Do you know what $2.5M means to a multi billionaire?

Ira is far wealthier than Bob and made most of his $$$ slumming in real estate

And does he want to be co-head coach. But I would think if tom took him under his wing with a promise of “if things work out in a few years, turning it over to him , it may be very tempting. Iowa has the money to toss at him.

I would think Prizlaff has been the "head coach in waiting" too many times to go back to that role.   If Iowa wants him they have to make him the HC.

And let's be real, there is nothing he needs to learn at Iowa. DT didn't have any college coaching experience and has figured it out in Stillwater.  DP has been in the game and a lot longer and can certainly figure it out in Iowa City without a year under TnT's wing.

If two billionaires are walking down the street and come upon a $2.5M pile of cash would they bother fighting over it or just keep walking?   🤔

Glad he is ok! Scary stuff especially a week after having the most physical event of the year

Yeah- really scary. Coming off a major surgery to wrestle this season straight to another surgery.

AND he won by Medfft over Ferrari.... LOL. Respect to Kueter for having an injury and finishing.

Great post by his mom.  What type of surgery did Kueter have?

Every article I've seen says undisclosed except one Hawkeye fan page said it was another hip surgery and will be out 4 months. Which sounds a lot like last year's article except this one was posted 2 hours ago and references the hospital scare.I'm not sure if they are just going off of old information on it or not.

I think you misunderstood the part about under wing. TandT have invaluable resources, information , doner connections, knowledge of Iowa’s administration personalities, that facilitate a smooth coaching transition. It doesn’t have to be that way, but seems if possible, it would be good for all involved. Out going coaches, incoming coaches, administrators. And yes he does need to learn about Iowa, like any prospective coach coming in any job.
The only thing is if Donny and Brands can and are willing to.
Don’t think there is a negative side to it.

Thanks for the info.  Hope he makes a full recovery and can return to action.

Iowa looked much better at Nationals than the rest of the season.

Is it because they wrestled out of their minds, or has Tom & Co finally started pushing actual wrestling & offense rather than hold on & pray?

If it is because he is loosening a bit and pushing for more action & coaching his guys to go for it - good for them. Question remains tho - will we see this type of attitude next season?

They looked great at nationals if you measure them against the low bar the season set.  If you look at them vs preseason expectations, they had an average year at best.

I completely agree. They managed to keep the finalist streak alive at least. I don't know what they did this season compared to the past but Iowa looked ready to go at the tournament. If they do this every year then the reputation of burning out at the end of the season might go away. I don't know maybe Iowa needs to start playing more dodgeball or something

I am not sure where the 2.5 million buyout number came from but I tracked down that article from before big tens and it says the buyout is $750k right now and it goes down to $500k after July 1

They had a decent year to preseason expectations.  From Flo Nov 11 rankings.

Peterson, Ayala, Williams, Kennedy, and Ferrari dropped.  Endene wasn't ranked on Nov 11 but was 8th on Nov 17.  Bailey and Block improved from the initial ranking.  Caliendo and Keuter matched their preseason ranking.  So that's 50% underachieving, 20% matching, 20% matching, and whatever you want to call Endene.

It's a decent year overall where they were really bad in the regular season and then rebounded almost to where they started in the NCAAs.
