Don't put too much stock in this as it only covers two 5-year periods (so call it weak evidence), but it occurred to me last night that we have a bit of a natural experiment. The 33 seed era is now 5 years old and the 16 seed era only lasted 5 years. So I thought I would take a look at what the expansion from 16 seeds to 33 seeds has meant. In theory, if seeding is accurate, then going from 16 to 33 would have different impacts on different ranges of seeds. Concentrating on the first round: In a 33 seed bracket the top 8 seeds face seeds 25 - 32 (or 33). In a 16 seed bracket the top 8 seeds may get anyone in the 17 - 33 range. So seeding all should be beneficial to the top 8. In a 33 seed bracket the 9 - 16 seeds face seeds 17 - 24. In a 16 seed bracket the 9 - 16 seeds may get anyone in the 17 - 33 range. So seeding all would be harmful to the 9 - 16 seeds. In a 33 seed bracket the bottom 16/17 seeds face the top 16 seeds. In a 16 seed bracket the bottom 17 seeds may get anyone in the 1 - 33 range (other than themselves). So seeding all would be harmful to the bottom 17. And that is what the results show. The top 8 seeds have performed better in the 33 seed era, while the next 8 seeds have performed worse, and the bottom 17 have performed worse. So, good job seeding committee.

Matches that can go v-techs way 125 133 141 149 157 (I think this match is either 30 total points or one guy hits a big move and the other guy gets pinned or ends up chasing and shooting himself out of the match. I went with Fish by fall but I could just as easily see Hip by some form of bonus as well) 197 I predicted okie state by 33 but if v-tech had something like a 10–12-point lead at the intermission I would not be totally shocked.

That was a lot of fun. Hipolito has to be such a strange and unconventional feel. It will be a lot of fun to see how he progresses as he continues to get adjusted to folk.

I would argue that he is incompetent at being a heel. He acts like a punk and says cringey stuff, but you can often tell it is acting. Bad acting.

I piss and moan on Starocci all the time, but he isn't actually a bad guy. He acts like a punk, but he isn't bad, evil, or incompetent.

I also believe there is a resolve to focus on avoiding it happening again…which leads to focus to the perpetrators and what they were doing leading up to the event, what might have made them flip the switch, etc. For some, focus on the “blame” is very much a shallow game of “see” and “gotcha”, but for many it’s actually a productive effort.

For fans of The Wire, I recommend David Simon's (creator and showrunner) books Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets and The Corner. Both have scenes that go directly into The Wire. Homicide was also adapted on its own into the NBC series that's finally streaming on Peacock, and The Corner was made into a miniseries on HBO, but I think it's only uploaded to Youtube. I cannot get into Breaking Bad. I've watched the first season twice and both times I've thought "I'm supposed to watch these characters I despise become worse people?" Pass.

After tonight's dominating win over VT it looks like the Coach Taylor message is having an impact. In the past have we seen OSU come out in a dual like this and look sluggish, tired, and guys looking complacent to just get out of the building with a win. From 125-285 every single guy went out and wrestled hard. Guys were pushing for majors and techs with short time in the third period rather than being satisfied with their lead. Even Amine scored a takedown in the third and was pushing for another in short time. It looks like an OSU team that is wrestling with a different mindset than they have years. Ok St fans must be excited. If they get used to wrestling with this kind of mindset, they will be some very tough outs come march.

Speaking of what I'm seeing with my eyes, the Cowboys (unfortunately) looked fantastic

This will quickly solve the climate issue in CA as millions will flee the state or simply stop breathing.
