Biggest difference between what happened to ASU and what happened to the gophers imo is the guys ASU lost are all on their last year of competition. So while it obviously has a huge impact on this season it shouldn’t change a lot of long term plans, they should have already been looking at replacements. When the gophers lost Spratley, Nagao and Jamison they each had 3+ years left and the gophers were left scrambling, not just for the year it happened but also the 3 years following. That’s much more impactful and worse imo. Also, it didn’t just “happen” to the gophers, they did not do enough to keep those guys around and should have, but I love the lessons learned and the way they rebounded. I agree...terrible hit...should be punished to the fullest extent. I like the suspension penalty dependent on the severity of the injured player.2 points

I think where activists on the left go wrong is when they turn away from the tenants of a liberal society. Where many of the victories of liberal society were appeals to equality before the law or put more simply, fairness, now many of the fights are not appeals to that. You cannot convince most people that it is fair to let anyone who has gone through male puberty compete against women, you cannot convince people that it is fair to prioritize one group of people over another due to historical wrongs against their race or gender. Affirmative Action is unpopular even among the groups it is meant to help. I think there is an insufficient amount of liberalism in the air today rather than too much because so many tenants of liberalism are being explicitly rejected. Instead of ground up arguments based on the tenants of liberalism we get top down decrees from "the experts."2 points

I highly doubt it. He's on track to start next year in football. Wrestling would be a great way to blow that opportunity since he's already undersized.1 point

to me it seem like H82Lose was making the assumption that his weight is a function of his eating habits more than drinking habits- and that considering he was a 2X national champ wrestler who likely had to undergo serious weightcutting, the comment was made on his part, to reflect that he had earned the right as an adult to forget about his waist line. separately, he does not approve of perry's relationship with alcohol, but does not primarily attribute that to change in his physical state (rightly or wrongly - I dont think any of us are doctors). but that's how I saw his comments which didn't present as contradictory in that manner1 point

That was the big hang up on him, too much extra stuff in his private life. I heard all kinds of stuff, and honestly, I have personally witnessed some. Nothing major, he just likes to throw some back. I do not know about that now, I am hoping this was a humbling experience for him and he gets his stuff together and grows up. I know a lot of guys at Stillwater that love him, dads and the kids, and I really never understood it. I mean, I didn't know how much he really knew. I hear now, that he is super knowledgable, positions, top, and strategy type stuff. The kids love him, and he fits right in. So, I apologize for the long answer, Drinking and etc......was always the problem, I have not heard anything about it from Ames, but AMes is a lot further away from me than Stilly.1 point

Electricity came back on Saturday before Thanksgiving in the evening. We at out at the Mexican place and the power was on when we got home. So we will do that from now on hoping that is a causal relationship. Slept a lot, or wanted to. Turkey sandwich today was full of smoky goodness!! mspart1 point

I will admit fascination with the extreme creativity of the pardon; being for all acts committed ever since Creation until Armageddon. That was a creative twist I did not see coming. I wonder if St. Peter is bound to honor the pardon?1 point

Any athlete who injures an opponent while committing a foul should be out for at least the same amount of time the other athlete is out. Cause a season ending injury. Your season is over. End a career . . .1 point

Even if he was completely healthy, as the 3 seed there was still a 17% probability he does not AA. Edit: Restated for the Iowa fans in the audience, there was an 83% he AA'd.1 point

No he wouldn't have. He was physically incapacitated.1 point

I believe the “Suriano level” comment was more about his potential, not necessarily what he’s already accomplished. Although IIRC I saw a poster saying one of the rumor-starter’s comments about the PSU guy was that he was “more accomplished than SVN,” although I did not see that comment personally. Which would pretty much only leave Haines and Mesenbrink as options, which I doubt.1 point

You’re beyond a tool bag. You may be worse than dirty taint. for the record: Taint is a term used to refer to the perineum (the region of the human body between the testicles or vagina and the anus).1 point

The question is - Who didn't see this coming? Joe has lied his entire career. This is a way to protect himself as well has his son. RVs Trump twist is laughable. mspart1 point

Minnesota lost Spratley, Nagao, and Jamison in one offseason but filled in very well with Flynn, Wells, and Vombaur. 2 of the 3 which are currently ranked higher than the departed at their respective weights.1 point

That is 38-2 dual meet individual matches. The two matches lost (both by Whiting) were 2-0 and 11-9. Like I was saying, very solid top to bottom!1 point

I am a diehard SDSU fan and I cannot think of anyone that we lost haha. I appreciate the sentiment brother! Gophers are looking tough. Outside of probably 149, they have someone that could AA at every weight class.1 point

Who did they lose? Gained Julian Tagg too. Managed to keep Devos and Berge, who I’m sure got plenty of calls to jump ship. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

You don't have a problem with aliens breaking our immigration rules but you think all should be forced to follow NCAA rules. You don't see the hypocrisy in that? Moreover pretty sure individuals and teams are well within the rules by choosing not to compete in an event.1 point

For Trump, someone’s subservience to his will is the most valuable quality and outweighs all others. No one else is as willing to engage in the “lawfare” Republicans think is happening now (while Hunter Biden, Sen. Bob Menendez, etc. are awaiting sentencing) as Kashyap Patel. Here’s a quote from ol’ Kashyap: By “all-American patriots”, he means people who don’t give a *I poop my pants, don't laugh at me* about the rule of law and will do whatever he tells him. Also: I’ll wager anyone here $1000 that Trump purges senior military leaders or uses the military against US civilians. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Tell me you're stupid without telling me you're stupid. This isn't some simple thing. Like if you go bald, you don't put a wig on and claim that it's real. Or if you're 5'7 you don't insist you're really 6'4. Where both sides are wrong is that there is a simple or easy fix to this. Trump makes the worst argument because he just plays to stupid people who believe things like Haitian immigrants eat pets, Mexicans are all drug traffickers and rapists (he launched his first presidential bid by saying that). We don't have a problem with illegal immigration. I'll maintain that opinion until something changes. Our problem is we're addicted to cheap and or illegal labor and employment. If that wasn't a possibility, then you would see it a lot less. As far as stopping people at the border, short of basically putting up various traps, and ordering the military to shoot people on sight, both of which would be violations of international law, you aren't going to stop people. You probably don't know, don't care and probably won't even read this far because you saw something bright and shiny, but poor and desperate people with little to lose who try coming here illegally aren't going to be easily discouraged. To them, coming here to wash dishes at Denny's is a lot better than what they could have hoped for wherever they come from. So to someone like that, they're going to find a way or die trying. The corpses of the unfortunate ones are scattered all across the Tohono O'odham reservation as proof of that. Have you ever found a dead and decaying dead body like that? I have. It's not pleasant and extremely sad.1 point

Imagine how hard that'd be though? Nelson Brands has taken a 5th...so it's not like there are many guys who are just so clearly better than him. Then it seems like just about every Father thinks their son is juust a bit better than he really is and it's pretty easy to justify.1 point
