Wild to think, but Penn State currently has 6 guys ranked #1 in the country. Could they win a dual meet against an all-start team from all other teams? Thinking potential hardest match-ups from the field:
125 - Lilledahl vs. - I think he is favored against anyone, maybe Bouzakis? Probably the best in the field and can possibly pin. PSU 3-0
133 - Blaze vs. unsure - Byrd, Seidel, Jax, Davino...all seem very close to 50-50 matchups. PSU 3-3
141 - Davis vs. Mendez - already know how this ends, TF. PSU 3-8
149 - SVN vs, Joy - Can ride and turn which has been an issue for SVN in the past. Still going SVN though. PSU 6-8
157 - PJ vs. unsure - Canon, Meyer, Antrell, seems pretty close to 50-50 matchups on paper. PSU 6-11
165 - MM vs. Lockett, Blaze - MM, but by bonus? PSU 9-11
174 - Haines vs. Ruiz - Haines likely by decision. PSU 12-11
184 - Rocco vs. Sinclair? Seems to be maybe the toughest matchup on paper. Sinclair is so good on re-attacks, can start in tie breakers. Likely close to 50-50 who wins here. PSU 12-14
197 - Barr vs. Rocky - Barr is the pick, but can be bonus Rocky? PSU 15-14
285 - Mirasola vs. Bastida or Trubmle - Mirasola has really been figuring out how to beat guys that are bigger than him. Will be very interesting come NCAAs, but i think Basitda is too good on the feet and Trumble is a real issue on top. PSU 15-17
On paper, its a super tight dual. Even giving the field all 3 of the 50-50 matchups(in my mind), the difference is bonus from Mendez at 141. I think its possible MM and Bar could both both bonus against anyone in the field, making this a potential 17-17 tie.....
Anyone taking PSU vs the field?
