Resisting arrest is a fun night?  Also not being able to get an escape on a police officer may be embarrassing.  Video showed he tried.

super fun night. you are a hall monitor snitch. stop it.

Can't lose to the cop in any form of grappling if you want it to be cool. When I hear they needed a taser to get him down I'll accept it

I don't think VT has the cash to make it happen. It sounds like he liked the idea of a RS year behind Eddie V but I expect cash to win out.

I have heard the Koll has a lot of money at his disposal and I think he is a very good coach. Wrestling career wise short term I am not sure its the best move. In a sport that does not offer a ton of guarentees money wise though, getting amounts of money that if used wisely can set you up for the rest of your life kinda seems like a no-brainer to me. Also not a bad education at UNC.

Edit: I am not sure why I replied to this message, Agree with everything you posted. I think tech would have provided him with the best partners and they have been historically very good at 125 under Robie.

Selfishly, I really hope to see Knox at UNC. It was before my time, and I don't know how big of a recruit Travis Lee was coming out of high school, but before him, Cornell had only had a handful of All-Americans in the history of their program. I feel like if a recruit like Knox goes to UNC and excels, it could be a major domino effect for that program. At least from Koll's pitch, UNC offers a great education but isn't handcuffed by the Ivy's rules when it comes to athletics. Get paid, get a good education and access to all of the connections Koll has in his rolodex for post-grad interests. That's a pretty good sell.

Big $ and training with Ramos may be hard to turn down. UNC is a quality school  too. VT is the all around better option for partners, off the mat quality of life and coaches’ mentorship

I'm not questioning you on partners, but I am curious how one would claim that VT has anything else to offer that isn't bested by UNC. I love VT and their program, but what does Blacksburg offer off the mat that isn't bested by UNC? I'm not in the know, but as a West Coaster, the idea of going to Chapel Hill seems more appealing than Blacksburg. Genuine question.

In a previous century I visited several places for grad school, including UNC, Duke, and VT.  I chose to apply to Duke and VT, and ended up going to Penn State.  Personally, I loved Blacksburg way more than Chapel Hill.  Something about the atmosphere and geography was incredibly warming and would have been a great fit for my personality, even though I now live in a metropolitan area of 8 million.

Will a certain person at UNC need to pre-approve Knox in order to avoid a repeat of the AJ episode?

Dispassionate Penn State grad and fan.

I see a couple scenarios, maybe more:

UNC administration to Koll — what the hell?  Again?  What’s up with you and wanting to get these guys into our school?

Koll to UNC Admin - you screwed me last time, don’t screw me again!!!

Speaking of Pyles, anyone else notice that starting the day after Knox decommitted (and nearly every day since) CP has been sharing links to Papa Knox's weight cutting business on his Instagram story? That's weird right?

I feel you on this. But at the same time, Penn State is a juggernaut and for the similar reasons to your point, I would like to see him go to Virginia Tech because they're gonna need more big time recruits to compete. There is a lineup fit issue there if he doesn't want to redshirt next season.

In 2028, VT has point scorer potentials with Seidel(133), Dillon Campbell(need to bump 141), Bo Bassett(149), Colin Gaj(need to bump 157), Melvin Miller(174), Ryan Burton(165), Sonny Sasso(197), Jim Mullen(HWT). Some of these are a stretch, but this is 8 guys I think will be ranked top 15.

Off the mat attraction in or near VT; tons of hiking (McAfee’s, most photographed location on AT), the New River, Claytor lake and the small town vibe of Blacksburg. It’s a niche and special place but not for everyone. The outdoor type looking for a laid back lifestyle would love the place. VT has had a number of NJ guys come here McFadden, Lewis, Burton and others

Or him running in the stands to fight people made them not want to invest in him?

as you drunkenly wrote to me previously: "You are a dik for denigrating  d1 and any college wrestler for they matter… actually your prolly a dik either way"

My wife and I went to VT for grad school. Lived off of Craig Creek Road, about 10min from campus. We went mountain biking and hiking at Pandapas Pond at least five days a week when weather allowed. Went further out on the weekends. Fly fishing on several creeks near town.

Visited a friend at Chapel Hill a couple times. Great school, but the campus isn’t nearly as nice as VT. Probably a more valuable degree, but they’ll let you know that, too.

VT is a sleepy college town. I liked that. Some may not.

You were denigrating huge pools of the wrestling community.  Essentially statistically all of it.   You insinuated #13/14 types or ncaa d1 qualifier types weren’t good enough for you to watch.

this (Knox criminal saga) is a bit different

Wow both you and creek chub speak highly of this place. I’ve done my share of hiking in parks all over the country but haven’t heard of Mckavee Knob’in VA. According to Google, its about 4 1/2 hours from my home and worth the drive after seeing some incredible photos online.

If VT can afford the Bassett clan they can afford Knox on discount

It’s a beautiful place. I actually drove past the trail head parking lot this morning going to the family farm around daylight. The parking lot was almost full.

if you go, make sure you don’t park where there are no parking signs. Not trying to be funny but during the fall, it happens and you will get towed. I’ve seen cops have 6-8 tow truck lined up and hauling cars off. There’s a shuttle service too but not sure how that works but it’s probably on the Roanoke County website.

There is a new bridge from the parking lot over route 311 to the trail. I haven’t been in years since I did trail runs but, depending on your condition level, it’s moderately difficult and maybe a 4 mile trip each way.
I highly recommend being at the knob before daylight or near sunset, it’s stunning if the weather cooperates.
You can also do a much further hike with two vehicles from tinker cliffs to McAfee’s

Dragon’s tooth is another worthy option just down route 311
