True!  Hell they just got AJ to his lowest career finish!

Moved up a weight class and his wrestling got better. This says it all...

What did he finish this year? And where does that stack up against his prior finishes? And how many losses did he take this year vs. his whole career? And hasn't he wrestled Yonger before this year?  How did that match go?

You mean like Stephen Buchanan?  Mikey Caliendo? Jaydin Eierman?  Real Woods?

Also, wasn't yours (and Manning's) whole thing last year about how homegrown your guys were? Hmmm

None of them got much better, most  worse. Let alone the last 2 years of flops for Iowa. Wrestling has pasted iowa. I would take a nap watching Angelo, Kennedy, and Arnold wrestling in practice.  All big time recruits and fail to develope any offense

Iowa state is the only team who was so obvious about it that the almighty Cael felt compelled to stir the pot and say something and their 4 main targets that they offered (Cardenas , Garvin, Norman and Novak) were all known on wrestling forums the day after ncaas so yea this seems like a fair one to latch onto. Dresser DGAF about rules lol

You’re taking an internet rumor and running with it.

Stephen Buchanon literally won a title last year.  Are you ok?  Also, literally every guy in my post had their highest ever finish at Iowa.

Eise and Endene great fits for ASU. Great fits for anyone. But I think ASU was in the final 3 for Endene last year. And Eise is from Schultz’s hometown. Not that appeared to the help with the original recruitment out of high school. Ruiz should help them attract upper weight talent. Scuba cane in and did great. Hawks had himself great tournament runs.

Do you want to see him go up or do you think he’s too big or what’s going on here

I want to see competition at 197lbs.

McEnelly to 197 does that.

McEnelly also U20 Gold at 86 KG.  I think the best version possible isn't a 184lb version going up.  I think it's a 197lb version going down.

I don’t think he was enrolled in either 2021-2022 or 2025-2026, but it doesn’t matter if he was enrolled in 2021-2022 he was still competing.  He wrestled in the Clarion Open and the Matman.  You can’t unenroll and go to the OTC for a year and stop your clock not in D1.  Go one a mission, military service, something like that.  Play a totally different sport has work too.  JR Smith played pro basketball then returned to play golf in college.  Chris Weinke played minor league baseball then went to Florida State to play football.  None of these examples had the person participating in the sport they were seeking eligibility in.

How on this green earth is Endene still allowed to wrestle yet another year?   It seems criminal and unfair to other wrestlers:

Massoma Endene has already competed in college for six years as of the 2025-2026 season.
Here is a breakdown of his collegiate career:
  • Junior College (2 years): He spent two years at Iowa Lakes Community College, where he was a two-time NJCAA All-American and a 2022 runner-up.
  • Division III (3 years): He then competed for three years at Wartburg College, winning three NCAA Division III national championships at 197 pounds.
  • Division I (1 year): He transferred to the University of Iowa for the 2025-2026 season for his final year of eligibility.
  • And now he is apparently back at Iowa for next season.   Count em: 7 years!  Even guys like Lucas Byrd must be jealous

Nebraska would at least teach him how to get takedowns

They must have started teaching how to get takedowns after the Iowa dual because they couldn’t much going that night.

How willing is Slumlord Supreme going to be to open the checkbook this year?

Iowa has some gaping holes at 133, 149/157 (whatever weight Block doesn't go), 165, 197. Might include 125 in there until proven otherwise.

You know who else said they weren't going up?  Trumble.  Then he won a title. 🤷🏿‍♂️

McEnally is absolutely going up - he is going to need to get somehow bigger if he wants to compete at 86 on the senior circuit.

Trumble was never going to stay down at 197. I was worried he would outgrow 97kg to be honest.

You think McEnelly will be 197 next year? Based on what?

They likely all will by the end of their respective careers. Sinclair and McEnally will go asap for 86kg olympic aspirations in 2028. Ferrari boys don't like FS so I would expect him to stay down at 184 as long as he can hold it to optimize title chances.

It’s not really talked about out but it speaks to what kind of person Ty Watters is for not hitting the transfer portal.

Although if anyone has had the pleasure to meet him you shouldn’t be surprised.
