I could give it a go at 65 KG, probably with a proper two year camp.  Would be 74 KG right now, though.  I don't think I am beating Jacques, let alone competing.

Is a spot at the Olympic trials on offer at Bill Farrell?

Potentially:

2023 Bill Farrell International Open (November, 2023)

The highest placed Senior Freestyle USA athlete per weight category, that places in the top 4, who has yet to qualify, will earn a spot in the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials - Wrestling.

Of note, I don't believe there are any restrictions to entry.  Meaning at HWT we could see Parris, Gwiazdowski, Zillmer, and Steveson enter and all place top 4, essentially stealing a spot.

I don't think they will.  I hope we see Parris, though.  Maybe a Gwiazdowski as well.

I was wondering if there were any weights where guys could get boxed out.

It'd be a shootout between you and Jacques

I am old, man.  Old and would be up three Freestyle or four Folkstyle weights from my competitive days.

  • 2 weeks later...
  • 1 month later...

Some of these weights are heating up.

86 KG has Labriola, Dieringer, Lujan, Hidlay, Coleman, Webster, and Mirasola for starters.

65 KG has DeSanto, Lugo, Yahya, McGee, Parker, Kolodzik for starters and then some.

Penn State and Michigan haven't entered yet.

I am very excited to see what Warner looks like. Hopefully he has a better gas tank without the brutal cut down to 197. The bracket is Mike Mach’s to lose but 97 will be fun.

86 also looks very good and a preview of senior nats + OTT. Glad to see strong participation.

I am hoping we see the Amine brothers, the Amine cousin, hell... the entire fckn lineup of D1 starters the last eight years.

ThugMassa G anyone?  Yes!  Please!

Imagine Abounader, Amine and Massa all throwing in their hats at 86 KG for gits and shiggles.
