Important to remember that ALL of the information is coming from the Brooks camp, not the testing agencies who are limited by their rules and regulations. Early headlines can control how stuff is received and there will be a cohort of people who never check in on the story again and, no matter what comes out later, will default to their memory of the initial headlines.3 points

No... 1. No, it was not "passed along" to police. Beau reported it to police directly. Cael did not encourage him to report it. "While Sanderson stated the program would support whatever decision Bartlett made to investigate the incident, Beau said it felt to him more like a public relations comment than real care." 2. Cael directly witnessed Carter assaulting teammates and did nothing. "Beau, Oliver and another teammate all told the Collegian that Starocci continued to touch other wrestlers inappropriately in the training room, sometimes in front of Sanderson. They also reported knowledge of rumors of Starocci’s sexual misconduct and inappropriate interactions with minors." 3. The photos were reported to Cael. "Beau said the photos were reported to Sanderson along with the theft, but nothing came of it from the coach." 4. The teammates reported the sexual misconduct as well. See #22 points

I spent one week at the Olympic Training Center over 25 years ago. It was made very very clear to me in that one week that athletes are not to put ANYTHING in their body without making sure that it didn't have a banned substance. I also spent a weekend with the staff of PSU many years ago. PSU athletic department said the same thing. He has heard this more times than Nelson Brands heard "don't gamble on college sports." It isn't a secret in his world whatsoever. If this was an honest mistake caused by an OTC medicine, he is one of the dumbest people out there. It would also be his second bout of stupidity regarding USADA regulations. He deserves whatever is coming to him.2 points

Do you think its a wrestling-specific problem? Or a problem that exists in power dynamics everywhere. It's a genuine question.2 points

Only 7 wrestlers have 4 wins against top 8 seeded wrestlers in a single tournament from an unseeded position or the bottom half of the bracket. Who is the last to do it?1 point
-
I wouldn't compare JTTS to either. He was a hofstra fan who knew the sport and teetered on the line between clever and snarky with every post.1 point

I say forgive him then. I once took what I thought was storoids, but it turned out it was full blown steroids. Crazy. I was so close to making the Olympic team. I know they said I have to be careful what I put in my body. My lawyer said it was an honest mistake and you know….. My coach is super humble awesome and a legend. He was also a world renowned Buddhist. Don’t know why that matters but it does. I was so mad when they didn’t believe me.1 point

Look at all the people making excuses for a guy who tested positive twice in less than a year...1 point

Zero similarity imo. Dupont was just a rich guy because he inherited all of it. Absolutely horrid wrestler that couldn't beat the average guy on the street and mentally ill. Jake Paul? 100% self made w almost zero evidence he paid anybody off and I can 100% guarantee that he would ko every single person on this forum with ease. There are levels to this. He's probablynot a top 10 fighter in world but he is a tough and athletic guy that has worked hard and had excellent trainers for past several years.1 point

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. Though I just had pork chops stuffed with prosciutto and fontina. And that was a winner. Now, the other two are gonna be tough.1 point

If someone steals your car, and you think your former neighbor did it since he did something really nasty to you lately, do you mention that to the police? Or just stay quiet, giving the police nothing to work with in their investigation?1 point

America by design does not have a systemic cheating scandal. Capitalism literally prevents from a state-led doling system. Capitalism promotes individual accomplishment and privatization, and these ideologies carry through at the athletics level as well. Rather than seek out USA-led doping, Lance Armstrong will find a small elite team to blood dope; Marion Jones and Barry Bonds will find a private lab for the Cream and the Clear; David Tay... uhh, "random dudes" will seek out Treigning Lab - these are just major examples everyone would be aware of. Daton Fix will buy from Chemyo and Aaron Brooks will mask from Wegman's because DHEA is obviously how you overcome pneumonia (my doctor is a plebe and only gave me albuterol and 5 days of doxycicline and prednisolone). The point is in America there is no "central" *doping system. It's is up to the individual to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and find the juice on their own.1 point

Endless hookers and blow can cost a pretty penny. besides. It isn’t weird at all to say these psu nlwc wrestlers flew off the handle because of lack of supervision and or coaching? 9th year seniors competing for world and Olympic medals totally need supervision.1 point

Anyone who believes this was an honest mistake is one of the dumbest people out there. Same thing for the Fix situation.1 point

The "one"? You think there's just one person on this board who feels that way? But no, I'm not one of those people. Steroids are compounds which are far too powerful to just flip that switch wholesale. Young kids get themselves into way too much trouble at an early age even in the face of societal pressure against drug use. I am the one, however, who thinks that better access to dispassionate discussion of what these compounds do would be a good thing.1 point

Really? You'd know how to go about getting a 3rd party arbiter and the medical experts necessary? Because in this case MOST people would need the Hopsital to help facilitate that or a lawyer, but sure, only a moron wouldn't know how to deal with the health insurance company denying without knowing why. But fine. Any moron would know. Then WTF is your point with this stupid slack jawed "err....they deny legitimate claims all the time," after that's been...abundantly clear and mentioned several times in this thread? I'm not sensitive, I'm tired of stupid posts. Go fight the power Luigi, I don't care. I'm asking why in THIS case they'd deny it as you can call them a lot of things, they're not stupid and they KNOW there is going to be massive backlash if they deny a lung transplant to an Olympian for an illigitimate reason. It also seems to be upsetting everyone BUT Amy and the actual people involved, so maybe in your infinite wisdom on the insurance process you could explain why they denied and how exactly that worked?1 point
