A great thing about Ryan is that he isn't afraid to speak his mind and advocate for his wrestlers every single step of the way. Even if he is wrong, he isn't wrong because that is what you do. You defend yours. Fortunately, they have a great staff and he has probably one of the best support networks on the planet that is capable of said support.4 points

I knew it was coming and still did a double take thinking this was Jimmy C lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

That is some hilarious and outside the box thinking. I will change it as soon as I remember how. You get 31 days also - I don't want to see you get ripped off here.2 points

@flyingcement , I’ve decided that for 30 days you need to have the same exact avatar as Jimmy Cinnabon. Whichever one he has currently, that is. For some reason that’s the funniest thing I could come up with lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

You know he's a ***ducking** idiot who has you blocked. Not sure how someone could block you. You're easily Top 3 awesome dude.2 points

You know..it took me a while to see what others on the board see with you. Now i do , i understand the hatred. Another stupid post.2 points

I don not begrudge Starocci whatever NIL $$ he can pull down. Just hope he spends some of it on a media consultant (not the one used by the Ferraris or Bo N) so he can stop stepping on his own dick on social media with fake tough guy posts. Hard to reconcile the grave pissing and face spitting character with the humble "all glory to god" disciple.2 points

Exactly, PSU always goes slightly lower than the rumors. So $399K is the probably the PSU offer with a "I was never offered $400K" denial coming. He is only coming back because he loves Jesus and wrestling and pissing on graves and spitting on people, but not for the money or to win 5 titles....2 points

Kinda crazy that Liam Cronin, a 3rd place finisher at NCAA’s, lost to 2 high schoolers, neither of which being the high schooler that took 3rd (Blaze)2 points

Is your outrage the same for dems that had total control for Bidens first two years and did nothing about the border??? Wouldn’t be in this situation if they did.2 points

Could be that he's found some inner peace, but it could also be that he was just distracted with other priorities. Gilman said in an interview (before the finals) that he wasn't even sure if he was going to compete in this cycle's Olympic trials, and mentioned struggling with some domestic adversity over the past several months. Not making excuses for him, but sometimes life happens, esp at that age. He's also not the type of person to randomly bring up stuff like that, so it must've been pretty serious. Whatever it was, I hope he & his family are okay.2 points

I agree re: MM although like most fans I love his style. It's funny and cute at first, but he can wrestle the same way without the antics that are disrespectful to his opponents. Given how many people he's competed against have an issue with it he needs to realize as much and cut some of that out. Just because you smile while doing it and don't retaliate when someone gets chippy with you doesn't mean you aren't an instigator. When the whistle blows take your foot off the gas my friend...2 points

It would become like track and field. Not all great track stars come to the US for college, but a good number do.2 points

We should go to freestyle for a few reasons: 1) It’s a better product. 2) There would be a larger pool of wrestlers to recruit from, meaning higher quality matches. 3) It would provide better preparation for worlds and Olympics. But I know it’ll never happen because too many people prefer watching guys do nothing at the edge, and then crawl out of bounds at the faintest hint of actual wrestling.2 points

Good point. He and Iowa won’t be sniffing even a second place finish anytime soon. I stand corrected.2 points

Burroughs is getting a good experience in being a perpetual runner up from here on out, so he's be a good fit for Iowa.2 points

Dems controlled the house, senate and Oval Office for two years and did nothing. Now that trump wants to run on the border now they all of sudden care. Oh and using tax dollars to bus them to sanctuary cities saves them money when compared to paying for everything.1 point

I don't know that he was resigned to his fate, if you will, as much as the Penn State influence of wrestling not being your identity plays a role. He talks about gee-oh-dee a lot now, which is part of the PSU/NLWC play book. My guess is that he gave it his all, but sees the bigger picture of life.1 point

two things: cox was hurt in that match with taylor which obviously made his normally evasive style a lot more of an eye sore. I probably agree that refs shouldnt care whether he's favoring an injury or not, but we're gonna need robots to ref if you want them to ignore that. If I was gonna give taylor a pass for being a jerk on twitter, which I do, I'd just say he hasn't done anything similar since. I wouldn't imply that he had a right to because an injured man did what he had to do to win. Also, i believe cox scored the only points in the second period of that match.1 point

Kenny is an absolute stud he showed out against Castillo being undersized. Universities should really put an investment in the Rayney bros not super often you get a 2 for 1 package of that caliber the Altons are the last instance of that I can recall on their level.1 point

that part of what made me laugh, he doesn't know what weights he's going, but he wanted to get attention on social media, so he just put together an incoherent post. Sort of like when AJ declared himself the best 197 lbs ncaa wrestler ever, not bothering to consider the fact that cael was a 197 so he might as well have claimed goat status. They're genius'!1 point

I'm sure a lot of kids in other countries would love the chance to get out of some of those places and if wrestling punched their ticket they'd be thrilled to wrestle over here.1 point

Agree. especially if the 'drops to knees' comes when foot is already in the zone. however, i think the officials have been doing a fairly better job and calling for '1' when it's blatantly gamed. almost like a 'continuation' situation. here's my take on it "How can anyone justify a win by criteria with a 1-1 score, both scores coming via the shot clock" How can any wrestler blame anyone but themselves when they did absolutely nothing to score? if you lose a shot clock match, that's a you problem.1 point

This board overreacts. A push out point is one option to address the subjectivity of edge-of-mat stall calls. More wrestlers would learn dive unders and ways to not get moved with their leg up in the air. It's also an option to get rid of edge-of-mat stall calls altogether.1 point

For me it really sucked watching Taylor lose and that is not taking anything away from Brooks, I hope he goes and wins it all. Still at this moment, I cannot believe Taylor lost. So I got to thinking, why is this bothering me so much? I don't personally know him. I have met him a few times and he has always been awesome to fans and very approachable, but why is this so difficult to accept? Then it hit me. David Taylor to me, was the first kind of superstar in our sport since he was just a young kid. There have been plenty of others, but he was the first wrestler that I was able to really follow with all the new Social Media. Magic Man of the Mat was awesome and it really caught my attention and I started following him from there. He has always had that star power and his style of wrestling really made me a fan. I don't know what his next step will be in his wrestling career, but I wish him well and I hope he will stay actively involved with the sport.1 point

Very difficult to wrestle once a year and still maintain your superiority. I think wrestling a full season of matches is an advantage for the HS and college guys who wrestle at the trials. When is the last time Taylor wrestled an actual live wrestling match? Last worlds?1 point

David has had a legendary career. I think it's time he retired and took up coaching at OU or OSU1 point
