Willie was pretty dismissive of Ryder on the Basch pod.  "He's not a lock to AA". Type of shit,  It sounded like a Pyles take. He'll be right in the mix,  he was Staroccis main training partner.  I'm curious about the matchup with Welch since they were both KD products.

Not to mention based on videos I have seen, he wrestles A LOT with Zahid.

They could have shaved almost an hour off this event if they didn't have these long breaks between matches.

But then less beer and popcorn dont ya think?

It's a production. I'm not sure but they may have things going on in between matches in arena, and time in between matches also gives those in attendance to hit concessions/use the bathroom/etc. It's drawn out, but I'm not here to complain about an awesome event. IMO the NCAA finals are a much more brutal watch than this has been.

It probably just seemed longer cuz I tuned in at 5 pm CT, not knowing about the pregame show.

Oh, that is completely fair. I didn't tune in until the men's D1 matches started. So it was just under 3 hours.

I dont care how you rationalize. I think ryder was done wrong. But maybe that's why cael is the best. I would have past and stayed with ryder. But it is the smart play what cael did.

Still hope Ryder sticks it to them .and he does have Taylor and Zahid in room.?

JMHO.

If you believe the public story, it goes like this:

Tom Ryan forces Welsh to redshirt against his wishes.

Welsh definitely does not start shopping his services, including a definitely-not-a-recruiting-visit to OkSt which makes its way to the public.

Welsh doubles down that he is staying at tOSU.

Pretty much as soon as the season ends, Welsh transfers on his own with zero influence to PSU.

Ryder thinks it over for a couple days and transfers to OkSt to the coach who coached him his senior year of high school.

So in summary: Welsh acted autonomously, Ryder said "pass," and Carl & Co. had nothing to do with it.

i am an idiot on the internet

Enjoyed the event! I need help in my argument that girls wrestling is the fastest growing sport in the U.S. as Burroughs stated it in the broadcast. I repeated it and got into an assertive discussion. His counter argument is that its not event the fastest growing girls sport in High School. Just want some data by smarter people than me, so I don't have to concede to this high school girls flag football father. If I am wrong than I'll take it and try harder to grow women's wrestling with my daughter. Thanks!

Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the US the last four years.

Don't cite a pickleball website as a source.

It is obviously going yo say it's the fastest growing sport if it is close to being the fastest.

Guys of Welsh’s caliber just don’t “show up” places without involvement from the head coach. You think Welsh isn’t getting a dime in scholarship/NIL money?

All in all a very good event, a fantastic way to start the college season. Being in the eastern time zone, I would prefer they start at 6 instead of 7 as being done at 11pm or whatever was a little too late for me.

But I can go to bed a little late for something like this, would prefer they keep the format with all the womens and D2 vs D3 match as well. Those are all fun and gets us die hard college folkstylers more exposed to those atheletes. Good job all around.

Pickleball is the fastest growing hobby. But, sport? Come on. Your first link is from AARP. That tells you everything you need to know. If you click on the link you are likely to find out that knitting is the second fastest growing.
