New movie about NCAA Champion Mark Kerr, played by the Rock, comes out in theatres this weekend.

Looks decent and has some good early reviews.

Also, I went back and looked at the bracket from 1992 when Kerr beat Couture.  What a list of names in every bracket.  Shout out to NWOF for putting out all of the old brackets and sucking me into a rabbit hole. https://nwhof.org/national-wrestling-hall-of-fame/brackets?page=2

anyone else have trouble watching the rock? if he was a great actor I wouldn't let his fraudulent pubic persona bug me, but he's a middling actor....

I’ve had trouble watching the rock in anything since I came across that weird and downright disgusting Saturday night live skit from years back

As a self proclaimed film snob I will say the studio A24 rarely puts out bad movies so I am very excited.

I highly recommend the 2002 HBO documentary; I can't imagine this film being better than the original.

Best part of these two films...

Bas Rutten is featured as one of Mark's trainers in the documentary.

20+ years later, the role of Bas Rutten in the scripted film is played by...Bas Rutten. It looks like he hasn't aged a day.

Mark Kerr was just on episode 2384 of the Rogan Podcast. He brought up a few things from his wrestling days. I did not know about him being coached by Chris Campbell prior to listening to the episode.

Chris was an attorney for the Carrier Corp. and an assistant for a pretty good Syracuse team at the time.  The team included Kerr, Tom Ryan, highly ranked Richie Santana, Nick Garone, and others.
