Gantry

Russian played it perfectly, saved energy and wanted to steal it late. He learned from last year, kudos to him.

Unbelievable run Spencer, he earned it tenfold.

Straight up heart of a champion with Kyle Synder, he got outwrestled all match but found a way to win late. Dug deep and got the points he needed, absolutely incredible effort.

UWW site has Kadiev beating him in the Euro final 2-1.

To me he was noticeably bigger than his opponent, who apparently wrestled u23 Asians a couple years ago at 61kg. Hard to say if he gassed though to be honest, he wasn't very active overall.

Maybe his opponent was short, but LL looked real big and lean - I wonder if his days at 57kg and 125 are numbered.

Kyle Conel pinning Kollin Moore

Yep, I feel like they are giving their userbase over to matsavant, who in turn will likely step up their game given all the recent interest and traffic. The timing just seems odd here given they finally have a "competitor", but likely it wasn't based on that. I'm guessing it was more of a "ok, we can't keep doing this for free anymore" and not some long term financial windfall business plan. At the end of the day they are wrestling junkies with a tech background who made a wonderful thing, I hope they find success. The market has spoken and it agrees with you 100%, I'll pay for WS if matsavant is lacking, like you I didn't even know about it so I haven't had to the time to suss it out yet. But I know I'm an anomaly and most won't.

A week ago I would have agreed with you, but did you check out the matsavant.com site linked earlier in this thread? If they didn't exist I can see WS making this play now. But that site does a lot of the same things, with a drastically better ui, for free. It may not have everything, but it's "close enough" given the cost of 0 dollars. I love WS, have donated to WS and even started threads here reminding people to donate to WS because what they were doing was unsustainable for free. But wrestling fans have proven time and time again that they only pay for video, so I see the bulk of people moving to matsavant as long as they are free.

Well seems like IaW heard something similar to maybe there's some truth to it.

Maybe my google fu is failing me but I'm not seeing any info about Vinateri having state level success at wrestling. Only a blurb that he wrestled in high school. Anyone know more details about it?

Legit lol, thank you

This is an excellent point that I didn't consider, domination is important but PFP has to weigh heavily on the caliber of opponents. Barr did his job but that was an incredibly weak 197 field last year. Is the best win of Barr's folkstyle career Jacob Cardenas?

Johnny Thompson snake/cowcatcher has to be up here as well.

Darmstadt (sp) as well, they knew it was coming and couldn't stop it.

I'm pretty sure Vega did not give up a TD all season. True freshman national champ who was never taken down and beat a 2x champ to win his title. Have either of those ever been done before by a true freshman?

Absolute bulldog, I love it. He broke everyone he wrestled, people can't keep up. I sure hope we don't see him at 197 in college

*Slight* height difference between Boyle and this Russian.

Agreed, as soon as he won the challenge he stopped wrestling - there were 90 seconds left in the match. Do what got you that lead throughout the match, don't wrestle not to lose - especially for that long. That said great match and that was a really tough opponent, should hang his head high. He'll learn from it...

I sure hope he gives it a whirl.

Ross does not wrestle like a HWT, so smooth.

I disagree, Japan didn't expose and Burton went to his back. Where are the points for Burton there at the end?

I mean this was Track, then everyone (myself included) complained that it was made by a couple of computer science majors for a box of Pop Tarts with seeming no thought for UI. It's a tale as old as time itself - people get fed up with the current bracket options and use their own for their tournament. What happens? People ALWAYS hate them. I hope you create another one, but it's been tried over and over again. All that said, I mostly agree with you. But it ain't that easy. Obligatory xkcd attached:

We had Tokyo tix and went to Paris, but this one sure does feel like we've had no chance at actually getting tickets throughout this process.

Think I've had three drops and during each one no wrestling tix for any session were available. Checked the next day just to be safe. Same for my buddy, doesn't seem like it's in the cards for us this time.
