  1. This isn't the late-night Rock Lobster or the victimized ThreePointTD. I initially thought it might be Neutral, but that's not it either. The Red Viking selection is a 70%+ match. The member is direct, confrontational, sarcastic, humorous, dismissive, a lazy thinker, and ignorantly dishonest.

  2. Ironically red Viking’s last visit is the 17th too. So day time poster of old is red Viking and drunk late night one is rock lobster and both are now the new Willie guy?

  3. This season there are no returning wrestlers who have a chance to become a four-timer.* The last time a season started without a returning wrestler who had a chance to become a four-timer was 2010. That was the season Kyle Dake started his epic run through four weights in four years. Every year since there was at least one guy on a streak. And how about 2022? We started that season with 7 returning wrestlers who had a shot at becoming four-timers. And three of them did. * I am not including Ferrari until I am certain about the ORS he claims. Freshmen and redshirt freshmen are on a three year run without a title. Do any of the crop of freshmen or redshirt freshmen have a realistic shot at winning this season?

  5. In the sense that when the government will not do the tasks assigned to it (maintain law and order, borders, etc.) then the civilian population must do it. This is a complete failure of democratic governance at the local, city, state, national, and international level. This is not surprising, astonishing, or in any way not predictable. Yet BLM still thinks that nerdy white guys in the suburbs who are just trying to get to work on time, pay their mortgage, pay their taxes (which is more of their income than their mortgage), and get along is the threat. Let the games begin. Real life Escape from New York type things are about to happen - courtesy of your own votes, Chicagoans! En garde.

  6. Tsirtsis was a redshirt freshman and Cox was a true freshman in 2014 when they won titles. Tsirtsis wound up going 1, 3, R16, RS, 7 Cox was 1, 5, 1, 1

  8. Mendoza is super tough. He could be really good for Mizzou. Multi-time AA level talent. Also, Jake Hockaday is really good. I feel like he's one of those guys who flies under the radar a bit (unless you're a bracket nerd and notice what @Truzzcat noticed, that he places high everywhere) and then really hits his stride in college. He committed to Oklahoma, IIRC.

  10. Hassan Yazdani had his shoulders operated on. The operation took 7 hours, and they operated on three different parts of his shoulder. Some reports forecast that he will be out for 1-2 years. Personally, I fear that he may be finished. https://www.khabarvarzeshi.com/news/475455/توپ-فوتبال-روی-کتف-حسن-یزدانی-تصویر-عجیب-پادشاه-کشتی-بعد-از

  12. These sorts of arguments puzzle me. Let's imagine that John Smith didn't retire after '92, and instead decided to stick around another quad. In '93 he takes bronze, in 94 he loses at WTTs but bumps up a weight and wins gold, in '95 he wins bronze, and in 96 he makes the Olympic team but DNPs, and leaves his shoes on his mat. Still pretty impressive right? Instead of having 6 golds, now he has 7 golds and 2 bronzes. Not as successful as his first 6 years, but still an impressive addition to his legacy! But wait -- by sticking around another quad, did he those 3 additional medals cause him to LOSE his status as GOAT? Since, after all, he "lost his spot and had to move" to another weight, and he also "didn't medal during one of his Olympic competitions." Crazy, right? It seems really weird to argue that if you quit early, during your prime, you have a better argument at being the GOAT than if you'd stuck it out longer and brought home even more hardware (including gold). Especially since EVERY athlete is eventually going to fade, lose to younger competition, DNP at a big tournament, etc. Even if you're less successful in your later years, it isn't like it erases or cheapens what you did earlier. Bottom line, quitting early shouldn't help your case to be GOAT. Sticking it out and racking up medals should only help, as it shows not just excellence in your prime, but excellence over time.

  13. I said 190/197. I think we have had more unique/separate multi-time champs at the other weights.

  14. I’m pretty sure Michael Jordan is the GOAT and I’m positive he was not nearly as good at the end of his i career as he was in the middle. This isn’t hard to understand.

  15. Ok let’s. In 2022 at 79kg by my count there are a minimum of 7 former Soviet countries represented in JB’s weight that year. In fact both bronze medalists are from former Soviet states. He beat an Iranian in the finals. Compare that to a Canadian who never places before or after and an East German.

  16. No they don’t. One year Smith won a JV tournament by the standards of JB’s competition. I love John Smith. Always have always will. But that’s just a fact. He beat Canadian Gary Bohay in the finals who never placed before of after the 1989 worlds and the East German placed 3rd. Show me one single year that JB ever had to wrestle a tournament like that. Dude has 4 Russians in his weight nearly every year he competed. And in much more condensed weight classes. He also has ANOTHER world gold over Smith.

  17. Wait what...we can't use only 100 years or so of climate data to determine our climate and show "proof" that it is in fact warming at an alarming rate due to humans???? Say it isn't so!!

  20. ??? Maybe I did not make it clear. I am all for American Criminals going after Illegal Alien Criminals if the dem-bosses in demlands won't do it. The gangbangers may be bad guys but at least they are OUR bad guys so they get the nod over the Illegal Alien Bad Guys. No terror here. Mild bemusement is a more accurate way to describe it. Oh, also, not a GOPer. Just watching the passing scene and commenting from time to time.

  22. He refers to himself as the GOAT because he is the GOAT. He's messed with the PSU fan base for years? If you consider keeping their guys off of world and Olympic teams as "messing with them" then maybe you have a point. Show us the tweet that said if you rooted against him you should be ashamed of yourself.

I don’t relish relating your father’s frustrations with you, some you reveal here, but while you’re contemplating who is 0-2 in assassination attempts, you might wade in on the You Won’t Hear This On ABC thread and attempt to explain how the guy who incited an erection promoted using troops to prevent violence.

  29. it is kind of weird having the Dems running against the record of the Dems. Doubly weird to have the Kam-eleon run against her own record. The problem is that the Dem and brain dead independents are too stupid (or too indoctrinated) to know this.

  32. Always with the JB fanboying , ridiculous this dude is 35 yr old multiple time world and Olympic champ and who literally can’t help himself from being petty on instragram bc of a match with a 19 yr old 6 months ago where he did some dirty stuff and got booed by the drunk home team fans .. like grow up , and everyone always defending everything he does. He refers to himself as the “goat” for christs sake , gets petty with a fan base he’s messed with for years bc he believes everyone should respect him with no critique bc he won an Olympic gold 12 years ago ..this is a man who needed to tweet in 2016 that any fan who rooted against him at trials should be ashamed of themselves..for how great of an athlete he is he’s really thinned skinned and petty

  34. I agree. I wish that staff got their start somewhere else(not to mention the shit show at the end of spring semester). Wasn't there a factor of Pritzlaff's kid moving to New York(someone said that on here)? Maybe that implies that this is not a long term commitment.

  37. I'm sure that news organizations have been reporting it since March. I think the larger question is why are the Haitians there in such large numbers? Then I would ask how did they get there? Who was supposed to pay for all the expenses? There are so many problems there that need to be addressed. The sad thing is there are literally thousands of Springfields all across the country that dealing with exactly the same problems. This influx of legal and illegal immigrants is costing these community's billions of dollars. All of their police dept., hospitals, schools and social services are being overwhelmed.

  38. Maybe there are points there that apply generally, but Soccer is a sport that billions of people around the world like, and is the #1 sport for almost every country. In the U.S. it's not close to one of the top sports. I think you might even have better athletes playing lacrosse than soccer in the U.S. That's the main issue. The issue is wrestling is different. We only have to beat Russia, Iran, and Japan, and none of those countries consider wrestling to be their #1 sport (maybe Iran does, but they have next to no resources to support it). The problem is that most of the time here is spent training a different ruleset that doesn't penalize back exposure. If all we did is change the rules of folkstyle so that neutral back exposure results in 3 or 4 points from the feet and 2 from a grounded position, the U.S. would develop the best freestyle wrestlers in the world.

  39. Burroughs has always felt like a guy who was blessed with great talent, a highly competitive mind, but with too much hubris. I disliked his gold shoes way back. I am a PSU fan and I watched live what happened in Rec Hall and I was very disappointed in the PSU fans. But Burroughs must take some responsibility for his chippiness with Mesenbrink in front of a home crowd. In truth, I was surprised Burroughs didn't just shrug it off like some wrestlers would.
