I think I'll draw big conclusions now. I don't get why everyone should wait until after the fact to draw conclusions. We aren't a bunch of analysts going over past data. We are message board fans commenting on what's happening right now. This would be a really boring place if we all just waited until after the season to have any conclusions.5 points

I foresee David Taylor succeeding in having his wrestlers ready for March much in the way that Cael does. Hamiti looked so great in the tech fall against the #4 guy from Virginia Tech at the weight class. If he continues rolling, things will be extremely interesting in March. If he's rolling, he could take out both of these guys.2 points

I think we will find that if this case is not dismissed by Judge Merchan, then a appellate court in NY will throw it out for speciousness. Which is what we have been saying all along. You can't have a felony conviction if you don't even have an indictment of specific charges. The specific charges in the indictment that Bragg brought was "other crimes". I have detailed this a number of times. Can you be a little more specific Bragg? Even the judge at the end in the instructions to the jury said you can find he is guilty of 3 different crimes. You don't have to be unanimous on the specific crime, just be unanimous that he is guilty of something and that is good enough. You just don't have this in a felony case or any other case for that matter unless the defendant is Donald Trump. In fact the case where he was found liable for sexual misconduct, the lady couldn't even remember when the alleged misconduct took place. But in Trump's case, that is enough to have a court case and find him liable. That one will also be thrown out I believe. And then there is the no crime case that was brought against Trump and he now owes 450 million dollars to NY. No one was harmed, everyone was paid what was owed, and there was not victim. But none of that matters as long as the defendant is Donald Trump. I have to say if they went after Biden like this I would laugh but know that it was a farce. You guys on the left can't even go there. Blinders on. Rational thought eviscerated. Mindless sheep. It is a sad state to be in for sure mspart2 points

They wrestled at the All-Star a 2 or 3 years ago. Keegan really controlled the entire match IIRC. But that match was years ago, so I completely agree he could make things interesting.2 points

I could absolutely be wrong, but I have been a fan of Ok St for a long time, and John Smith is one of my favorite wrestlers and guys to listen to talk about wrestling of all time. But I haven't seen this kind of a pace and pursuit of scores across the roster in the last ten+ years. They have had better teams, but even then they didn't pursue scores the way the guys seemed to tonight. That could be because it's a fresh room with a new coach, and that could be a temporary bump (we see bad NFL teams surge under interim coaches due to culture change). But the fun of fandom is speculation, and I don't think you could have hoped for a better first month and a half as an Okie St fan.2 points

I can’t tell if you’re being serious or not. Do you really not know that there are differences in center of mass, organs, bone density, neck musculature, etc. between men and women? They sit closer to the steering wheel/dashboard. They often have more bent legs. Physics can and will do very different things to a 6’ tall male and a 5’ woman. I forget who was in an interview recently but they said something about how they practice less at PSU than a lot of schools, and they all talk about how they just have fun wrestling. If you think DT is in there grinding these guys early and is going to burn them out by march, that would go against everything he learned from his mentor/coach.1 point

A rematch would be interesting because they both had major takeaways: 1) Fish needs to stop going to his own back and generally thinking more about risk management when he is wrestling 2) Hipolito needs more conditioning because he died about halfway through the third period1 point

It is wild that Pitt has ten ranked wrestlers in Flo this week, but they will do well to scratch out 1 AA with their highest ranked wrestler at 11. So who can make a run at Minnesota? I wondered the same thing. I think it could be a case of once that levee breaks between two schools, and there is a major underlying cause (the loss of RTC and less promising financial situation of ASU), the original transfers become a link to refer and help convince their former teammates to join them. That's my guess, but no clue. Another outside theory is that they identified wrestlers that insist on being taller than their head coach.1 point

IIRC Surber did take a few committed shots, but he never really go close to locking around a leg. I don't remember thinking that he should get hit, but I could be wrong if I rewatched the match. Regardless, Smith looked like the better wrestler in that match.1 point

After tonight's dominating win over VT it looks like the Coach Taylor message is having an impact. In the past have we seen OSU come out in a dual like this and look sluggish, tired, and guys looking complacent to just get out of the building with a win. From 125-285 every single guy went out and wrestled hard. Guys were pushing for majors and techs with short time in the third period rather than being satisfied with their lead. Even Amine scored a takedown in the third and was pushing for another in short time. It looks like an OSU team that is wrestling with a different mindset than they have years. Ok St fans must be excited. If they get used to wrestling with this kind of mindset, they will be some very tough outs come march.1 point

Hendrickson went to OSO because of Taylor. He was considering it, but Taylor's first call to an athlete was to Hendrickson. I forget which of the other three (Fish/Amine/Hamiti) but one of them cited Taylor as well. So half were going there already - the other half weren't.1 point

Selection criteria and seeding criteria: Head-to-head competition: 25% Quality wins: 20% Coaches ranking: 15% Results against common opponents: 10% RPI (Ratings Percentage Index): 10% Win Percentage: 10% Qualifying event placement: 10% With RPI, you benefit much more than you're hurt from wrestling a very high win percentage guy like Hendrickson (75% of RPI is opponents' results). But you're obviously hurt by the win percentage damage. In most cases, it makes sense to wrestle the big matches, though, because those quality wins matter so much (wins over guys who earned an allocation). Against a guy like Hendrickson where you'll almost certainly lose, it's about a wash. Against anyone even slightly beatable, you have to chase those quality wins.1 point

The Sheridan Invitational is set for Friday, December 20th beginning at 10AM. All action can be seen on FloWrestling. The list of teams includes Brown, Drexel, Franklin & Marshall, Indiana, Lehigh, Rutgers, and Virginia. Below is a quick breakdown of each weight 125: The highest ranked wrestler here is Lehigh’s Sheldon Seymour. Sitting at #15 nationally, we may see him square off with Indiana’s Jacob Moran. Moran (#22 in the rankings) has one loss on the season to Caleb Smith of Nebraska. Smith’s current ranking is #5, and Moran’s loss was by a single point. If these two end up wrestling, it will be a great opportunity for either wrestler to gain momentum into the new year. Indiana’s Blaine Frazier and F&M’s Jack Parker will be looking for quality wins as well. Below are the remaining entries. A new face at this weight is Brown’s Michael Joyce. His teammate, Hunter Adrian, has been an EIWA place winner in the past. He was an NCAA qualifier for the Bears last season at 125lbs. It appears Brown has some options at this weight class. Expect to see guys like Hildebrandt of Drexel, Kyle Montaperto, and Logan Frazier of Indiana to be in the mix to win some matches. Indiana’s Henry Porter appears to be a favorite. Carter Bailey of Lehigh and Pat Phillips (unattached) of F&M will be in the hunt to win matches as well. Joe Fangaro of Rutgers is always in the mix too. Keep an eye on Kresho of F&M. He has been in a lot of close quality matches. Other than these two, the remainder of the entrants are looking for some matches to help excel them into the starting lineup for their respective teams. Both of Brown’s participants may be vying for the starting role in preparation for the upcoming dual meet part of the schedule. Virginia may have some answers after this event as both Shulaw and Weatherspoon have both wrestled in duals. Brown has not had a dual this season, but with two entrants here, it may help clarify who will have the edge for this weight class moving forward.
