I can’t think of anyone who is more tailor-made for the iowa spirit than caliendo. Dude has two moves, but looks like he has made a pact with himself that he won’t leave a match unless his forehead is bleeding. A forward-marching forehead atop a brick shit house.4 points

It is hard to know what you are talking about because there were so many times he beat Massa. I think my favorite was the time Massa figured out a way to give up 6 plints in rideouts. That has to be some kind of record.4 points

I wonder about coaching when guys wait until there are less than 30 seconds left before attacking. You know guys are going to stall and if you wait that long you let them get away with it.3 points

I collect nuts and bolts just in case I need them some time. Same with electrical wiring and doo dads. I wouldn't say I collect them rather I hoard them. That's probably a more fair summary. However I do have 2 guitar amps, 1 bass amp, 1 bass, 2 electric guitars (one is on the market), and 2 acoustic guitars. None are high dollar units. The 2 guitar amps are Marshall, Code 50 and Origin 20 head paired with a speaker cabinet I bought and upgraded. One electric guitar is an Epiphone Les Paul (very nice I must say) but not high dollar. I also have an impressive amount of tools, most of which get used. Table Saw, Mitre saw, a bunch of hand tools. In fact, when it was below 20F on Saturday I was in the shed cutting boards for my wife with the mitre saw. Fingers nearly froze off. It is tough to work when your fingers fall off. mspart3 points

I've heard the Apollo multiball is something else! I was able to play these pins on Friday night during down time for my daughter's wrestling tournament... I didn't feel a compelling need to buy any of them. Many people like Godzilla. Deadpool was okay. Rush was horrible like Led Zeppelin. The Big Lebowski game play was so so but the music and artwork were great. Godzilla Iron Maiden Foo Fighters Deadpool Monster Bash The Big Lebowski Rush Stranger Things The Mandalorian Guardians of the Galaxy High Speed Pinbot Elvis Star Trek These are the next pins I'd like to own: Metallica, Medieval Madness, Attack from Mars, Stranger Things, Addams Family, Iron Maiden, No Good Gofers. It is a good time to sell pins and not a good time to buy! Each of my pins have ~ doubled in value.3 points

A perfect world for Michigan would be DeAugustino win, Ragusin win, Gomez pin ( he can pin anyone), Lewan win (was an overtime match last year) and Amine win..that puts them at 18 points..that would be 5-5 split with 3 bonus. Can Kerk, Star, Brooks, Bartlett and Truax get at least 3 bonus? Highly doubtful this all happens on same night, but at least Michigan has a slight chance ..3 points

When I watch FRL I think Pyle does a fine job. He has things to say, points to make, and steers the conversation. Then I watch these clips they put out on Twitter of Pyle sitting in front of the window talking and I find it hard to believe he is the voice of Flo. They seem very poorly thought out, rarely make a strong point making me wonder why I took the time to watch, and the verbal ticks (um, uh, you know) drive me to distraction. It is as if he does not talk on camera for a living.3 points

I worry for my boy Matt Ramos with Ayala… in that I could see Ayala separating himself from the pack come post season. *this opinion is based on watching the last two Iowa duals.*2 points

Ayala wins 8-5 Tyler Wells beat Kale Peterson 6-3 Woods dec VomBaur 5-2. VomBaur showed some good stuff on bottom. Woods shot in mid 3rd period that lead to a long scramble where both guys had a shot to score. Woods moreso, imo Rathjen over Robers 7-3. Edit: Woods didn't seem all that interested in scoring during the 2nd period, ultimately leaving himself open for an upset late in the 3rd. He has done this quite a lot during his career, even before coming to Iowa (not being aggressive and keeping matches closer than they should be).2 points

Craft brewery stickers, inadvertently collecting wrestling t-shirts, but those are more rotated in and out. Hats. I have a small collection of vintage pennants from defunct minor league and rogue sports league teams from both Minnesota and Virginia. Still have my 25K baseball cards from the “worthless era” of collecting in the late 80s.2 points

If I were paying NIL to one of these guys, I think I would make them come to my mansion (because I would have one if I were paying NIL) and re-watch the high school matches they lost and then have them answer questions about it. I would also have them shovel snow today.2 points

Cam Amine beat Alex Marinelli, who beat Vincenzo Joseph, who beat Isaiah Martinez, who beat Jason Nolf, who beat Georgios Kougioumtsidis, who beat Kadimagomedov, who beat Kyle Dake, who beat Jordan Burroughs... Therefore Cam Amine USA GOAT.2 points

You kind of answered your own question. Baumgartner and Flynn were the reason for their success. After they left, Edinboro got a dose of reality. The reality is that they’re a small state school with bad winters and not a lot to offer a blue chip recruit. With the emergence of Penn State, a lot of top PA talent is going there, plus the “shrinking” of our country (due to ease of travel and long distance communication) makes it easier for recruits to go anywhere in the country. Sadly, it makes it hard for all these small PA schools to be successful. With good coaching, one or two of these programs should be able to do pretty well (like and Edinboro did and Lock Haven seems to be doing ok now), but I doubt we will ever see the days again when Lock Haven, Bloomsburg, Clarion, etc. all have great teams.2 points

All worthy candidates but I vote Snyder for dropping his redshirt to beat a guy on an 80+ match winning streak who was 50 pounds heavier in a classic overtime match at Madison Square Garden to cap off a night of great matches.2 points

This is not meant as a troll or a whine post, it comes from a place of concern for the program. What happened to Edinboro, and what caused them to go from powerhouse to doormat program? Teams don’t hang out at this level for too long without second shoes dropping, especially when budgets are tight. I know there was a re-org and edinboro got folded into a larger amalgamated university, I know they had Tim Flynn and Lou Rosselli for a while, both stellar coaches. I know bruce baumgartner is in the organization, he left the AD role in 2018. Why do they struggle so much now?1 point

Good writeup, but kinda disagree with your conclusions here. 125 is a mess because everybody has been taking losses. Davis has not yet, although he really only has one win over a top 10ish guy in Kaylor. Beating DeAugustino would give him another one and IMO put him squarely in the national title conversation, which he may have somewhat been already due to the parity but I think many are hesitant to do yet. On the flip side, both Nagao and Ragusin are proven commodities, no result would really surprise me. Ragusin has plenty of big wins in his career, just hasn’t been able to put it all together to AA yet.1 point

He's a punk and stalled his ass off to a win against ThugMassa G at least once, then tried saying ThugMassa G was stalling. Sta(l)rocci until he can at least not be a punk. I can get over him stalling then, but he is still a punk. Re-watch that NWCA ASC match against Lewis if you need a reference as to why he is a punk.1 point

Correct, Kasak had 3:19 RT going into the 3rd thus RT was locked up. Has long as he didnt get turned or give up any penalty/stalling points he was going to get the tech.1 point

I think it still makes sense to choose down unless you're bad on bottom or the other guy is good on top. End of 1 you're up 3-1. You choose neutral and no scoring, 3-1. Other guy escapes, takes you down, you escape, lose 5-4. Should've chose bottom.1 point
