Seven shots of Jameson, seven shots of Baileys and 7 pints of Guinness goes well with eight racks of boar ribs.2 points

Glory dominated and only 1 hour after making weight. A finals match with spencer lee will be way more recovery time. I could see Glory majoring him, with Lee getting frustrated and trying big moves only to get countered.2 points

That’s what his teammates call him and this is his second year at heavy. Tony deserved this one but I have hope!2 points

Disagree. He won an NCAA title after ripping them apart - total domination.2 points

Despite all of the forum "noise" around this 21 page topic , I am only sure of one thing - glad to see Burwick back on the mat and competing this season. Good luck to all involved.2 points

I like Burwick going back to high school. He came out hard tonight, but gassed a bit at the end, which is to be expected with all the emotion/excitement he went through today.2 points

I’m not a fan of the religious aspect, but Team Carl is able to put Phil Jackson to shame. He turns myeh into good, good into great, and great into elite. He also helps those individuals realize the secret sauce that there is no finish line and you will always be seeking more but harness that into a positive. It takes many of us well into our 40s and 50s if we are lucky to fully grasp that philosophy. He’s truly the evolution of Dan Gable. Hate it or love it, but we all have to respect it. I genuinely believe that Kyle Snyder and his mentality is the perfect molding where his protege Taylor falls short with his dick-swinging bravado. He is the true heir to the Sanderson school. A selfless champion that just wants to always give his best, work harder than anyone else, and appreciate the life lessons of wrestling. Servant-leader attitude. Should we all be so lucky…2 points

Now, this is rasslin' weather. Just got home. Entertaining match. Other than 125 (see below), the ref did a great job. Nice quick tribute to the retiring Cornell AD. No Vito. Yianni with TF. I know this will sound stupid, but the Lehigh kid put up the best fight I ever saw in a TF. Ramirez overpowered Lehigh. Foca's match was tighter than 9-5 score would indicate, I thought. Cornella was not agressive enough IMO. Beard with a non impressive decision over Cardenas. I would have called Beard numerous times for stalling on top. Seems like there's a thread on here about that parallel ride thing... The Big Boys was one of the most entertaining matches I've seen in a while. Both guys left it all out there. Gas tanks were on E after that match. Not the 7 minute waltz you often get with the 285s. Lots of good action. The Lehigh kid must have had to take off his warmups to make weight. He was a biiiig feller. The 125s made up for the 285 match with the biggest double snoozefest I can remember watching in a while. I would have called double stalling in the standing position so many times, it would have been a double DQ. I forget who even won. Cornell 133 kept from getting stuck for the win for the team. One thing that's often overlooked, the ref did a great job of starting the action in the ref's position. I think only 2 cautions in the whole match. He blew the whistle immediately when the top man came set. I hate when refs wait and you have umpteen cautions. I had forgotten how cold that hill can be in the winter. I'm not so sure about global warming, it didn't seem that cold 50+ years ago...1 point

I've always thought Kenney is a very solid professional. Enjoy his work at NCAAs (early round and wrestle backs). He and Harrison are a pleasant combo. Usually I'm not crazy about the highly caffeinated approach like Rock, but he's so endearing and such a nice fit with Kenney that it works pretty well.1 point

I’ve been wondering that myself. I’m not sure. I know it was between Hawks and Harmon going into the scuffle and that was “a battle for the spot” Harmon was the 2 seed and didn’t perform well. Hawks lost early and won a couple on the backside. Neither placed. Harmon has been Mia lately and it’s been Hawks in the lineup. No clue if it’s injury related or Hawks is the man going forward.1 point

And he does have a leg attack!!!! A long time ago, when I was a young coach, one of my really goods was a defensive wrestler. We went to maybe an age-group state tournament, and he got beat in the finals by a good kid who was more offensive. After that I spent more and more time in the room on offense....don't get me wrong, we worked hard on defense, but there was more emphasis on offense. That same wrestler a couple of years later became a 2 time state placer/state champion. He was actually an age-group national champion as well.1 point

Not a great quote, but I always remember it because it makes me laugh. My neighbor growing up was a weight below me. We would carpool to away matches and our parents would tape each other's kids so the actual parents could watch without worrying about recording. His dad was tough on him and the following convo happened after he got pinned in a headlock early in the first period. Dad: "Nice going, Matt. What did you last, about ten seconds?" Matt: "But Dad! He got me in a headlock!" Dad: "Matt, this is wrestling. Don't let him get you in a headlock."1 point

125: Matt Ramos 133: Lucas Byrd 141: Andrew Alirez 149: Austin Gomez 157: Josh Humphreys 165: Michael Caliendo 174: Michael Labriola 184: Isaiah Salazar 197: Yonger Bastida 285: Dayton Pitzer1 point

This is going to come off as a super hot take that I’m hoping bares fruit, but Isaiah Salazar (184) is Minnesota best wrestler currently and I could see him placing as high as 2nd in big tens. We’ll see how dual season shakes out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I hate when stalling gets called on the guy who is glued to the mat on bottom instead of the guy on top with parallel ride1 point

Not sure on that, but Sanderson is 6th all time in individual AAs. 1) Harold Nichols 156 2) Dan Gable 152 3) John Smith 150 4) Jay Robinson 124 5) Bobby Douglas 110 6) Cael Sanderson 90 The totals for Sanderson and Smith probably include 2020 no tournament AAs.1 point
