Nice job Indiana. Since Angel has been in charge the squad has always fought all three periods. Out maned or not they keep hammering for the full match. Unlike in the previous Goldman era. The last 5 or so years.3 points

Gotta love the threat of no longer being on the team when you struggle to cut an unhealthy amount of weight. At some point, the coaches should tell a kid like this they have to bump up and take their chances at a higher weight. It may leave a hole in the lineup, but reducing health risks to these kids is more important.3 points

As a PA native it gives me great pride to see how Iowa fans universally recognize their GOAT wrestler is Spencer Lee, a PA boy. I hope that once he finishes his amateur career he starts his coaching career in PA. I'm sure he'll eventually push the Brands out of Iowa City, but I think they are young enough that a 25 year old Spencer won't be evicting them from their offices any time soon. How about Spencer Lee coaching at a place like Lock Haven?2 points

Yes. They are from Park Hill Mo. They were committed to Mizzou first, but followed Clemson to Maryland.2 points

If I am not mistaken, everyone from everywhere considers him the GOAT.2 points

He's had a very rough season in his personal life... his dad passing away being a big part of it. I t think he is finally settling in with wrestling right now. Great kid. The funny thing about the Plot match, was that he had been sick for awhile and had only practiced a few days before the Ok State dual. He's definitely a kid you want to root for.2 points

You can call it the bow and arrow.....I call it a bent leg turk....part of the turk series...inside leg turk, outside leg turk, folded leg turk and the BENT LEG TURK as discussed by the great one Dave Schultz and demonstrated by one of his greatest protege's, David Lee. Have a couple of great videos in my library with Schultzie teaching leg wrestling ......some of my favorite videos. He turned legs into hip tips, bars and more. The Master and loved and respected by the Russians. Fadz https://fb.watch/hX9_t17Vn_/2 points

You're seriously trying compare the pain of PT for your kid vs a mildly controversial wrestling move. Let's slow this crazy train down. We're all good here.1 point

Cool - another turd statement. Way to contribute.1 point

You seemed like you wanted to be asked, or else why bring it up?1 point

First and foremost… gauche… tip of the cap… Secondly… your sentiment is noted and I agree with it for the most part… it’s just hard to converse (for me) without occasionally bringing up the fact I have kids who wrestle… I apologize I brought up that I did pay for multiple sessions of physical therapy for one of my children that 100% was more painful than anything poor Amos had to deal with in those 4-5 seconds of the torture rack he was forced to endure… I feel like it is my duty to warn youIt might happen again in the future no matter my best intentions…1 point

Does it make me a bad person if I have never used an emoji? Reading about your various techniques for self care makes me not regret swimming, in spite of the partially torn labrums1 point

Agree to disagree. I think Spencer (I know he just got thrown to his back) is the only lone wolf tier guy this year. Tier 1 125 - Spencer 133 - RBY, Fix, Vito (maybe) 141 - the top 15 guys 149 - Yianni, Gomez 157 - Robb, O'Connor, Andonian (could add more possibly) 165 - O'Toole, Griffith, Carr 174 - Starrocci, Lewis, Labriola, Foca (maybe) 184 - Brooks, Hidlay, Keck 197 - the top 12 guys HWT - Kerk, Parris, Cass1 point

Because Iowa has been dominant for so long and taken such great pride in Iowa being the best wrestling state...and the unadulterated worship of Spencer Lee, who happens to be from PA, contradicts this Iowa-centric mindset.1 point

Go to Carver Hawkeye and survey the crowd. I guarantee 95% will say it's Spencer Lee.1 point

Oh, I can see where it came from ....it doesn't sound like the name of a move used in college or international wrestling, and this is a college forum...just like I kind of chuckle at, and even get in friendly arguments with some pretty "high level" coaches over the term "chicken wing".....I tell them "that is what you get at KFC or Buffalo Wild Wings".....to me they are called armbars. One of those coaches, and a great coach, terms the arm across the back an armbar....I call that a hammerlock. Argument closed....lol.1 point

Nope. Don't be a dummy. A tough bow & arrow isn't a "mild practice stretch" ... you're just posting like an idiot on purpose here.1 point
-
It makes me giggle… the bow and arrow torture rack scare!!!!! that is a mild before practice stretch compared to a gut from even a mid Greco guy… seems much ado about nothing… as per…1 point

Few things. No it shouldn’t be made legal in high school. College is adults wrestling do it’s hard for me to see the need to make it illegal. Same way handfighting till fist fights in high school practices would be stupid, problematic and create problems.. but doing it in college has a purpose and it’s grown men training. Not every athlete is the same. Most wrestle best calm. Some wrestle best ticked off. Same with techniques and who they work for. So bringing up one that youve coached as your example of why you’re right seems… eh. And I’d prefer refs make the judgement calls to make sure newer athletes aren’t ran out of the sport by guys trying to showboat. Most athletes that depend on the move tend to be bully style guys anyway. Which means they’ll eventually hit a wall on that working consistently anyway1 point

Also, the claw, spiral, figure fouring the leg, tightwaist, cross wrist, Blair ride, double boots, arm bar, bottom leg turk, and half from the knees can cause discomfort and are keeping guys down - - should be banned!1 point
