So many people just don't understand the amount of salt is the proper seasoning. Salt has been demonized but it really is the key to all great dishes. At least in my opinion.3 points

That sounds nice. I do a lemon pepper smoked tri tip sandwich with caramelized red onions and a sweet bbq sauce. tri tip is underrated.3 points

I remember Matt McDonough had a headgear that looked like it was an antique from the Gable era, held together with dirty athletic tape.3 points

The takedown which I referenced in the "Fastest TD ever" thread was his third. https://i.imgur.com/dMX9tRk.mp42 points

Ha. I have. My wife also wonders what I do with any juice that leaks out of the steaks when they’re resting. Well I put them in my baked potato. I do almost always make an extra baked potato or two. And I’ll smash them and fry them in the morning with eggs. And or bacon etc.2 points

I made a beef tenderloin on cast iron griddle last nite with cut potatos and carmelized brussels sprouts. The tenderloin was with just a little oil, salt and pepper on it one hour in advance. 3 minutes a side, then 1 1/2 minute on the sides of the tenderloin. 5 minutes rest. Meat eater's delight.2 points

French onion soup to start then beef tenderloin in the dutch oven with a red wine sauce. Sides are lemon burrata gnocchi, smashed parmesan brussel sprouts, and baked parm asparagus. I make it every year and will continue to do so until the day we have any leftovers.2 points

My family fondue’s on Christmas Day, been our tradition since the 80’s. Lots of venison, shrimp, anything wrapped in bacon. Have a cheese fountain and a chocolate fountain to go with other foods. I may feel grease pumping through my arteries for a week after, but man it’s great in the moment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

We do a nice tri tip over a bed of carrots and potatoes. We sear both sides then roast it on top of the carrots/potatoes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Yeah...they were really good as well. Obviously when you have a kid who is a 4 time finalist...he's gonna be in the conversation(while taking a Silver in the World Championships). I just think Poeta gets overlooked. Just so clean. Had to Wrestle up at '65 as I think the two Tirapelle brothers were still there(I think, at least ), then went 3/2/2 at '57. Pretty similar to Gillman. Was a backup as a Freshmen, Poeta went up.2 points

I would argue he didn't have KOT's arm pulled as much as KOT was grabbing around his neck with his right arm while his left was around the leg so he could push the head away while pulling the leg in.. and then Haines put the leg in to prevent himself from sliding off. It was close either way, but I didn't feel that KOT ever stopped improving his position despite the leg coming in and slowing his improvement. Obviously I was rooting for Keegan, but I also want calls to be correct, and in the moment I was afraid they were going to call a premature TD for Haines because I wanted the position to play out. I also wish they would have waited to call the takedown until Keegan had it confirmed beyond a doubt and given Levi a chance to scramble (I think the TD was eminent, but would have preferred the situation played out fully). If leg in position happened with Haines starting on top, I think most people would say that Keegan was in a better position for a reversal than Haines was from maintaining control.. Because he really didn't have any control in that position, it just resembled being on top, despite not having control.2 points

I really believe he is the most talented wrestler in college right now. I think his brain both physically and mentally seems to be the only thing holding him back. I watched the Ed Scott match 4 or 5 times he scored 4 takedowns with 4 different attacks and made them all look relatively effortless. Not entirely sure what the purpose of this thread is I guess to say hes my pick to win NCAA's and I just hope he is able to stay healthy.1 point

It’s kind of weird that you’re omitting coaches and senior level partners in the case of Lilledahl (Nick Lee, Cody Sanderson, Jordan Conaway) as if there’s no one there to coach him or practice with him. Ironically, the same guys that got Gilman and RBY to the Olympics. Oh, and Lilledahl has beaten Spratley the last three times they’ve wrestled…as a high school kid. Yeah, except the DoJ did an exhaustive investigation and declined to charge him. I will say it’s a shame there’s no laptop left unclaimed, ‘cause you, @Le duke, and this ethics committee have all the earmarks of a Russian misinformation operation.1 point

My aunt was known for her angel pies. I loved the little golden drops that would seep through the meringue.1 point

What about pies? My #1 is always rhubarb but a lot of close seconds. Perhaps though ye all being former wrestlers, and one swimmer, doth abstain from such indulgences.1 point

Why doesn't each wrestler have a backup pair of head gear? Too many time I see coaches scrambling to find a headgear that fits during matches after breakage.1 point

It could light up... like a bunch of scorpions hanging out it their lair. OR worse yet... like a police detective's black light at a crime scene, IF, you know what I mean. D31 point

Some of these sound pretty awesome. I do two potato’s I’m Irish after all. this year I’m doing a fondant potato. They are pretty fantastic and easier than they sound. the second one is either a confit garlic mashed potato with heavy cream and butter or a steak house style scalloped potato. Essentially whichever the wife pics For the other sides I’m doing a candied pecan dried cranberry Brussels sprouts and a creamy Parmesan sautéed spinach.1 point

I love dry brining steaks over night in the fridge. Also poultry too. Look it up it’s a game changer.1 point

That’s too bad. I thought you would have advice for the poor victim here guess you don’t. I can’t answer your other question. Penny didn’t murder anyone and I don’t know if you saw. A court exonerated him.1 point

It may have been but I know around that time it was “cool” to have dirty athletic tape on your headgear, I did it myself. Looking back that was definitely unsanitary. But to the OP, yes that would be a good idea, not sure why guys don’t do it. Of course a better idea would be to make headgear optional in matches (but required in practices where most cauliflower ear is gotten anyway)1 point

Something happened being that not many can hold up against the unrelenting pressure of Mesenbrink. I'm not a PSU guy, but MM puts on a pressure that matches, or I would argue surpasses that pace that peak Metcalf put on his opponents. You can score early, but you also have to be able to hold him off in the third. When it comes to Hamiti, I think he is close to the level, but he's definitely an underdog going into a match against either. I don't think those matches are a toss up, but I think he's close enough that if he wrestles a great match, he can certainly pull an upset.1 point

Hendrickson is a better technician, but Steveson is quicker, stronger, faster and has a snap down go behind from hell. Hendrickson is legitimately a top 20 in the US, at any level, technician. It just so happens he can't execute that technique against opponents who are the (formerly and hopefully still) best in the world or a big ass oak tree. Don't forget that right before Parris won a world medal Hendrickson darn near broke his ribs. Levels and such, just giving him his proper respect on the way to another 3rd place medal.1 point

You’re the only one I know who can answer this from a place of authority. We need your help. How did you handle a situation where an illegal alien tried to set you on fire on a train? Did you pull a Mr Miagi karate kid defense on a train? Did you Jedi mind trick and say these are not the Americans you’re looking for? Did you Mork and Mindy nanu nanu your way out of it? Did you pull an 80s montage song and somehow out smart them?1 point

He did win 1/2 of the National Qualifying tournament, but let's get a reality check. None of the better wrestlers competed like Higuchi, Ono, or even the lower tiered guys etc.. The last time he competed at an Olympic weight in 2023 Meiji Cup, he finished 16th. I definitely think working with DT can tighten his technique up, but executing it against Ono is a different story His sister does go to college in the US, but I have no clue why. Doesn't even make sense because the university she used to go to in Japan is light years better than where she is now at Northern Michigan. The problem for her is that she can't beat any of the top tier 50 or 53kg women in Japan. The last time she entered a fully loaded Emperor's Cup(2022 Japan Olympic qualifier), she lost in the 1st round to the 9th ranked wrestler by tech.1 point

Which is why we have sexist insurance rates that charge young men more . . . or perhaps that are based on actual science. And what the OP (I think you are referring to me in this case) means is that we don't need more dummies and that the lady in the video is a blowhard who is trying only to create hate and discontent where none is warranted. Women die at about half the rate as men on the roads of America. No more dummies costing millions of tax dollars "to study and develop" are needed. If the insurance industry or the automotive industry wants to use their shareholders' dollars to study and develop better dummies then let them do it.1 point

I would put Tyler Caldwell, Dylan Ness, and Trent Hidlay up there as two time runner-ups and four time AAs. For guys who also got it done on the international scene I would include Myles Amine, Sebastian Rivera, and James Green. Greatest brother pair has to be Hayden and Trent Hidlay. Both four time AAs.1 point

Where does it say that. I believe the mocking was asking if she was in the incredibles. I’m pretty sure y’all inferred what you wanted to infer. given this stuff exists already. What crisis do the tax payers need to pony up $$$$$ for? One has been in use for what? 22 years? Doesn’t congress have bigger fish to fry? Like this. This is super important to jam in before musk comes in to fire them. I think Marge Simpson calls him president musk now lol Biden admin looks to hire up to 1,200 DEI employees in last-minute 'woke' push https://www.dailywire.com/news/feds-look-to-hire-up-to-1200-new-dei-bureaucrats-before-trump-takes-office The jobs have annual salaries of up to $310,000, and could add up to total salary payouts of $160 million a year.1 point

Seems likely. Last year with four #1 seeds, two #2 seeds, a #6 seed, a #7 seed, an administratively under-seeded #9 seed, and a #10 seed, they still only managed 8 AA's. It turns out 10 AA's is really hard.1 point
