  1. McKee chooses down to start the 2nd: McKee gets an escape, takes him down straight to his back... pin for McKee.

  2. They gave the allowance that season- maybe in January(?), but I believe they gave it as an allowance rather than as a new weight. The next year they changed the weight classes in the rule book.

  3. Great night for the PSU guys! All dominant against top tier opponents. Aaron Brooks is THE best folkstyle wrestler in college.

  7. I'm always nervous. Gregory is very good. However, don't forget that Anthony was clearly injured the last time they wrestled. (Which is the same excuse we heard about Young Greg's losses in the past) It is definitely nice to have some big boys who wrestle in all positions. We have several guys ATM who may have been multiple time champs in other eras.

  9. It was a medical. Prior to this year, you wrestled attached, the traditional redshirt was done. He was attached. If you get a medical, your results, as I have always understood it, count attached. Pretty sure Burroughs record at Nebraska includes his medical RS where he got hurt. They even cite his loss to Steve Brown that year snapping his win streak. The sport lacks uniformity in record keeping too, something I’ve been desperately trying to rectify. It’s a very slow process though.

  11. Cass, Kerk, Parris, and (unfortunately because he is as boring as greco) Schultz would rightfully be multi-time champs in most any era. We have been fortunate to see 285 take huge leaps domestically starting with Tommy Rowland (despite not beating Mocco when it mattered the most-most). Very enlightening to see the transcendence of the weight class.

  17. Monday already wrestling down at 157 kind of cheapens this match for me. I already considered Carr a considerable favorite. Now he has eight functional pounds on him? Seems to be easy money for Carr. I am okay being wrong, though.

  29. Lewan - Andonian next. A complete clash of styles here. A 3-1, 3-2 kind of win for Lewan or a 10-6 kind of Andonian win right?

  33. Don't do Twitter. I don't think it is good. Regarding Lightfoot, I think it was a figurative call to arms, rather than a call to use guns. She doesn't believe in guns being the mayor of Chicago and such. mspart

  34. It's clearly a figurative "call to arms". Liberals don't own guns, haha. No shit. Twitter sucks.

  41. False. If you're referring to Twitter bans, people were ONLY banned because of violations of a PRIVATE COMPANY'S ( key overlooked pernt) misinformation policy. In short, if you continued to selll B.S., you got banned and you knew the rules beforehand.

  42. It's amazing the about face of the Democratic party. The same party that championed the rights of everyone, even the most vile among us to have their opinion and share it freely, now with equal fervor wants to hear nothing from the other side of the isle. Dissent is now their enemy. We know what's best for your children, we know what's best for your health, we know how to run your finances. If you don't like it, your opinion is not wanted. That is the message I get, even just from people on this small message board. I don't even think they realize it.

  45. everyone complaining about twitter is out of their minds. it's lunacy. numerous people that quit (that had no outward facing roles) have issued 'statements'. lol. twitter never figured out how to turn a profit and were busting at the seams in salaries. way over staffed. idk if elon will figure out how get into the black with it, but changes certainly had to be made. as far as the 'free speech' thing....gimme a break. the left wants censorship to reduce pushback on their narrative. end of story.

  46. This happens more than you probably think. A coach usually will go with the wrestler that gives the team the best shot at winning. That doesn’t always equate to who wins in your room. I know it sounds odd but when you wrestle guys for hours a day, every day, you get very familiar with each other and matches can become very tight. Wrestlers evolve and learn to shut down each other’s move and the game continues each evolving learning to overcome counters to counters and so on. Not to mention some guys just got your number and sometimes they are in the same room but overall maybe the style, competitiveness, gas tank, etc… of the guy who loses in wrestle offs will translate into more wins in regular competition. Doesn’t me this is right, wrong, or anything else, just that it is and should be the coaches decision of what is best.
