I asked the Ohio State board what they thought it would take to persuade Jesus from leaving State College and come to Columbus after their Big Ten infomercial. First couple posters that responded thought I was referring to Cael.

It gives a feel there is someone running a Bible study in state college who brings in all the new wrestlers and convinces them they will only win national titles if all they do is speak and spread Jesus’s name. They probably use all the recent examples like Aaron Brooks who couldn’t complete a sentence without referencing god or Jesus or the Holy Spirit, and then goes on the getting suspended for taking Adderall and PED’s. Kyle Snyder goes to State College and gets caught in a prostitution scam and instead of saying he’s sorry to his wife and will work on repairing his family, he says he’s gonna talk to Jesus about it and see what he thinks… after all Snyder is still competing at the senior level and wants to win more titles. So every time they speak it’s a Jesus infomercial. And it feels like it’s got around to every top kid wrestling because it’s now what every one does. AJF thought he’d get on the bandwagon so he pulls an opponent down he just beat to make him pray with him. Then he gets smashed by Yonger Bastida and now he’s back to the drawing board as an atheist and accusing others of using HGH. There is nothing wrong with being a Christian and having faith.. I know that’s who I am. But that’s doesn’t mean you have to be a prophet and try and shove it down everyone else’s throat in a sports arena.

After watching Penn State’s infomercial praising Jesus, AJ thought if I just pretend to be the same I won’t lose like they don’t so I’ll do the most cringe thing I can think of and pray with a kid I just beat at nationals. Then after Bastida he was like shit that didn’t work, back to old AJ…

If I’m Ohio State I’m doing whatever I can possibly do and whatever it would realistically take to try and convince Luke Stanich to come to Columbus and take over Mendez’s spot at 149. There is no lineup room at OSU or PSU, but there is at tOSU. There is always room at Iowa but Stanich doesn’t come across to me as an Iowa/Brands type.

Sorry if already mentioned but the best kid I’ve seen wrestle Bassett and has multiple wins against him on the freestyle circuit is Luke Stanich. Excellent hand fighting, strong kid, doesn’t allow Bassett to get into his ties easily… same recipe.

There is at least a 60% chance that Cannon is guaranteed to win every match. Don’t question the math. In this thread or any other.

I think Henkle is too good to ask him to sit as a redshirt freshman next year, which is what that scenario would do. The most likely one, and the most annoying one for anyone not a PSU fan, is they start Henkle at 174 and have Duke take his shirt next year with Kasak filling in at 157, and Mesinbrink staying put at 165. If Ono does go next year, they risk losing Desmond too, unless Blaze takes his shirt next year and Desmond/Ono go 133/141.

I know no one wants to hear this but honestly… will anyone else be more shocked if Bouzakis wrestles next week vs he does? If Cannon were healthy, I would have put the probability of Bouzakis wrestling against Penn State at 100%. Without Cannon, it’s basically a mathematical certainty Ohio State cannot beat Penn State next week. So help me make sense as to why Bouzakis goes next week wit the dual not counting for anything, even competitively now? Now in addition to that, Bouzakis was visibly hurting grabbing his lower back at the end of tonight’s match. Using injury and rest as a reason now makes a ton of sense. The fact Ohio State has a viable backup in Kilkeary whose from P.A would be a nice spot start for the Latrobe kid. And most importantly..Bouzakis heads to the Big Tens having yet to face Lihledahll. That in itself make Bouzakis going next week just a dumb decision at this point. If I’m a top guy, if I had the choice, or was given the realistic option to manipulate my opponents, I want to wrestle a top Penn State kid fi the first time at Big Tens. There is no better program whose wrestlers are coached better then Casey Cunningham when it comes to scouting, breaking down film, and preparing his kids for rematches against top opponents. He has a knack for being able to identify tendencies and exploit opponent’s weaknesses the 2nd and 3rd time around in the same season when matched up multiple times.

Kharchla appears to have regained some of his explosiveness he hasn’t shown post injury. If he regains that and improves his gas tank by March, he can give Haines a run for his money at 174.

Nick Piccininni pinning Spencer Lee was pretty crazy too. Freshman Jason Nolf pinning #1 Imar was a big one.
