word is that he bought u of I gear from an apparel company that his wife owns.

4-5k worth.

and the wrestlers and coaches wore it which conflicts with nike deal.

Just a little "side hustle!"  What would Trump do?

How many Cael Cookie preorders are headed for the PSU nutrition table?

It may depend on if PSU has a nutrition sponsorship deal with another company.

Craig Henning got screwed in the 2007 NCAA Finals.

You've got to be kidding! I thought he was smarter than that! He isn't at an NAIA school! Universities are not going to play around when it comes to their money!

When you say “he,” does that mean the university?  If so, I think that would be an issue even outside of anything to do with the Nike deal.

I wonder if he knew it would be a minor problem but worth the risk for the viral marketing value for his wife’s company.

He might not be that disappointed if things take off for them.

Does anyone even know what the company is called?

“No documented cases exist of Division I (D1) sports coaches being suspended specifically for violating an apparel contract with Nike or other prominent companies such as Adidas or Under Armour.”

There’s always the first suspension. First lawsuit….

$45 for a gray sweatshirt that just says WRESTLING ILLINOIS in block lettering, WTF is this crap

Can only guess, but any Illinois logo apparel business would probably be separate from the consumer web site.

Plain sweatshirts from Old Navy are also a similar price.  I think that is just inflation.

The minimalist style isn't bad for me, but to each their own.

The reported amount of money was not that much.   Even though this seems obviously wrong to all of us, I dont know any details of the story, so I'm comfortable giving benefit of the doubt (not that my opinion about this would matter anyway; it doesn't)

Silly stuff to me, I hope he just gets a slap on the wrist and doesn’t get canned for this. BUT schools take this seriously - no idea if this is a big $$$ outlay for an Olympic sport at Illinois, but they’re a Nike school and Nike and Nike schools take logos and trademarks and the like serious, maybe the biggest thing is the blatant conflict of interest using a vendor run by his wife, THAT may be what does him in if this is a case for termination.
