Don't think Barr is close to healthy, so I think that deficit would shrink a bit in this hypothetical situation.

And if hypothetical Lee and woods win they knock more points out of psu’s projected total.

It’s not “my rules” it’s literally what Little Rock did this year.

Illegally.  You also ducked the point of my post, which is that even by your and Little Rock's blatantly illegal approach, Iowa wouldn't have close to a realistic chance.

Maybe make it an all star meet.   Make it 50 years of eligibility boom

I've had some time to think on the issue. First off, Brennan isn't the only guy getting more than one Sr season. If any of those other guys are competing, he should be allowed to as well. Secondly it's not his fault if the coaches at LR lied to him and said he had another year of eligibility, if indeed they lied. I don't think the wrestler should be punished for the sins of the coaching staff or the AD. If the NCAA had done their due diligence prior to every match then this debacle probably would've never occurred.

Let the kid wrestle.

I'm not quite an exhibitionist at this stage.  Would they except a lightweight form of long underwear?

Back in my day the only clothing I wore to weigh in was one sock.

Also I think no one should get a 5th (or more) post season so I’m joking

Brooks and Steveson did/will compete for 4 NCAA Championships since they used a year in 2020.  Starocci will compete for 5 NCAA Championships because he did not use a year in 2020.

That time you missed the number 5.

People who wrestling in the 2019-2020 season got either 3 or 4 bites at the Championship apple.   Brennan in this case should only get 4 bites.  He is trying to get his 5th bite and that is not allowed.

You wrote post season not NCAA championship  "A wrestler may compete in 5 post seasons if one of those were the 2021 championships unless they competed in the 2020 championships."  The conference tournament is part of the post season.

You forgot the 2 pts x falls thats 10 more x 2 wrestler = 20.

That's the 10 bonus points. 1st placement + advancement = 20 points. 1st with 5 pins = 20 + 10 (5x2 for bonus) that's 30 per wrestler. 60 total. In your previous post you accidentally multiplied the bonus twice to get to 40 total points instead of 20, and then 2 extra advancement points. Not trying to be the math guy here, I miscounted my own dual score prediction a little while back. 😅

it doesn't matter! wrestlers who weren't good enough to make the postseason but still used their eligibility in 2020 are treated differently than wrestlers who used a year of eligibility in 2021.

We are do the @Wrestleknownothing mathy and you keep forgetting the falls plus there's 5 advancement points from the pigtail so its 82 pts max for the two wrestlers.  Wkn is scoring pinfalls here.  Now I don't believe in em am sure there's no pinfellery in the NCAA rule book.  But I was replying to Wkn's post so just doing the math the way he call for it.  🙂

Your math is incorrect.  The max points from the #1 seed is 16 for placement, 10 points for a pin in each of the five matches and 4 points for advancement in each round.    If one was the 32nd or 33rd seed, they could score an extra 3 points, one for advancement and one for a pin.

You are still missing the 2 pts for falls and yes I prob underestimated the total but just trying to show Wkn it was more than 79 if going with mythical pinfalls.

We are not missing the 2 pts for falls.   Everyone except the pigtail wrestles five matches to take 1st.  At 2 pts per fall per match, the most bonus a wrestler can have is 10 bonus points if they take 1st.     Again 16 pts for placing 1st, 10 points for pinning all five opponents and 4 pts for advancent.    There is no way an individual can score 40 pts in a single NCAA championship.

Why doesn't anyone seem to blame the wrestler for not knowing.  I would think any wrestler who is staying around for his 6th year might inquire or figure it out before hand.  Just blaming the compliance person is a little unfair.  The wrestler and coach clearly are more in tune with the individual facts and details about the wrestling team.

I just went to the Little Rock wrestling roster website and even that page has him as a Redshirt Junior in 2022-2023.  Therefore, 2023-2024 was redshirt senior (5th year) and 2024-2025 is his 6th year.  Obviously one year too many.

Its not hard.  You get 5 years eligibility to compete in 4 seasons (assumes 1 redshirt if you take it), unless you competed in 2021, which was eligibility free (i.e. Starocci).

Regarding the NCAA alternate getting the spot over the PAC runner-up.  It is presumed the PAC runner-up was already considered when NCAA picked the wild cards and alternate.  So it should go to the alternate.

Bad look on the athlete, coaches, and others that can't count properly.  This is there job.
