Happy October everyone. The weather is cooling down, the kids are back in school, and that means that preseason workouts are well underway, with the season just around the corner. If you are all interested I would love to use this thread to post about 2024 college wrestle offs. Best matchups, dates of competitions, streaming opportunities, results, etc. If there is already an older thread dedicated to this, please forgive me and I can delete this topic immediately. Just trying to stay ahead of the game for the 2024 season! Happy posting, ya'll!4 points

I find it incredible that Sasso may even crack the starting lineup in a room as tough as tOSU after such a catastrophic injury. That alone is an amazing comeback story.3 points

This is not hard. Tax the electricity upon input to the vehicle. Just like we tax gasoline now - when and where it is dispensed. No tracking the car. Heavier and less efficient vehicles pay more road tax per mile than lighter more efficient ones. The concept already exists. Just implement it. Actually, hybrids like the Prius are the tricky ones. Plug in Hybrids just can pay taxes at the pump and at the electric meter. But Prius-type hybrids only input energy at the pump. Those are the hard ones to tax appropriately for road use.2 points

Probably. It’s less relevant for pres election. I’ll go off on a limb. Pencil in blue delegates for whomever runs on the pres election. But yes. In local elections it may matter1 point

I must be really bad at scoring... I thought it looked like a 12-2 TF, early in the 2nd period. 1st exchange: Sadulaev 4, Bagaev 1 2nd exchange: Sadulaev 2, Bagaev 1 6-2 at intermission 3rd exchange: Sadulaev TD (2) & two exposures (2+2). 12-2 Tech Fall.1 point

Fly into Rome and drive or boat to Albania. For the drive, Venice would be closer. Not too far away. mspart1 point

Although you reject this, you are pro hamas and pro hezbollah. Your statement above proves that. You say they now want peace for a Palestinian state. Because they are getting their butts handed to them. But they have rejected every such proposal in the past. They do not want a Palestinian state. They want Israel gone. Period. From the river to the sea. That is what they want. Israel is not in agreement so they are the bad guy. mspart1 point

My take: 133 - Witcraft VS McComas 141 - Hughes, Young or Jamison could go down if they lose the wrestleoff up at 149 149 - Jamison VS Young 157 - Fish VS Teague (If Fish loses, he Redshirts), Young could go up if he loses to Jamison 197 - Surber VS Merrill (Merrill could redshirt, if he loses)1 point

And you are complaining about it when they defend themselves. They have not gone to war against anyone as the aggressor. They have answered the aggressor with very aggressive defense. And the world has a tizzy when that happens. Jordan and Egypt have learned their lesson. They don't do that anymore you'll notice. Iran has pushed them to their limit via hamas and hezbollah. Iran just fired over a hundred missiles at Israel. But I'm sure you will say Israel should not retaliate. That is just idiotic. Iran did this precisely for the carnage of hezbollah, they said so. Their favorite pet has been squashed because they were planting the seeds of major escalation. So your solution would be for Israel to forgive Iran for over a hundred missiles, hexbollah for constant rocket attacks, hamas for constant rocket attacks and an incursion that killed 1200 people and carried off 200 prisoners. It won't end until Israel is allowed to defend itself properly and learn these guys to stop attacking them like they did with Jordan and Egypt. mspart1 point

Is Israel more violent, or have they been attacked more than any country in world history? mspart1 point

Middle East is plenty violent without Israel. Sectarian violence between different tribes, religious denominations etc is so common over there it’s normal. If you don’t know that you are very uninformed.1 point

He's obviously phenomenal, but not everyone at 97 is a little soft in the middle like him. He fills out the weight better at 92 in my personal opinion. But again, he's so explosive in the lower half, he still out horsepowers guys at 97.1 point

Again, I don't think you understand what triggered means. You actively jumped on every active thread that mentioned David Taylor and persistently bashed him for succeeding in being the best for many days in a row. That was a prime example of someone that is (and was) triggered, be it jealousy, annoyance, or hate - you acted triggered. You got called out on it and realized the interpretation of you actually being the one that was triggered was correct so you slunk away and are now playing the defensive 'oh no you guys are being mean to me and singling me out!' and 'I ackchooally have a job so i kant re-sponds' card. I didn't think you would play this victim card. That isn't even Beta shit - grow a pair. You are correct, though - I will give you that: You are entitled to your own opinion. It can also be wrong. It appears that you are having difficulty accepting accountability for that. That is a you thing, not an anyone else thing - let alone a group thing. You don't need to try so hard to fail. You do a swimmingly swell job at doing that by simply existing.1 point

Hard to see Keck scoring on Star, assuming both are fit enough for the match this early in the season. Wonder if a negative result here might encourage Keck to move up to 197.1 point

The progress is that Russia failed to carry out the full takeover of Ukraine and is now entrenched in a situation even worse than what the U.S. faced in Vietnam. Ukrainians get to defend their land so that they don't become subjects of Russian tyranny. And the support has essentially prevented the invasion of Poland, Estonia, and Moldova, which are other countries with territory that Putin claims is actually part of Russia. On top of that, the defense of Ukraine has been a deterrent to China who would like to invade Taiwan. Lastly, it has further isolated Iran from the entire world because they have been supplying weapons to Russia. I think we are mostly sending weapons, not money, and my guess it they are being fired at the invading Russian army.1 point

How is what the U.S. is doing in Ukraine any different than what the USSR did in Vietnam to fund and arm North Vietnam? How is it any closer to WW3 than when the U.S. provided arms to Afghanistan when the USSR invaded Afghanistan? We were much closer to war with the Soviet Union then than we are with Russia now. There is a long history of proxy warfare not leading to direct war between countries, and the war in Ukraine is just another example of proxy warfare. Russia is trying to fulfill its own imperialistic goals of conquest, and the Western countries are arming Ukraine to prevent that conquest because they recognize that Poland, Moldova, and Estonia would be the next countries to be invaded. Some in this country unfortunately believe that Russia, Iran, and China are just in this conflict, and the U.S. is a force for bad in the world and should withdraw its support. It's analogous to how many in the U.S. took the side of the USSR throughout the cold war.1 point

My take is we will look back on Oct. 7th as the point when Iran miscalculated and went too far. They have created a situation where if they don’t respond they look weak, which is a big no no in the Middle East. It is very dangerous domestically for the regime. If they do respond, they risk getting drawn into a fight with Israel. In the last week Israel has shown that they have been pushed too far and the status quo that has existed recently is gone. All red lines that Iran and their proxies thought existed are gone. Iran’s strategy has not been to get into a war with Israel, but to use their proxies to make life unlivable there. What they didn’t count on was getting hit at home. Israel can easily take out their oil fields and refineries, which is probably check mate for the regime their. Israel has shown recently they will go their if needed. Make no mistake, taking out Nasrallah is a game changer.1 point
