AND Republicans. This is not on the Dems exclusively. This is on every politician sent to Washington in the past 50 years or more. Every damn one. And it is on the media for not being our watchdogs and reporting about all of this nonsense. For our colleague whose defense is "it isn't fraud": It might not be fraud in the legal sense of the word but it also was not anything those who want it would advertise and exclaim proudly to all the American people that they were doing with our federal budget - 30% of which is borrowed and payable by our grandchildren. Democracy dies in darkness exclaims the banner on one of our countries "main" newspapers. That particular newspaper was part of the vast network casting the shawdows creating all of the darkness aroiund USAID and the soon be revealed other government mis-spending of my money and my grandchildren's future earnings.3 points

Great, very fun dual. Sparks obviously wouldn’t have tech’d Gallagher and Askey wouldn’t have majored Sasso, but you go with who you got I suppose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Is it? Gophers still favored at 157, 165 and 184. I’m guessing a 5-5 split at this point Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Indeed. Last Sunday's Iowa-Maryland dual a prime example. Maryland opened +32.5, and given how Brands has tinkered with his lineup, it was reasonable to think he might do that in a dual he knew Iowa would win. Sure enough, Ayala and Teemer were not in the lineup, which allowed for a sweat-free Maryland win even though Iowa won the toss-up matches at 184 and HWT.2 points

The conditions in which they work sucks. That's why there is a shortage. You are a Middle School or HS teacher, you have a freakishly good chance of being assaulted by a student or the class is held hostage to an unruly student(s), such that you cannot deliver the content you need to get out. And there are no repercussions to the student. We have given students so many rights and privileges that they can disrupt the learning environment and assault staff with virtual impunity. And the real problem is the parents who think their little johnny is such an angel and couldn't do this and don't punish the cherub at home for their behavior in school. It is a societal decline that has been in the making for decades. I am old enough that I was spanked in elementary and one time in jr high. They called it swat in jr high. More manly. We never had the kinds of issues in the 60's and 70's that they have now. Teachers had it easy back then. Because if you did something at school and got punished, you prayed your parents didn't find out because it would be worse at home. That doesn't happen anymore. No amount of money will change that. That would have to be a societal change. mspart2 points

For those of us who are Chael fans I am still torn up about how the UFC cheated him out of a title. Them not explaining that tapping ended the bout & not the round is still a top 5 scandal.2 points

spot on. one could point to a couple guys that didn't pan out, but psu has also passed on a good number of highly ranked guys in favor of others who go on to better careers. there isn't a coach in the country who i talk to about recruits that identifies kids as well, or as early, as Cael.2 points

this is among the biggest scandals ever imo. the massive amount of fraud, waste, and payouts from taxpayer money. and USAID is reportedly just 1% of the budget. wait till they drill down into other programs. there's a whole thread on here from when the concept of DOGE was started and the lefties mocked it. where they at now? zero intelligence or vision; just partisan ignorance. they're totally ok with govt corruption and crooked politicians as long as it's their side. truly gross. and the lunacy of their leaders was fully on display in that pitiful chant led by career politicians Schumer and Waters. imagine two of the faces of your party staring down clear government corruption and chanting on the steps of congress to stop the audit that exposes it. the democrat party is scum.2 points

That's Chael's schtick. It's hilarious. He does it to multiple people. Probably gets a ton of engagement from it from people commenting. Did it to Crookham's name on Bo Nickal's podcast. Butchered Lilledahl's name as well.1 point

Geno is inconsistent. His last world title was in 2019 then he wins the Olympics in 2024. He also had some very fortunate draws being opposite side of both Akgul and Zare in 2021, 2022, 2023 AND 2024. Or maybe Georgia was just smart with getting seeding points, I don't know. 2022 he didn't make the final and lost to Mongolia. Considering his age, how long he's been around and finally getting the olympic gold I am going to predict Geno's results dip from here. Could be wrong as I thought after Yaz finally managed to beat Taylor in 2021 that he'd figured Taylor out and would beat him through 2024 and instead he ended up having his worse losses to Taylor in 2022 and 2023 with the matches no longer even being competitive. I would like to Steveson come back. He has a much more pleasing to watch style of wrestling than Zare.1 point

Wow, I thought he was pushing 40 and assumed he would be done after the last Olympics. Would've never guessed he was 30.1 point

Well of the 3 wrestling programs between PSU, Iowa and OSU, wasn’t OSU the only one to have an actual doping scandal in recent years? Although at least the garage water supplier is gone.1 point

It’s funny that it’s “refreshing” that the top guys are going to the other 2 schools that have won every title except 4 in the last 37 years. But it actually is.1 point

Fine by me, hopefully now we can stop being distracted by like the one person per year across all sports that this actually had any impact on. So female to male can’t compete in the men’s division?1 point

You’ve just shown yourself to be complete and total douchebag that has no problem what so ever running his mouth about *I poop my pants, don't laugh at me* he has no idea about. You are literally the worst kind of American. There are people being kicked out right now that deserve America more than you.1 point

Interestingly Massoumi was told in the post medal ceremony interview that Gabel Stevenson may make a come back. He said it may be best if he remained retired having left on top as he may not get the results he wants having been away from the game for 4 years. At least Masoumi does not seem bothered but I wonder if he is right. Will Gable be at the same level having been away from the sport for a bit….1 point

the dude just loves college wrestling. He wrestled for Oregon. From his NWHOF bio: Chael Sonnen was an All-American at 190 pounds for the University of Oregon in 1998 and was a two-time Pac-10 conference runner-up. He also had a successful career in Greco-Roman wrestling, winning University National titles in 1999 and 2000 at 187.25 pounds.1 point

Well, 51% of Congress and 4th grade judges better start lining up and defending/refunding (i.e. funding again) all of these things or get the FBI to start arresting and charging all of the illegals doing illegal things. Otherwise, they are legal. Let's call it . . . prosecutorial discretion. Soros' prosecutors are very good at discretioning what are and are not crimes regardless of the laws passed by legislatures so the new kids on the block can start discretioning constitutional crimes. Ultimately, the populace passes judgment at the ballot box - unless Russian pee stories and lap top hoaxes sway our electorate again.1 point

From the "bang ourselves in the balls with a balpeen hammer" department, the EU finds ways to further punish people who are just not EV enough! Stupid is as stupid does and drives its economy further into disrepair in the ongoing manmade disaster known as the climate hoax: https://www.autonews.com/ev/ane-phev-utility-factor-higher-emissions/?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Newsletter-ANEDontMiss-20250205 A very telling term is "revised emissions measurement . . . CO2 ratings". An emissions measurement that was 100% off shows just how much guessing and imposing and mandating and non-fact based this whole hoax is. What the hell is a CO2 rating? When bureaucrats get involved the credits and counts and ratings are all a game and may the best gamer win. Oh, and things that are measurably good for the environment - like VW's and others small diesel engines that got incredible gas mileage - get thrown on the trash heap because VW figured out how to win the silly game to the embarrassment of the game-makers.1 point
