calling her takes stupid or race baiting is fine, sure i get it....calling her a b**** and c*** its past the line. It baffles me that you people cannot see where the line is with basic human decency.10 points

I get why this might seem hypocritical. Unborn humans haven’t hurt anyone, so they deserve a shot at life, like Psalm 139:13 says. But someone who kills on purpose has gone too far, and texts like Genesis 9:6 and Romans 13:4 suggest they could face ultimate consequences to protect society. The hope is they’ll own up and find forgiveness before it’s done, like in Luke 23:43. It’s about protecting the innocent while ensuring justice for harm. Fewer Christians say life starts at breath or mercy spares killers, while most see the “fetus” as human with rights. We can wrestle in the mud like pigs over in the non-wrestling forum. No more words here in this fine society of college wrestling gentlemen.5 points

Obviously didn’t need to write anything down, he spoke from the heart. The fact that he even got back on the mat after this is truly amazing. What an inspiration.5 points

Mineo is making himself useful for once and posting her old tweets. She went after Stanford when they hired Ayres. Stanford's logical hiring pool is strictly guys who have succeeded at Ivy league programs that are willing to move to California for a slightly better job. I won't call her the b word or c word, but she is dumb.4 points

He was involved in at least 3 other vehicle thefts and the dad did not think he deserved to go to prison? It never should have gotten to this point. Why was he running the streets after the prior vehicle issues? Our judicial system really pisses me off most of the time. Criminals need to be held accountable for their actions.4 points

While I disagree with @Winners Circle on the character building value of significant weight cutting, I would point out that if scales were mat side, there would still be a need for disciplined weight management and some would likely still seek to lose weight. Health, nutrition, and discipline would all remain key areas of focus.3 points

The extra baggage that is his dad seems to be the issue. Also, less of an issue, but his brother might be a package deal, and he isn't near the 'get' that he is. Stewart had more off-mat things go wrong last season than anybody not named Sasso. None was his doing, mind you, but you have to respect that he is still a very young man with a dad that is essentially trying to live through him. He wasn't even allowed to process most of it because his dad can't keep his damn mouth shut.3 points

Wasn't NY Post the one that came out with accurate facts as it happened? Or maybe I've got my sources mixed up.2 points

I agree with everything you've said, fwiw. If he were able to just chill TF out, Stewart would spend the next two years competing for high AA honors at VTech and put this last season behind him.2 points

The current weigh in system was created for athlete safety. There haven't been any catastrophic issues since the 90s, and that is good enough for me. There have been many studies where people had their weight checked matside at events to see what kind of fluctuation there is post weigh in. I'd be interested to see those results to know what we are actually talking about.2 points

I see Michael Gioffre joined his brother Jack in the portal. Might be a good option for a mid-tier team looking to fill two holes. I imagine they are a package deal.2 points

Christian values like protecting society from monsters? Florida is moving in the right direction, with the death penalty for pedophiles. That probably bothers you too? Stop bringing God Emperor into your arguments. Its pathetic.2 points

I don’t think that was the point of it. I’d say the point was to confirm that he did actually leave and where he’s going. I don’t really get the hate for the lack of details, he shared way more than almost any other coach would have IMO2 points

At most colleges. Iowa, Penn State, tOSU, OKST, ISU, UNI, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Rutgers, Navy, Army, etc. So yes, she's making an issue where there is not one.2 points

I mean I guess she’s not wrong that there’s a lot of white people on staff at OSU but who cares lol? She seems to be making an issue where there isn’t one.2 points

This take reminds me a lot about the way doctors I know talk about the way residency "used to be". There was a culture issue that caused the old guard to cling to their belief that 120 or 130 work weeks toughened them up and prepared them for the practice of medicine - nevermind the errors, and oversights fatigued interns inevitably put into place. The direct harm to patients came second to the preservation of medical culture. There seems to be a mindset some people hold that goes along the lines of, "I had to suffer through, therefore you should too if you want to get where I am." In many specialties there are now limits on the number of hours interns are allowed to work in a given week. I would like to see the sport of wrestling ask, "what would be weigh-in procedure for the participants health?" And then create incentives to make that the most likely outcome. I think the bigger the gap between weigh-in and the start of a match the greater the incentive to attempt a deep cut.2 points

A guy who is an open supporter of terrorists, Hamas, China, anti America, burning American flags, wanting Americans to financially suffer…. Doesn’t get to take the moral high ground…… On anything. You’re a bad person and you need help.2 points

That was my read too. Not because I know anything negative about Kennedy, but just process of elimination. It seemed like the conflict wasn't with Taylor, but Taylor wasn't making it go away either -- and didn't make it to Gilman's 2-person-long "list of reasons to stay" (Troy/Roman). I've got to think if it were anyone but Kennedy, Taylor would go to bat for him, but Taylor's hands are sort of tied with Kennedy. Gilman's such an interesting cat. Stubborn, hotheaded, abrasive... but also loyal, self-aware, driven, honest to a fault. I find it hard not to like him. I can see how he'd have a personality conflict with someone, but I also see why PSU would want to have him back.2 points

Yeah. I get it. Dude went for the next best thing. When you're offered more money than you've ever made, and you have some certainty directly after a very personal, public failure (to make an Olympic team), it makes sense. But, after a year of doing the actual job, in Stillwater, maybe it didn't make sense for him/his family any more.1 point

I thought I saw his salary at OSU posted a while back. Someone did a public records search. I'm guessing he made more as an OSU assistant than he will as an NLWC athlete/coach.1 point

He should get credit for Spratley but 125 is such a toss up weight. He was at PSU last year when Davis didn't AA and none of their other lightweight at OSU AA'd, including 133 who didn't qualify for NCAAs. He did a good job this year but he has only coached for 1 year. Let's not put him in the HOF of coaches just yet.1 point

I'm all for reforming the review process. Seems like it's a problem across the board in most sports these days. My wife was just complaining the other day that the video reviews are ruining March Madness for her. The last two minutes of games now takes at least 20.1 point

Overtime needs to come back. They can do a series of positions like they did in the past or something, but this tiebreak nonsense is completely arbitrary and stupid. I have openly hated it in all styles from the beginning, and will until the end of time. It was created in an era of fear from the governing body of the sport globally, and it needs to go. Greco rules also blow broadly. The pushout has completely ruined greco. It works for freestyle, but it is terrible for Greco.1 point

Overcomplicating things. Replace this weird rule and criteria with SV.1 point

How does that not apply to a 2-2 tie or a 3-3 tie. If they go to this it should be a tie breaker rule rather than just a 1-1 tie breaker rule. The same gaming the shot clock would apply. mspart1 point
