His memory is failing. He saved 12 people from cannibals by single handedly swimming them from New Guinea to an outer island. He was once thought to be a black man but after coming up from working the Scranton PA coal mine for 30 days straight, wasn't arrested. He was chased by hordes of scandalous women after he scored the winning td in a Senate flag football game but he out ran them.2 points

We didn't see any 57 kg retirements, thank goodness. We could see some really fun non-Olympic-weight World Team Trials brackets. For example, at 61 kg: Zane Richards Vito Arujau Nick Suriano Nico Megaludis Thomas Gilman Nathan Tomasello Daniel DeShazer Daton Fix The Kindergarten Corps2 points

Lebanon has been a US ally for a long time. Iranian proxies are able to infiltrate and stage military actions from their territory, but that does not mean the Lebanese government hosts them. They literally send officers to US military schools. I attended one with about a dozen of them. Ironically, a roughly equal mix of Christian, Jewish and Muslim guys who all smoked cigarettes and drank with each other. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Marcus is really impressive, hopefully he can stay healthy and continue to improve. I look forward to watching him wrestle.2 points

That isn't being ironic. It's called being a classless cunt, so good on you for being the worst you possibly could be. There are those who actually trained during those times and hold parts dear and near to their hearts for those he effected on these forums, myself included.2 points

What do we know about who's retired post-OTTs? I know J'Den and Mark Hall left their shoes on the mat. JB said before OTTs that this was his last go-round, but I haven't seen anything "official" from him. Have to assume Green is done. Not sure what to expect from Gilman, Taylor, Gwiz... Thought Starocci was one and done, but he gave an interview pre-OTTs saying he's leaning toward coming back to PSU so maybe he isn't done internationally either.1 point

I'd expect any wrestling fans will be excused. If there are corn folk there will also be bean folk.1 point

Josh Barr and Alex Facundo both wrestle the same way, and it’s going to frustrate the hell out of me this year. Lots of forehead on mat, both hands on opponents hips, nothing happening. Both very good defensively but they just don’t set up their shots very well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Doesn't look like we have anybody on pace for 4 as of right now so we'll have to look at the incoming classes. I'd say most likely is Penn State with the recruits they're bringing in. Unless somebody else snags Marcus Blaze (pls do this Buckeyes).1 point

I mean if you wanna ignore making up your own quote interchanging jews with zionists that’s fine. Being a Zionist does not make you Jewish and it’s not an exclusive term1 point

Then what you said early was not in fact what he said1 point
-
Yeah, it sounds like an expensive case to litigate. Who is paying the athletes' legal fees? I guess it helps to split it 26 or however many ways, bust still.1 point
-
I am mistaken. You are correct. He was proclaiming his desire for all zionists to die. That is not the same. Interesting that you avoided recognizing that this is also hateful and disgusting and creates a hostile environment for other students. Instead you think that my error some how changes the point. Calling me disingenuous. While I was not correct in the wording, the point still is the same. You say you are glad he apologized. You avoided my question about right wing folks that say oops. You feel the same way about them?1 point

i do give @uncle bernard props for fighting this battle essentially alone. Its not easy dealing with 3 people at a time.1 point

@uncle bernard - you are posting all these snippets. Do you choose to believe all the ones you post, not acknowledging that these are snippets and not showing full context? And perhaps can be misinformation? Haven’t I seen you complain that others blindly believe what they post without recognizing most of the situations have a broader context? And appear to be misinformation? Did you read the NYTimes article today about the guy who proclaimed death to Jews? Doubled down on it. Now says he was wrong. Oops. Should all just forgive him? Like we should forgive right wing protestors that say oops?1 point

Hawkeye's Rico Chiapparelli is name to look up and watch some match videos on youtube. His approach & style of wrestling was innovative and fun to watch.1 point

The UT protests and arrests are the craziest to me right now because Abott literally signed a bill saying it’s legal to protests at colleges in 2019 lol this is going to cost the Texas taxpayer lots of money with all these illegal arrests1 point

when uncle bernard conducts these wars against potentially suicidal, certainly genocidal maniacs who are willing to hide behind their own children in densely populated urban environments he just acts really nice and it all works out.1 point

@uncle bernard - what did I post that suggested they I was accusing any poster here of supporting Hamas? You jumped to that? I guess because you feel you are on the defensive and I am trying to imply you support Hamas. I am not. What I am doing is pointing out the direct guilt Hamas has here. I could not believe it when I saw that there were protesters supporting Hamas after Oct 7. Vile. Evil. Simply pure Evil what they did. Hamas, the elected government of Gaza, brought this down on the people of Gaza ON PURPOSE. There should have been, and should still be mass protests from many of their people AGAINST the atrocities and AGAINST the holding innocent civilians as hostages. They should be seeking to surrender and turn in these pure war criminals that objectively and with purpose, from their leaders down to their troops had the intention, and only this intention, of committing mas war crimes … and then did it. The protestors today are clearly choosing to ignore or belittle the actions of October 7. Israel has the absolute right to protect itself and ELIMINATE Hamas, force unconditional surrender, and then put the war criminals in trial. And yes, unconditional surrender. For now, Hamas continues to fight and hide behind civilians. WHERE ARE THE PROTESTS, WHERE IS THE ANGER from the innocent people, and their allies, that innocents are being used as shields? And again, this talk of Israel committing genocide is ridiculous. Population of Gaza has grown over the years. If Israel wanted to commit genocide the death toll by now would 1 million plus. Fact. On the other hand the chants from Hamas and their supporters, and the ACTUAL ACTIONS THEY TOOK TARGETTING CIVILIANS ON OCT 7 show their desire to wipe out the Jews of Israel. Is that clear enough @uncle bernard?1 point

I agree with Brooks. Think we will find out DT lost to one of the best wrestlers in the world. 2. I also think the same about Spencer... Think he is going to show us at Olympic Qualifier. 3. Vito (at 61, my favorite to watch) 4. Zane (at 70 not sure at 65) put him ahead of Dake because of a more consistent attacking offense. 5. Dake (Side note. If Brooks is as good as I feel he is, we may have the top 2 P4P at the same weight)1 point

There are certain regions of Lebanon outside government control. Just like areas of Russia where the government is more or less nonexistent. Or Mexico. Or Colombia. Or Brazil. Now, could you say that this apathy is the root of this? Sure. They only care about Hezbollah when it becomes a problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I didn’t read all the pages here. But will just jump in. Hamas, the elected government of the people of Gaza, planned for, prepared for, and then executed a planned invasion of Israel with the sole intent of killing, mutilating, and raping civilians along with taking hundreds of them (old folks, kids, babies, moms) hostage. Doing this by hand, face to face, savagery. Freaking definition of evil. Pure, unadulterated evil. Like freaking sick, disgusting evil. Pure terrorism. Pure targeting of ALL civilians they could find. Picture some group / government / organization doing this to the US. Seriously, picture it. Then, Hamas runs back to Gaza and then hides behind and under civilians. Absolutely on purpose. Thus, clearly violating the ‘rules of war’ over and over again. What did they expect Israel to do? What reaction did they want? This, they wanted this. They purposefully brought this down on the people of Gaza. The people that elected them. The people that did not report that this horror was about to happen (many had to know but kept it secret). And now, Hamas continues to fight. Continues to bring the fury of Israel down on Gaza. Refuses to relinquish all hostages. If Israel wanted to target.civilians and commit genocide, we would be talking about millions dead by now. I feel for the true innocents. I do. But what Hamas did rightly unlocked pure fury and Hamas hiding behind the innocents is the true guilty party here. ‘1 point

I do remember that one. Impressive for sure and such a shame that concussions cut his career short. I am thinking it hasn’t happened in freestyle since Cejudo, and if you limit it to minors (under 18), I think Blaze may be the first to make the national team since Carr in 1972!1 point

No way to justify Fix that low. He's got better FS credentials than every guy but #2 and better folkstyle credentials then all but 1-3 and 7 (and 7 hasn't outplaced him since 2019). It would be a stretch to put him at 5. 8 is dumb.1 point

GeoComply provides geolocation software to major sportsbooks to monitor users. The lawsuit notes that when users register with online betting companies, they "consent to share their location data with GeoComply, who in turn provides this data back to the companies." Written policies from DraftKings and FanDuel, the two online sportsbooks the athletes used, tell users the companies may disclose personally identifying information to law enforcement. So they agreed to this by using the betting software? The lawsuit alleges DCI agents told the athletes they were not the targets of the investigation but rather were assisting in an inquiry of sports betting companies. Police lying to criminal suspects-nothing new there.1 point

Bader gave a great interview with him on the most recent version of the Bader show. Dude is beyond a gentleman, just a wonderful soul and a tremendous role model. I legitimately cannot think of anyone I would choose as a better role model to show a young person, let alone a wrestler. There are few wrestlers who transcend the sport itself in the example they set and being a legit role model for any athlete or any person anywhere. J'den is one of those few. If you haven't watched it, definitely check out the episode. We are lucky to have J'den as a part of the sport. https://www.flowrestling.org/events/6197840-the-bader-show/videos?playing=12478080&limit=601 point

I think Dake’s Olympic podium finish will be a big factor on his future plans. If he wins gold he really doesn’t have anything left to prove. It would have to be tempting to retire while he’s at the top. If he doesn’t win gold I could see him aiming for another world title but I can’t see him making it all the way through the quad to 2028.1 point

yeah, he's more Suriano/Dake type right now. in that vein though, he almost never gets scored on. the Blazes are originally from Michigan. Marcus' school list started w/ PSU, Cornell, tOSU, Purdue and Iowa though the word is now that he's down to tOSU and PSU1 point

Haines got teched by Lean Mean Gary Steen in freestyle a few short years ago. His style is folkstyle. This whole tipping somebody over briefly while you’re getting buried on a double leg so you get 2 and he gets 1 is horse shit. Haines knows it, Cael knows it, and the American people know it. You know who liked freestyle more than folkstyle? John du Pont. Everybody is welcome to choose who they side with.1 point
