  1. every missed test was after he retired (the OLY Trials) so who gives a rip? he was tested plenty, and never popped, during his medal run.

  3. I like Gilman and I'm inclined to chalk this up to DGAF, but don't forget, he was scheduled to go to the May 11, 2024 Olympic qualifying tournament as a back-up for Lee in case he got hurt just beforehand. That would've been after the 4/28/24 missed "whereabouts." He talks in this video here about how he pissed off Cody by basically telling him at the last minute that he wasn't going, when Cody was already overseas with Zain. His explanation why is pretty murky, and it sounds like he was apologetic to Cody about it later. Is that sequence of events consistent with Gllman not giving a F after trials and just checking out mentally? Yeah. Is it also consistent with him smoking some weed or whatever after trials, then having an "Oh crap" moment when he realized he still needed to show up as a backup in May in case Lee screws up his knee again, so he suddenly decided to make himself scarce rather than endure the embarrassment of a flunked drug test? Yeah. Do I care? No, not really, though either way, I'm sure a lot of us would've cared had Lee tweaked his knee just before that qualifier.

  7. is there any indication that there are policy ties from trump to the investors? like there was with Hunter and China or Hunter and Ukraine before y'all voted for Joe? like the stuff Hunter had to be pardoned for?

  8. No way this is true. He has already done so much HGH that his skull was so overgrown it was literally exploding through headgear every match his last two college seasons. Made Barry Bonds look like a nugget! Does anyone know if there is anything in the Bible about PEDs? I know that tattoos aren't allowed but the Ram Of The East has his own interpretation on that.

  9. Doesn't seem to be that big of a deal honestly and I say that as someone far from being a PSU/NLWC fan and definitely not a Gilman fan. All 3 of these incidents occured after OLY trials during which time Gilman admitted to having a really $hitty attitude so he probably didn't give 2 turkeys about whereabouts requirements. However, he has also during this time made multiple vague and confusing comments about not being retired so at the very least this was yet another display of poor foresight, judgement, and just plain ole negligence. I don't think this incident should be tracked back to NLWC. This is all Gilman. He is a strange character. All 3 (brief) in person interactions that I had the displeasure of having with him were very uncomfortable. He does weird stuff

  11. The US continues to have the most restrictive (read dumbest) enhancement testing policy globally. US athletes have to pretend to do double the trouble because US olympic trials are major commercial events, and the desire to maintain sponsorship rates runs things. But again, facade, bc they don’t want slower times or achievements than the 80’s when athletes were the most beautiful fusion of chemistry, determination, and insanity. Keep sponsors happy and have a happy career, just be sure to actively hide how the sausage is made, bc reality doesn’t sell product, but whatever nonsense Jim Nantz will be told to tell the world about you does. ”The american dream, brought to you by Nike/Pepsi/Chase Financial.”

  16. I don't really see how anyone can defend PSU not going. They are de facto #1. For what will become the #2 premier event to be at in the college year to not have the top dog is head scratching. Hope they go next year to take the spot from OSU or Iowa

  21. It’s a little strange. If you know you’re going to get a suspension if you don’t comply, why not just tell them you’re retired? If you aren’t retired now you’re screwed anyway.

  23. You think Cael is adverse to doing things good for the sport? That THAT is in and of itself the reason? I just don't think it aligns with his larger plans on peaking in March, but...I also just think that's a weak reason. And he doesn't think it matters.

  25. I agree that this probably a big nothing burger because Gilman was in dgaf mode. And he's a weird cat cut straight from the TnT cloth so that doesn't help in the court of public opinion, but myeh he's crazy enough I would actually believe him.

  26. It's really just a weird move to not show up to this if you're PSU. Make a million dollars and you get some good early competition and... I don't know, it's just good for the sport. I really don't get why you'd NOT want to do this. But, this should be cool. Okie State vs Iowa...and then I'll take Ohio State. Iowa vs Ohio State Final this year...I think.

  36. Part of Trump's strategy is to deal in a high volume of lies to keep everyone chasing their tails while he is on to the next set of lies. Did he every get the cat and dog crisis in Ohio taken care of? He must have since he doesn't bring it up anymore.

  38. not really predictions but just looking at possibilities at each weight I feel really good about where the US is at in what I would call a transition year. 57- Lee / Lilledahl - two of our greatest age level wrestlers ever and spencer is an olympic silver, but I think either of these guys would medal. 61- Vito / Forrest - Obviously vito as his best is the man, but if he is off and Forrest wins I think Forrest could medal. 65- McKenna / Woods - McKenna is a journeyman with some good wins under his belt. Woods wrestling well right now. One of our biggest ?s 70- Yianni / Duke - Yianni is obviously great and has been in world finals. I am super high on Duke. 74- MM / Carr - I dont see any way Mesenbrink isn't the guy. If guys don't lace him up he is gonna give senior level dudes fits. But even if Carr wins he has a U20 gold. 79 - Wick / Haines - Wick I don't know anything about internationally. Haines didn't medal at cadet worlds. I have confidence in them but ? 86- Valencia / Dake - Valencia is a world medalist and Dake is an all time great. we are good either way. 92- Hidlay / Barr - Hidlay and Barr both have age level medals. 97- Snyder / Zilmer - If Snyder wrestles, obvious favorite. Don't have a big sample of Zilmer at 97. 125- Hendrickson / Hillger - Hendrickson has U23 medal.

  39. On occasion. I typically stick with the IOC preferences - I never say North Korea, for example. I may drop a Nippon in a celebratory call, but medals podiums and mat calls/win calls are all by the book. Turkiye, Czechia, Côte d'Ivoire ... Germany.

  42. Carr was the youngest Olympian in U.S. wrestling history, competing at the 1972 Summer Olympics while still in high school as a 17-year-old. He also competed at the 1971 World Wrestling Championships at 52 kg (114.5 pounds) as a 16-year-old.
