1978 Princeton Relays (track & field). Opening height of 6'6" (my then-PR, IIRC), I cleared it, and no higher. Franklin Jacobs, then-world indoor record holder, started at 6'10" without any warmup jumps. First attempt: miss. Second attempt: miss. (me: I might beat the world record holder!). Third attempt: cleared it by about a foot. Oh, well.6 points

The weight question is fun, so here's another for the commentariat: who was the best guy to ever beat you. Years and weights would be cool. Scores, too . . . and all poetic lincense will be forgiven. I'll start: edit (I first posted about about a little League match, but I'll offer one that I have a better memory of) In 1995 at 142, Mike Krafchik must have hit 7low singles on me. Every time I tried to close the gap, he just disappeared and dumped me right on my butt. Teched me. I think I rode him for 30 seconds though. Yay me! To add insult to injury, I think he's a doctor ... So not only could he whip my ass, I assume his house is bigger than mine.4 points

Cary Kolat 4 times. 2x in Jr. High a major and regular decision. 1x at a summer tournament in high school a decision. 1x in freestyle by tech fall. All losses of coarse.4 points

Not a live match but scrapped a few minutes (maybe just one minute) with Mark Perry in junior high and he tied me in a knot real fast. I was JV quality for sure but beat everyone in the room at my weight until the high school squad showed up.4 points

Alot of wrestlers on this board, curious what weights everybody wrestled in Highschool or College. I started in 8th grade 1996. Couldn't beat the guy at 158 so they bumped up two weights to Heavy (215). Strength was my strength. I had to make 159 to jump the 167 weight class. No weight cut was so nice.. In Highschool I wrestled at 160, 189, 171. Did not wrestle senior year due to needing a job to pay for my 1994 Pontiac Firebird. V6 baby!! How about you guys? Let's hear it!3 points

I was light for the weight(+ I didn't feel like cutting down to 115) Blair Academy 74-75 PG... try to make the cut to 115 but it was a no-go. Wrestled 2 bouts at 129 & went 1-1. Did some club wrestling in the early 80'sin the summer while helping coaching the Morristown youth team during the winter seasons (Twin Town Tigers) "Retired" at 28. D33 points

I don't have anyone but my kid has been beaten by Zach Elam, Rocky Elam, Colton Hawks, DJ Shannon, and Jack Flynn. Just off the top of my head. Lol. He was at a tough weight. He weighed 170lb-180lb all thru high school but we had no one at the heavier weights. So he wrestled 195lb and 220lb. Character building for sure.3 points

All that have programs and provide a platform to compete are loyal. Only schools that dropped programs have been disloyal. If you are a wrestler that expects more than a chance to compete you are an entitled, whining butt-hurt tiny ass.3 points

Two best to ever beat me I wrestled same day, freestyle tournament ‘83 or ‘84. 1) Steve Martin who ended up being an AA at Iowa. Beat me 12-0. Like he was drilling, relatively painless but still humiliating. 2) Joe Stukes who ended up being 3x top 4 in D2. Beat me 14-1 (who the hell knows how I got 1). Worst physical beat down I ever suffered.2 points

As well as the walkons that aren't going to change schools because of wrestling but still wanted to be involved in the sport .I was an invited walkon at a D1 school, never started a match but provided a good workout partner probably could have competed at a lower level but I wasn't going to leave the school I wanted to be at for academics if they had done this while I was in school2 points

Started at 58 lbs in the 3rd grade -- my team at the time already had two future state champs and another kid who became NCAA champ. After that I had matches at all of the weight going up and even a few in H.S. at unlimited, although I also was wrestling at 185.2 points

HS: 112-112-160-135*. I was injured junior year and wrestled one match on JV at 160. Didn't wrestle senior year because of an eligibility issue but would have gone 135 most likely. Post HS: 141, 132, 184.2 points

Please show me where I criticized anything....I'll wait.... And I didn't say it was a gotcha moment, I ask if it was and if that is why he posted the video because I don't understand how it is a gotcha moment, if it is one. If you had so much interest in what I was posting that you came on here multiple times and commented, I'd assume you actually would have read what I wrote...clearly you haven't.2 points
