One of my favorite ways to cook steak is to reverse sear. If you get your charcoal chimney ripping hot & put a grill grate on it you can get an awesome sear! I cook my steak in the grill or oven at 200 until the internal temp reaches 105 then I pull it and sear over the chimney flipping every 30 seconds.3 points

Decriminalize and Legalizing are not the same thing. You legalize the stuff, make inspection for quality and purity mandatory and require Medical scrip to get it. Taxes and tax enforcement is much more efficient than cops trying to catch people on the street. They got Al Capone on tax fraud. As for "Medical Marajuana"... when did you ever vote on Penicillin, Viagra or any other "medical" treatment or drug? License the stuff, put money into real treatment and recognize no matter what some people just won't be helped. The Cartels can get "legal" supplying to major drug companies, maybe? Still make money and actually become legitimate. Then the poor souls who get hooked on Oxy from too liberal Doctors won't have to find a neighborhood supplier. Maybe they can get the help needed without the stigma and possible criminal prosecution. Someone deals illegally - massive punishment enhancements. Mandatory LONG prison terms. No answer is perfect but what we are doing now is not working - just a full employment for cops, lawyers and judge program.3 points

If the government followed a model like Portugal, decriminalized drugs and treated drug addiction like a health problem, the cost of doing so would be roughly 1/4 the cost of what is spent on enforcement, court costs and incarceration of people who are drug addicts. Not to mention the other associated crimes like theft, etc. You are right if this happened, the cartels would crater financially pretty quickly.3 points

Another great way to do the reverse sear is to pre-cook with an immersion cooker or sous vide cooker.2 points

For all who are sentient - It is known by science that there are differences in male and female anatomy, including bone structure. But in a forum with Riley Gaines and an anthropologist at the U of Pitt, the anthropologist tried to tell Ms Gaines and the audience that there is no way to tell the if 200 year old bones belong to a male or female. The audience laughed at him and he wondered why, since he was the actual expert in the room and has a PhD. I remind you that the TV show Bones was based mostly on being able to identify a male or female by bone structure, mostly facial. This is known and this supposed expert showed that he is more political than scientific, lying about the actual science of the subject that he well knows but doesn't play well among the woke. Talk about shunning science!! What an absolute moron. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/riley-gaines-crowd-laugh-anthropologist-bones-show-sex mspart2 points

Le Duke - This is not the issue and you know it. Functional men (Trans dudes) want you to believe they are a woman and menstrate and can get pregnant. Functional women (Trans dudettes) want you to believe they are a man and can impregate a woman. That is not what your examples are. And you know it. Those are verifiable medical abnormalities. The issue at hand is as I said above, and going so far as to do hormone therapy on minors and even surgery on minors who are not able to buy a gun, drive a car, drink alcohol, but certainly have enough reasoning ability to alter their body. I don't agree with any of it for adults or minors. At least for adults, they take responsibility for their decisions. Minors do not. Adults and minors cannot change their minds later if they have been sterilized by the drugs or physically altered by surgery. It is too late for them. That is the issue. It is barbaric that people even think that this is ok in my opinion. mspart2 points

Birthright citizenship is not applicable to illegal aliens. The children of diplomats who are born when their parents are assigned to duty in the USA are not American citizens. Location of birth is only one of the criteria for birthright citizenship. Lawful legal citizenship of the parent(s) is another. It is stated thusly, "The 14th Amendment . . . says that “[a]ll persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof” are citizens." Illegal aliens are not subject to the jurisdiction thereof and, hence, neither are their children thus they are not citizens. "Amend the constitution? With this political climate? " stated above in a post. No need to amend it. Just read it.1 point

I think his point was that there is no way for HIM to tell until the skeleton's sex or is it gender (oh my, they are waaaayyyyy different, donchaknow) until the skeleton tells us his/her/hir/zir/their/dems/dis/thou pronouns. And he would also need a biologist just like a Supreme Court justice to weigh in on the matter. Of course, everyone else who applies science can tell very quickly but anthropology is probably no longer a science but a social-justice studies "art" so PhD or not he is not a scientist.1 point

Tervel Dlagnev. There isn't anyone in college or international ranks who has anything bad to say about him. He was instrumental in Kyle Snyder's development as well. A great role model and everyone sings his praises as being great in terms of technique instruction. Experience building relationships and recruiting top kids as well. Nebraska is lucky to have him but I could see him becoming HC somewhere. Askren is a superstar kids/club coach, but the Twitter X rants about cryptocurrency, conspiracy theories, and right-wing political stuff (like re-tweeting Cernovich) would be a problem with big college admin who are very liberal/PC.1 point

I’m not usually one for just throwing around accusations, but I think Russia has earned the suspicions. Check out pics of him from the Olympics and then pics of him later. It’s just really hard to believe a Russian wrestler looking like that is all natural especially when he seemed to begin to look a lot more natural after the doping scandals broke.1 point

So your defense has advanced now to “that was a long time ago?” Well that’s easy. China paid Joe a couple years ago and this year he let them send a surveillance balloon across the country.1 point

The logic being used to select the repechage wrestlers isn't that they proved anything, but rather that it has been proven that there are at least two wrestlers better than the wrestlers not in the repechage - the wrestler they lost to and whoever ultimately defeated that guy. The repechage does a not awful job at determining the second best wrestler in that half off the bracket or at least that's the logic The guy who loses in the first round to the finalist does get a free pass to the repechage, but he also has to wrestle 1-2 matches whilst the semi-final loser is waiting - its not easy, so that may help account for the poor record. However in a way making him wrestling 2-3 matches in a row balances the fact that he only wrestled 1 and the semifinal loser wrestled 2-3 the day before. They all need to win the same number of matches too finish 3rd. Probably the fact that they now seed the wrestlers is a bigger factor. Yazdani's repechage performance in 2018 was pretty remarkable. After losing to Taylor in the first round he won three straight matches beating Taylors opponents by a wider margin that Taylor did to finish 3rd. It is far better than most other olympic combat sports which just give bronze medals to the semifinalists1 point

The two best guys meeting in the first round has essentially been eliminated by seeding, although that process is still contingent upon wrestlers completing in some level of ranking series or continental championship. The odds of a world champ just peacing out and coming back after two years to hit the #1 seed is pretty slim.1 point

Stop letting illegals in. (take a lesson from Poland) Deport existing illegal alien tresspassers. (yes, by the millions!) Sunset birthright citizenship. Streamline the legal immigration process. Increase work visa opportunities (stop the visa lottery nonsense). ---------- Next, focus on being a good caretaker for actual citizens.1 point

Lets just execute him and get it over with. You know he had to vote " for " the legislation once he had pulled the fire alarm right. What is the chance a former high school principal and teacher did not what happens when you pull a fire alarm? Who really thinks he could accidently pull the fire alarm by mistake?1 point

Not smoking, and not meat strictly. But, has anyone else tried one of these pizza oven attachments for their charcoal grill? It makes amazing pizzas in minutes. My wife sets up a toppings bar. She and the kids crank out crusts and our guests make their own pizzas, while I cook them all. Very social way to cook.1 point

I believe we've seen Sashidov in the corner against Taylor couple times too. Pretty interesting dynamic. Sanderson can't beat Sashidov, but wins the olympic bracket. And now Sashidov can't beat Sanderson from the corner...1 point

There are pros and cons to providing an extra 3,000 seats, the West Gym atmosphere of being a packed house and having the wrestlers in a small heated environment really seemed to give UNI a home mat advantage. The big question is whether UNI will be able to fill those extra 3,000 seats. As an outsider looking in it's been awesome to see Schwab have success and hope for continued success but this seems to be a hurdle that no Division 1 coach should have to balance with the rest of their duties.1 point

Ok, I have wasted my entire lunch thinking about this. By weight the entrants in the MFS were: LARGE BRACKETS 57 kg, 65 kg, 74 kg, 86 kg, 97 kg, and 125 kg (the Olympic weights) are essentially 64 man brackets. In all cases when semifinals are complete, the repechage brackets can be constructed by best record, with tie breakers, to determine the six eligible wrestlers. Using 65 kg and 86 kg as examples, the records this year break down as follows: In both cases all wrestlers with 3-1 records make the repechage. We then use the current tie breaker system for places 7-10 to choose which two wrestlers at 65 kg, and four wrestlers at 86 kg, among those with 1-1 records makes repechage. Sticking with the easy example, 65 kg would result in Kazakhstan, Bahrain, and Belgium (all 0-1) being replaced with Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, and USA (all 3-1) in the repechage. This is probably the most egregious example, 37.5% of the wrestlers eligible to finish third got there by failing to win a match. Said another way, more than half of the wrestlers at 65 kg outperformed these three wrestlers, but were blocked from placing third by them. Silliness. Note: it is also possible Japan at 2-1 would be replaced, depending on the tie breakers. In 92 kg two 0-1 wrestlers would be dropped for two 2-1 wrestlers. And perhaps there would be some swapping of 2-1 wrestlers, again tie breaker dependent. SMALL BRACKETS For 61, 70, 27, and 92 the math works out differently because they are essentially 32 man brackets with different possible records. Using 92 kg this year it looks like this: Note: while it did not happen in these brackets, it is possible to be 5-0 in large brackets or 4-0 in small brackets after semis. In 92 kg this year it is not clear that anything would change as all repechage participants won at least one match in the championship brackets (2 in the Qualifying/Pig Tail round / 2 in the 1/8 Final round). It would depend on the aforementioned tie breakers.1 point
