Iowa has Deluca

I don’t think David Taylor is gonna bring in Knox with all the baggage he’s trying to change the culture

I think Iowa state makes sense but Knox might not want to go half way across the country

Taylor will take anyone who can increase the point total at NCAAs.

Is that why he released Jordan Williams? Please fill me in on one anecdote of DT sacrificing character for performance.

He got released after his 2nd arrest. His first one was totally ignored.

Why would he want to stick around a program in which he has only Vito, Yianni, and Shapiro to roll around with every day, a young team, and a killer recruiting class coming in (well, not quite as killer as of a couple of days ago)?  Bunch of losers.

David Taylor was not there for the first.

Both Mark Manning and Rob Koll were willing to bring in AJ Ferrari, Cael didn't kick out Braeden Davis and brought in Andrew Long back in the day, Pendleton brought in Renteria who had problems while at Illinois.

So what's your point?

Hearing that Knox is leaving because he wasn't going to be admitted to Cornell.

Even through the ag school side entrance? People saying he's shopping around for the best NIL deal may be right, since he wouldn't be getting any money at Cornell, but tuition and an Ivy degree is a great deal. That's assuming Cornell was giving him a full academic scholarship or aid.

Based on the house they showed in the Flo vids with him, he better not have been getting any “need-based” aid

There is an interview with Rocky after he transferred.  Can’t remember who with, might have been Flo, not sure.  Anyway he said it will be nice graduating with that amount of money in his bank account.  Also, said he wanted to come back after for a position with the Tigers.  Still heart broke about that one.

Wrestej, thanks for sharing that.  I figured it could be a combination of things, including money.  I also thought maybe he felt he had a better chance of reaching his goals/potential at somewhere other than MU.  Got to think that Rocky is going to have better workout partners at Iowa State.  I'll even give the edge in coaching to Dresser, and ISU assts.  No doubt, there is more fire in that room.  It drives me crazy when I go to a Tiger home dual and the coaches and staff rarely seem to get animated on the side.

It kills me to see Rocky in a IS uniform.  This is the first I heard about him wanting to go back and get on staff.  He can have Dom Bradley's position as far as I'm concerned.  Dom's low scoring, hold position, no risk, win or lose by 1, won't succeed with today's big athlete heavys that wrestle like middle weights.  MU has a good frosh talent HWT in the room in Sampson Stillwell.  Personally, I'd be ecstatic having Rocky working with Sampson, should he come back.  MU could use a good lightweight coach also.

I don’t want to jump all over this thread but the video is in the web universe sure it could be found without too much work.

Since this is a Knox topic, I would like to invite him to check out Mizzou.

How does my joy for Joy warrant any response resembling what you wrote. Strange and quite soft...

Adding on to this, that house is in a rather expensive town (Monmouth Beach) on the Jersey Shore.  Of course, Cornell and the Ivy League don't do athletic or academic scholarships:  it's all need-based.

We know nothing about the Knox family's finances.  They could be "thousand dollar millionaires," looking like they're worth a million bucks but can't cash a thousand dollar check.  Or their actual income is not so great any more.

Or maybe Sr is in the mob and Uncle Sam doesn’t know about his income?

Dammit BRF! Apologies...✌️

This is an apology-free zone.

(although you might imagine that Cornell wrestling fans (all three of us) are a bit twitchy today!)

Thanks for the kind/tactful reminder about staying on topic.  I do tend to wander.

Seems like he's kind of just looking for a bigger, better bag, possibly with some admissions issues as well.  More power to him.  I'd guess he ends up in the B1G somewhere.

Unless it is true that he didn’t get accepted (rumors suggesting he isn’t all that good in school), this looks like crap.

Plenty of apologists will say there is no reason to associate making a commitment, and keeping a commitment, with having good character.  BS.

Yes, sometimes things change.  Sometimes change must happen.  It’s true.  Would love to hear the reasons to back out of the commitment though.  Is a bad look.  He owes nothing to me, nor does my opinion of him owe anything to him.

Knox didn't commit the crime while he was a college athlete. My point is quite obvious if you aren't a moron. His criminal record wouldn't stop Taylor from recruiting him which was my point. Please try to keep up you drooler.
