it doesn't really make any sense, but the current wrestling season calendar doesn't either. If you have a team full of kids attempting to make world teams throughout the fall, they likely aren't "optimized" to compete in early November. This being said, as a wrestling fan, why would you not want to see at least most of the nations top teams compete. Particularly in a dual meet setting.

  6. The top teams was invited. If a wrestlers is called to the mat but doesn't show up its a forfeit, you don't change the name or invalidate the guy who ended up winning. PSU doesn't want to put their foot on the line, fine, but they don't then get to say the name should be changed. If PSU wants to be the National Duals Invite champs then they can show up, but they are choosing to let someone else win that title.

  12. When guys get hurt in January and February and have to miss the postseason, we can say they don't have their real roster, and we can also dismiss what happens at NCAAs, right? Lucas Byrd doesn't get to call himself champion because Ryan Crookham wasn't in the tournament, right? No. Like any other time, you go with the best guys available and the results are the results. Lots of guys are worn down by March and aren't the best version of themselves. Again, we don't discount the NCAAs because of it. There is no utopian scenario to get a perfect outcome. You can quibble with things like the date, or the selection criteria, or name of the event ... Or you can appreciate that there are people trying to make this sport bigger and putting their money where their mouth is to make it happen. And appreciate the fact that all these teams want to show up and COMPETE and put on a show for the fans.

  13. It's certainly their choice, but there is no need for them to make comments like its not a real national duals or downplay the event because they didn't accept the invitation. It's a chance to grow the sport and create a cool event. . Cael doesn't think it helps his team win NCAAs in March so they are not going regardless of the impact it could have. I agree it's fine that they don't want to go, but its telling that everyone thinks this is a good idea.

  15. Vincent Cornella I believe is much superior to Saunders. Saunders showed some good stuff this year with a major over Josh Edmond and some other good wins going 20-8 but Vince Cornella when healthy is too notch. Not only is he a junior bronze medalist but he bonused his way through EIWAs as a freshman. He last in tie breaker to Lachlan at ncaas who took 3rd . Then on back side he was destroying Swiderski 8-0 with 5 minutes of riding time before getting cement mixed and stuck with seconds left. His sophomore year he tore an acl during the Edmond match and still won. He couldn’t make it through Confernces though and was out all this past season: Talking about a guy who best Koderhandt 15-2 though. I like him to win the 141 spot. As far as Greg D, he did beat Milani last year. It was close but I believe that was just out of familiarity. Greg is far superior. If he can stay healthy, and that’s a huge if,,he is a podium threat. Started out 9-0 last year before injuring his neck and being done for year.

  19. I have two for you to mortgage everything and buy: $TRUMP : https://gettrumpmemes.com/#tokenomics $MELANIA : https://www.coinbase.com/price/melania-meme These are can't miss opportunities. This is in no way Trump taking advantage of the gullible, and stupid, or those looking to pay bribes. I did not mean to scare you though, you can still pay bribes, so don't worry about that. But if you want pay bribes, he has a different cryptocurrency for that. World Liberty Financial : https://www.worldlibertyfinancial.com/ Pro tip: If you are a Chinese businessman currently under investigation by the SEC and you want that investigation to stop, this is definitely the currency for you. Now you may note that the first two links are for COINBASE where you can buy and sell the coins, but the third link is not an exchange since you can only buy, and never sell, the third coin. If you are looking to sell, you have clearly missed the point, and this cryptocurrency is not for you. Who even let you in here?

  25. To be honest, I have no problem with PSU not participating. There will be fun individual matchups that we don’t get, but there’s now more parity between the competing teams. If everyone but Penn State participates, we are still getting a fun and competitive event that I look forward to.

  29. Stanford 125- Provo 133- Knox 141- Valencia 149- Parco/Mara/Consiglio 157- Cardenas 165- Garvin 174-Norman/Guffey 184-Guffey/Norman/Montiero 197- Posada/Borelli 285- Gap Fun lineup with potentially 8 NQs. Wish they could land a NQ level grad transfer at one of the upper weights, but just isn’t easy at Stanford. Either way, wouldn’t be at all surprised to see 3-4 AA’s out of this group.

  30. He got injured at CKLV in the Cory Land match. He never returned after that. Grey didn’t feel the need to inform or update any fans on the starting lineup this year at all so we were all pretty clueless all year. He was said to be coming back and would be at 125 lbs. This went on and on for the entire month of Feb but he obviously never made it back. He will be back next year, we will see. I know that the entire 2025 class they have coming in which includes 8 guys in the top 53 of the big board, are all grey shirting next year: By the way, watch out for Jaxon Joy next year at 149. He had to earn the spot over Ethan Fernandez but I believe he will. For his Grey shirt year this year as a true freshman he went 31-1 with 4 falls, 16 techs, and 6 majors (2 inj def) and had a bonus rate of 85%. He had 7 open tournament titles. He also had 5 wins over NCAA qualifiers, 2 of them techs, 3 majors. He vastly improved from his senior year of high school (which he was already a high caliber guy in HS).

  39. "Perhaps Harvard should lose its Tax Exempt Status and be Taxed as a Political Entity if it keeps pushing political, ideological, and terrorist inspired/supporting "Sickness?" he wrote on Truth Social. "Remember, Tax Exempt Status is totally contingent on acting in the PUBLIC INTEREST!" a little to much support for the terrorists in Palestine…. May get you on the naughty list?

  40. So the Democratic "narrative" is typically the dominant one is the explanation. I know your explanation for that is that everybody is ganging up on the Republicans. Another explanation is that the Democratic narrative is simply more accurate most of the time., so most of the mainstream media and institutions trust it more That goes along with the study that I provided.

  45. It adds emotion to the story. emotion is part of certain narratives….. Like when they refuse to call illegal aliens “illegal” and they call them undocumented….. or asylum seekers or whatever. Both sides do it. But it is what it is. 10 million illegals flow over the boarder during the Biden admin. Now that they found a “grey immigration” case they will try to get as many emotional news cycles out of this as they possibly can. They want illegals here because they want them to vote blue. The politicians don’t care about said el Salvadoran…. The people arguing on this site likely do… and that’s the emotion they are playing on.

  46. Russian Interference in 2016 Election (2016–2019) Democrats’ claims of Russian hacking and disinformation were labeled a hoax by Republicans, but the 2019 Mueller Report confirmed coordinated Russian efforts on Clinton's emails. 48. I am not overly impressed with the ultra lightweight kids. I have a lot more respect for a guy winning multiple state titles if he's not wrestling 8 graders, 9 graders, and sophomores. It stands to reason why, those kids are 2 or 3 years younger than the guys winning titles in upper weights and have 2 to 3 years less wrestling development. If a Fr or a Soph wins the state title at, say, 157 pounds though, I'm impressed because he's beating guys who are mostly older than him. If a Fr or Soph wins state at even higher weights I'm even MORE impressed because they are competing against kids who are more physically mature than they are in all likelihood. That's not to say that great wrestlers didn't pass through those very light weights as they matured, which explains guys like Valencia or Lee wrestling those weights in HS. Regarding tweeners, they don't usually pan out all that well. There are exceptions of course, but most 220 pounders are going to struggle at HWT in college. 190 pounders are a completely different animal. 190 is a much stronger weight class than 220 in HS, in my opinion.
